After Divorcing my Captain Husband (Chloe and Michael)

Divorcing 526

Chapter 526 Accidental Disclosure

James assumed Chloe would get the hint, and she did.

Setting down her orange juice, she followed him without hesitation.

Michael, observing her ready compliance with James, felt a twinge of unease.

He knew Chloe worked in cybersecurity at Bright Moon International, but he had never realized her computer skills were so impressive.

The clues he'd pieced together from the police station and other snippets left him with a lot of unanswered questions.

He decided to follow them, curious about what was going on.

After Chloe wrapped up her discussion with the other company's CEO, she extended her hand with a polite smile. "I look forward to working together."

The middle-aged man, Joe Wallace, returned her smile graciously. "It's an honor to partner with the esteemed Jioleek. Don't worry, I'm well aware of your industry's protocols and won't reveal your identity."

Chloe nodded, grateful, and handed him her business card. "If you have any questions before we start, just reach out."

As she and James left the room, Chloe suddenly felt a sharp cramp in her stomach. "I need to use the restroom," she said.

Michael happened to cross paths with the CEO they'd just met.

"Mr. Shawn, what a coincidence!"

Michael stopped. "Mr. Wallace."

"It's been a while. I recall you were looking for someone with strong computer skills to manage your systems. Jioleek would be perfect for that!"

Michael was momentarily confused. "Jioleek?"

He had always thought Jioleek was Candy. He had wanted her assistance, but she had firmly declined.

"Yes, I just had a meeting with Jioleek. Although... there might be some past issues between Jioleek and you," Joe said, handing Michael the business card Chloe had given him.

As he did, he remembered that Chloe was Michael's ex-wife. Given their history, it seemed unlikely they'd collaborate.

Michael took a look at the card's elegant design but quickly dismissed it. "No need, I appreciate the thought," he said.

Joe, taking back the business card, looked even more convinced of his assumptions.

He gave Michael a friendly pat on the shoulder and said, "Mr. Shawn, 1

Michael furrowed his brow, pondering, "What personal connection could I possibly have with Candy?"

The only link between them was Chloe.

"Given your history with Jioleek, you should be able to persuade her to cooperate. After all, Jioleek is the top player internationally. She's a cut above the rest."

Michael began to sense something was off, feeling like Joe was hinting at something more.

He asked, "You're right, but given my strained relationship with Jioleek, could you help me arrange a meeting with her?" Joe chuckled.

"Mr. Shawn, don't play games with me. Who knows Jioleek's contact details better than you? Even though you're divorced, you should still have her number. Unlike us, who have to rely on business cards."

Michael froze at the word "divorced".

Seeing Michael's stunned reaction, Joe began to doubt his own understanding.

"Yes, didn't you and Ms. Nelson divorce?"

Suddenly, everything clicked for Michael. The pieces fell into place.

He thought to himself, "No wonder he kept suggesting I had a connection with Jioleek. Jioleek is Chloe?!"
