Chapter 8 A Message from the Girl
Chapter 8 A Message from the Girl
The police arrest them and detain the van. My father and brother were dumbfounded, my mother lied
on the ground crying. The several traffickers screamed that they were not guilty and why they were
arrested.
At that moment, all arguments were useless. The lead officer said, “Defend for yourself in the police
station!”
In the afternoon we went to the Police Station Jiangbei Branch of R City. As the victim, the police took
quite good care of me; my parents and brother were not identified and were put in a separate room,
and the traffickers were dragged straight to the interrogation room.
Two police officers in the office asked me what happened. I told them how my parents framed me in
details, but I was soft-hearted, and did not tell them my families trapped me in prison, for the sake of
that they were my families.
Master once taught me that it might not be a good thing to spare none, especially for our families.
After taking the statement, I could have left, but as a party, I needed to be on call. I had no place to live
in R City, so the police arranged a dormitory for me to stay for the time being. Within two days, the case
would be tried, and I could leave then.
I had absolutely no idea what happened to my parents and brother, but I had been kind to them!
Lying in the dorm that night, I took my brother's phone and first looked through the phone album, which
contained pictures of him and his girlfriend. Apparently the girl was good-looking, but by no means that
pretty girl. After it was confirmed, I was completely at ease.
Then I contacted the number Master gave me, the one called “Sienna Johnston”.
When I was released from prison, I told myself that I must accomplish two great things in the future, the
first was to help Master overturn his case and set him free, and the second was to find that pretty girl
and repay her.
I hadn't thought of getting back at my parents and brother. They were the ones who had been mean to
me and that was why the previous hiccup happened.
After the call was answered, an unfamiliar, cold, but melodious woman's voice came from the other
end.
“Hello, who is it?”
“Hello, are you Sienna Johnston?
It was Master who asked me to contact you.”
Pursing my lips, for the first time in my life, I was interacting with a strange woman.
“Master?
Which Master, and who are you?”
Her voice was still cold and laced with doubt.
“My name is Matteo Chan. I knew Master in DG Prison before. He is in his early 40s, very
knowledgeable ......”
She immediately interrupted me.
“Got it, where are you now? I'll send someone to pick you up now.”
I hastened to say.
“No! I just want to confirm one thing with you. Is Master being wrongly accused? What do you know
about him?”
I needed to know the story.
“What do you want?”
She asked in a cold voice.
“Reversing the case for Master!”
“He made you do it?”
“No, he won't let me get involved in this.” I said.
“Then do as he said and stay out of it! Is there something else?” She asked again.
I asked her why. Why didn't she let me get involved?
Master had treated me with great kindness and like given me a second life. It was my duty to reverse
the case for him!
But this woman, Sienna Johnston, was as cold as a block of ice, and asked me indifferently.
“Is there something else? If you're short of money, or anything else, you can let me know.”
“What is your relationship with Master?”
I continued to ask again.
“I'll hang up.”
She told me nothing.
I immediately said,
“Don't hang up! I do have something I want to ask for help with!”
She kept its sentence short.
“Say it.”
I then said that I wanted her to find someone for me.
She spoke very quickly,
“Name, age, personal information, any pictures?”
I froze for a long time and suddenly realized that I knew nothing about that pretty girl.
Then I rambled on, describing to her what had happened and what the pretty girl looked like.
On the other end of the line, there was silence before she took a deep breath and said,
“You're asking me to help you find a girl you had a crush on six years ago? And you don't know © NôvelDrama.Org - All rights reserved.
anything about her, is that right?”
“Yes...you could say that.”
I couldn't help but blush at the mention of ‘my crush on her’.
“How could Master teach such a boring student as you? You're not an impostor, are you?!”
Her tone was not cold anymore but full of mockery.
“You don’t understand. She saved my life, so no matter what, I have to repay her!”
Clutching the phone, I said with immense excitement.
She said in a cold voice.
“Then tell me something useful, just complimenting her on her beauty won't do.”
I hurriedly thought for a moment and said.
“Her family lives in L County. She should have attended the first middle school at that time, graduated
from high school in 2008 and got into University of Economics and Business. Yes, that is it.”
“I'll do my best!”
After saying that, she hung up the phone.
At that time, I did not have any hope for Sienna, after all, with this information alone, it was too difficult
to find a person. However she called me after two days.
Two days later, a few officers came to the dormitory and talked to me about the progress of the case.
My parents and brother, as well as the traffickers basically explained everything that should be
explained, and it was exactly the same as the statement I had taken earlier.
The case was being tried in court because of the suspicion of fraud and human trafficking, especially
since the lead trafficker, who was a repeat offender, had travelled to various provinces and had been
linked to many missing persons.
“Matteo, thank you for giving us such a big clue to solve the case. You can go now.”
The officer shook my hand very sincerely.
“And will my parents be sentenced?”
Although I hated them, they were my families, especially my mother. All these years to me she had no
credit nor fault, so I did not want to do things too far. I had taken their house and my brother's
graduation documents, which was a big hit to them and my heart's resentment was relieved.
The officer tapped me on the shoulder and said.
“Trafficking in adult human beings, in principle, is not a crime, but there is suspicion of fraud and
coercion. The exact sentence is still subject to the court.”
As he was talking, my phone rang and the officer waved at me, signaling that I could leave at any time.
After they left, I picked up the phone and it was Sienna calling.
“I've find her, but I'm not so sure if she is the one you are looking for.”
She still sounded cold.
“Oh? Are you sure? What's her name?”
I was so excited I almost jumped up and down.
“Her name is Clara Sue, and she did graduate from L County First High School in 2008, and that year,
only one student applied to the University of Business and Economics.”
I scratched my head happily, spun in place and said.
“It's her, it's definitely her!”
Sienna then added.
“Don't be too happy. She enrolled in an out-of-province university of business and economics, and her
family is in R City, not in L County. As for how she got to L County to study, and whether she is the
person you are looking for or not, I can't be sure about that.”
It was her. It was definitely her!
She was dressed very fashionably at the time, not at all like us from L County. She didn't meet with my
brother after he went to college, so she must not have gone to a provincial school or she would have
contacted me.
‘Girl, I never thought I'd find you after all these years! But, do you still know me?’
