A Reborn Bride Pearl Emerging from Dust

Chapter 476

They suddenly felt a pang of guilt toward Calliope.

"Callie, if there's anything you want, just take it," Monty said, as if suddenly realizing she was his biological daughter, while Lisette was merely their adopted one. The things in this house should rightfully belong to Calliope.

"Really?" Calliope looked at them. "I'm hesitant to take anything. What if you accuse me of deliberately taking Lisette's stuff and picking on her?"

"We won't say that," Horatio frowned.

"Go ahead and take what you like," Valerian chimed in, having come to a similar realization.

Even Ulysses, though somewhat dissatisfied, recalled how they'd often taken things from Calliope to give to Lisette in the past.

They suddenly felt a sense of clarity, encouraging Calliope to take whatever she wanted. After all, Lisette was known for being easygoing. If they explained it to her, she surely wouldn't mind. Some things could always be replaced with new

ones.

With this in mind, they became even more generous.

"Callie, do you like this?" Monty offered. "I remember you were quite fond of it back then. Why don't you take it to your room?"

"Yeah, Callie, just take what you like," Horatio added.

Valerian and Ulysses didn't say much, but they didn't stop Calliope from taking anything either. They all knew Lisette was understanding. Even if her room was emptied, she wouldn't throw a fit. Just like Calliope used to, when they would ask her for this or that, and she'd agree. If Lisette wanted more, they could simply buy her some new things.

They needed to appease Calliope now, after all. They needed her to release Lisette, manage the family business, and help with Horatio's legs.

Calliope didn't hold back. Even though she didn't particularly like these things, she decided to take them She specifically picked the items Lisette cherished, just like Lisette used to do with her

After collecting what she wanted, Calliope turned to them and said, "I don't think

it's suitable for Horatio to be in that small room with his legs."

"I can give my room to him," Valerian quickly offered.

Calliope shook her head. "That's not suitable either."

They all looked at Calliope in silence, realizing what she meant. Clearly, Calliope wanted Lisette to move into the small room. After all, back then, it was Calliope who had to move into a smaller space because of Lisette.

"Can't Lisette Stay in that room?" Calliope asked. "When we were kids, you said it might make her feel inferior, being the adopted one. But now, hasn't she grown up? Haven't you helped her develop a better mindset? If she hasn't, and she needs material things to feel secure, isn't that a bit of a problem?"

"Besides, an adopted daughter is still an adopted daughter. She knows that. If she

throws a fit over her status, who is to blame?"

Calliope's words left them speechless.

"But moving her room abruptly without telling her might not be right," Valerian finally said.noveldrama

"You think it's not right now?" Calliope shot back. "And when I came home to find my room turned into hers, that was easy for me?"
