Chapter 10 Forced Marriage
Chapter 10 Forced Marriage
On the other end of the phone, Nicholas roared at Christine and hung up, leaving no chance for her to respond.
Looking at the phone that was ringing, Christine curled her lips helplessly. She was really unlucky to have such a father.
She must have trampled all the shit in her previous life, so she was so unlucky in this life.
With her phone in her hand, Christine walked out of the room and knocked on the door of the study. "Are you still in the study, Darren?"
"Yes, come in!" Darren's low and pleasant voice came through the thick door to her ears, making her heart beat faster.
Christine pushed the door open and walked in. She stopped one meter away from the desk and cut to the chase. "I can't stay here tonight, Darren." She said.
"What?" The busy boss named Darren finally raised his noble head.
"My father called me just now and asked me to go back now. Maybe there is something wrong." Although she knew it was not a good thing, she was a member of the Luo family. She had the responsibility to protect the thing left by her mother.
Taking a glance at the wide robe of Christine, Darren said indifferently, "Well, someone will send clothes here later. Wait here."
After saying that, Darren lowered his head and continued to read the documents. He didn't even say a word to let Christine have a seat.
Embarrassed, Christine touched her little face and stood there like a bamboo pole. She wanted to leave, but she couldn't speak. She wanted to sit down, but Darren didn't say anything. She had to stand still.
Fortunately, Darren's men were efficient. They didn't keep her waiting too long and brought the clothes here.
After changing her clothes, Christine came out of the room and ran into Darren who was standing outside the door.
Thinking of the relationship between the two people, the little face of Christine turned pale pink again. She bowed her head and said goodbye to him. "I'm leaving."
Hearing that, Darren nodded and reached out his big hand in front of her unexpectedly. "Cellphone."
After a short pause, it occurred to Christine that she hadn't got the phone number of Darren yet. She patted her smooth and full forehead, took out her mobile phone from her pocket and handed it to Darren.
"This is my number. Call me if you need me."
"Okay!" After taking the phone and taking a look at it, in order to make sure everything was okay, she called. She didn't stop until she heard the vibration of his phone in the study.
After putting away her phone and saying goodbye to Darren, Christine went downstairs with his assistant.
As soon as Christine came back home, she immediately went to the study of Nicholas.
In the study, with a gloomy face, Nicholas confronted his daughter. "Will you marry him or not?"
"Yes, but I don't have to marry the person you designated." Without any sign of weakness, Christine looked at her father, her eyes full of disappointment for her father.
"Well, since you don't want to marry him, I'll find a lawyer to sell everything of the Luo family now." Seeing that Christine had made up her mind to oppose him, Nicholas stopped making up a distressed father, he picked up the phone and was about to threaten her.
"Everything in the Luo family belongs to my mother. How can you sell it?" She couldn't watch her mother's painstaking efforts being sold.
"But now they are all in my hands. I can sell them if I want. And I can sell them to whoever I want." As a man who depended on women to live on, he finally exposed his true nature.
"You..." Christine was pissed off by her father. She couldn't understand why her mother had loved such a scumbag back then.
"Christine, if you agree to marry Darren now, I can try to keep your mother's belongings. If you don't agree, I have no choice. The company is in big trouble now. Except for the top-one CEO in the world, no one else can solve it."
What Nicholas said was true. The company did encounter a crisis. However, the reason why the company was in danger was that Amanda had offended Darren.
The party held by the Luo family...
It was specially used to apologize to Darren.
Originally, Nicholas wanted to marry Amanda into the Xi family because he was a friend of Darren's father.
But no one had expected that Darren would say the name of Christine in the end. It was really a good thing for her.
"Okay, I promise you. But I have a request." Christine knew that her father was forcing her to marry, but she had no choice but to compromise.
"What request?" Nicholas' eyes lit up. As long as Christine was willing to marry Darren, he would not refuse her no matter what excessive request she made.
"When my eighteen-year-old birthday is over, you will have to hand over everything of the Luo family to me as mom said in her will." In fact, there were only ten days left before Christine's birthday.
"Okay, I promise you." He didn't write anything, but just agreed verbally.
Hearing Nicholas' promise, Christine felt relieved. Since he couldn't protect her mother's things, she would protect them by herself.
When Christine returned to her room, it was almost nine o'clock in the evening. She remembered what Nicholas had said to her before she left the study. "There are many women who want to marry Darren. They can queue up from one end of the earth to the other. You should cherish it!"
What Christine cared about was not the status and wealth of the top-one CEO in the world, but the name that was mentioned by her father. Belongs © to NôvelDrama.Org.
Darren? How could it be such a coincidence? The two men she promised to marry today had the same name. How incredible it was!
With her cellphone in her hand, she opened the contact list, but she didn't dial Darren's number.
Her finger inadvertently scratched the note of Darren, and then she saw the personal information page of her mobile phone. Her heart skipped a beat because of fear. She wanted to go back to the communication page, but... What was more frightening was still behind.
Except that the first number at the beginning was one, the rest numbers were all eight.
'Oh my God! How rich he is! The thought of this number made her heart ache.
However, what made her more distressed was that the owner of this number called her at this time.
With a guilty conscience, Christine stared at the phone number for a few seconds. Then she picked up the phone with her weak hands, "Hello, Darren..."
