Alpha Kilian pinned his gleaming ebony eyes on Nelly, his dangerous gaze filled with amusement. His wolfish grin hinted at his hidden intentions, causing a flicker of unease in Nelly’s gaze.
“Why are you asking the obvious?” she retorted, her voice laced with defiance.
Alpha Kilian chuckled, his laughter carrying an undertone of power and dominance. “Are you referring to the remark of ‘stay sweet’?” His words hung in the air, dripping with charm and arrogance.
Nelly’s eyes narrowed as she shot back, “What else could it be?”
With a smirk, Alpha Kilian started the car, his confidence radiating like an alpha amongst his pack. “I think they’re very sensible and discerning,” he remarked, his voice silky smooth.
Nelly was struck dumb, her mind racing to decipher his true intentions.
“That was obviously flattery!” she finally exclaimed, breaking the tense silence.
But Alpha Kilian dismissed her concerns, his voice dripping with certainty. “That isn’t important. Most importantly, that colleague of yours has an infinite future ahead of him and will soar to tremendous heights!” His smile was wolfish, his eyes glinting with a dangerous light.
A realization dawned upon him, and he turned to Nelly, his gaze piercing. “Oh yes, what are the names of those few colleagues of yours?”
Nelly knew all too well what he had planned, her instincts warning her of his calculating nature.
She regarded him with narrowed eyes, her voice dripping with suspicion. “Why? You even want to bribe those around me?”
Alpha Kilian shot her a sidelong glance, his eyes filled with an undercurrent of power and dominance. He replied, his voice oozing with false sincerity, “Of course not! I was merely asking. I could tell they have a close relationship with you, so I’d never invite contempt upon myself.”
Hah! How foolish of him to think he could deceive her with his lies!
Nelly didn’t believe his words, sensing the manipulation lurking beneath his charm.
Casually draping her hand over the car window, she studied him carefully, her gaze sharp and calculating. “In that case, why did you still ask when you’ve got so many spies in our company?”
Alpha Kilian, caught off guard, was momentarily stunned by her astuteness. However, he didn’t try to deny it.
How smart of her! It was just a simple remark, yet she figured things out. But what did it matter? There was nothing to deny. It’s no big deal, anyway.
He glanced sideways, only to notice Nelly eyeing him with a mixture of amusement and suspicion. Unable to resist, he quipped, “My spies’ job isn’t to gather their names.”
“Oh, really? Then, what do your spies gather?” Nelly questioned, her voice laced with curiosity and defiance.
The corners of Alpha Kilian’s mouth turned up, his eyes darkening with desire as he looked at her. “What do you think, Nelly? And why are you asking the obvious now?”
Words escaped Nelly as she was captivated by his intense gaze. She had initially wanted to playfully toy with him, but he had turned the tables on her. His address of her name, especially, sent shivers down her spine, a mixture of danger and seduction.
Recently, he had been openly expressing his love for her, without masking or concealing his desires. At first, she had been caught off guard, but she had gradually grown accustomed to his blatant displays of affection.
Scrutinizing him, she drawled, her voice tinged with caution, “Don’t tell me that their job is to collect information about me, Mr. Morris?”
Alpha Kilian chortled, amusement dancing in his eyes. “It looks like you know everything, Nelly!”
At that, Nelly was flabbergasted, a mix of shock and awe swirling in her mind.
Seeing that she remained silent, Alpha Kilian continued, his voice smug with satisfaction, “I was initially worried that you didn’t understand my feelings for you, but I’m now completely at ease.” His grin widened, exuding confidence and dominance.
Meanwhile, a mixture of emotions played across Nelly’s face, her thoughts a whirlwind of confusion and desire.
However, in that moment, she abruptly realized why Alpha Kilian had sent flowers and afternoon tea that day. It turned out that he had everything happening within the company in the palm of his hands.
In fact, he might even be aware of the rumors spreading around in the company.
Such a feeling was indescribable. It felt as though she was being watched, monitored. She should be angry, but at the same time, a strange sense of contentment enveloped her.
Perhaps it was because no one had ever gone to such great lengths for her sake.
She didn’t say anything else, casting her gaze out of the car window. The reflection on the glass barely captured the slight upward curve of her mouth, a hint of satisfaction.
At an upscale private restaurant, Sharon and Donna had already been waiting for some time when Alpha Kilian and Nelly arrived.
The two of them were starving, so they ordered some desserts to eat, their hunger momentarily driving away their concerns.
Nonetheless, Sharon stopped eating after taking a few bites, her mind preoccupied with her own worries.
Donna stared at her, concern etched on her face. “Ms. Sharon… are you not eating anymore?”
“The new movie is going to start filming soon. One will look ten times one’s weight on camera, and I don’t want to be criticized for my weight anymore,” Sharon lamented, her voice tinged with frustration and insecurity.
“Is it so arduous to be a celebrity?” Donna questioned, her voice filled with innocence and curiosity.
In response, Sharon nodded, her expression filled with a mixture of resignation and bitterness. “Yup. One has to be responsible for the character and the audience. So… forget it!”
Donna mulled it over for a while before offering her support, her voice filled with determination. “It’s okay. If anyone criticizes your weight, I’ll help you fling it back at them!”
As Sharon gazed at Donna, her heart swelled with affection and adoration.
“Although that’s very magnanimous of you, I can’t lead you astray when your mother has taught you so well!” Sharon declared, her voice tinged with fondness.
Donna burst into giggles, her laughter bubbling with innocence. “Don’t worry, for I don’t use profanities when I reprimand people.”
“Even so, you can’t do that. Just be a little princess without taking offense at those commoners!” Sharon urged, her voice filled with a mix of concern and protectiveness.
Donna mulled it over for a while before finally admitting, her voice tinged with mystery, “You might not understand me… all that well yet.”
“Hmm? What do you mean?” Sharon pressed, her curiosity piqued.
“Never mind, you’ll know in the future!” Donna replied with a mysterious smile, leaving Sharon with a mixture of anticipation and confusion.
A demure girl and a princess, huh? Well, she’ll understand in the future, won’t she?
At that precise moment, Alpha Kilian and Nelly arrived, their presence commanding attention.
“Donna,” Alpha Kilian greeted warmly, his voice filled with familiarity and affection.
Upon hearing his voice, Donna lifted her eyes, her face lighting up with delight. The instant she caught sight of them together, joy and excitement shone in her eyes. This is from NôvelDrama.Org.
“Nelly! Mr. Handsome!” she exclaimed, unable to contain her enthusiasm.
Sharon, initially sitting with an air of superiority, couldn’t help feeling awestruck when she saw Alpha Kilian and Nelly. Their presence was unparalleled, their elegance and aura of nobility setting them apart from the masses in the entertainment industry.
There was no shortage of handsome men and beautiful women in the industry, but if this couple were to join, they would unquestionably become legends. They were destined for greatness.
She stared at them, her mind momentarily blank before snapping back to reality. “Mr. Morris! Mrs… I mean, Ms. Jackson!”
“Let’s sit down,” Alpha Kilian urged in a low, commanding voice, his dominance emanating from his every word.
Sharon nodded, and they all took their seats, the mood shifting as they settled in.
Before anyone could say anything, a server arrived, interrupting their thoughts, and handed them the menus.
Alpha Kilian, effortlessly taking charge, ordered a few dishes without hesitation. After the server had left, Sharon seized the opportunity to dive straight into business, her voice filled with anticipation.
“The thing is, I brought Donna to meet the director this afternoon. Her performance was incredible, and the director loved it. He decided on her on the spot and would like to sign a contract with her. For that reason, I asked you both out today to discuss the contract. Do you have any thoughts or concerns about it?” Sharon inquired eagerly, her eyes fixed on Alpha Kilian.
When it came to money, Nelly didn’t particularly care. Instead, she was more concerned about Donna’s well-being and happiness.
Hence, she shifted her gaze to Donna, her voice filled with care and support. “What’s your take on it?”
Donna pondered for a moment, her voice uncertain yet hopeful. “I can’t say for sure, Nelly. But for now, I’d like to give it a try. I can only know if I
