Stopping her car right outside the entrance, Thalia parked and tossed her keys over to the security guard with a sly smile. She couldn’t resist the temptation of what lay inside.
As Thalia entered the building, she immediately spotted someone standing in front of the glass windows. A woman she recognized but couldn’t quite place. Frowning, Thalia shook her head in disappointment. “A lovesick fool,” she muttered under her breath.
Handing her invitation card to the entrance staff, Thalia glided through the room, greeting everyone she passed with a hint of menace in her voice.
“Hey there!” Thalia exclaimed, her eyes glinting with mischief.
Tony, Ben, and Donna rushed towards her, eager to be in her presence. Thalia’s heart ached as she looked at the children, their innocence and sweetness captivating her. She couldn’t help but yearn for a family of her own, for children as precious as these.
“How did you get here, Thalia?” Tony inquired.
A mischievous twinkle danced in Thalia’s eyes as she replied, “I drove!” Who would suspect that beneath her enchanting facade, she was the most cunning hacker in the pack?
“We forgot to call you when we arrived,” Tony admitted sheepishly.
Thalia’s smile widened as she saw Alpha Kilian fawning over Nelly. “Oh, it’s alright. It’s probably for the best. I don’t think I could handle a car ride with Alpha Kilian without causing some trouble.”
Tony was left speechless, unable to fathom the depths of Thalia’s audacity.
Thinking about the woman she had seen earlier, Thalia couldn’t help but remark, “You know, Daddy’s little lover was watching from outside. How pathetic!”
But when they turned to look, the woman was nowhere to be seen.
Thalia furrowed her brow. “She was just here. You have no idea how pitiful she looked.”
“Don’t call her Daddy’s little lover,” Donna protested.
Curiosity piqued, Thalia asked, “Do you know who I was referring to?”
“I bumped into her earlier. We chatted for a bit,” Donna replied.
“Chat? About what?” Ben inquired.NôvelDrama.Org owns © this.
“I advised her not to pursue someone who doesn’t belong to her. Nothing more,” Donna explained.
Tony and Ben were dumbfounded by Donna’s unexpected wisdom.
In that moment, Thalia recognized a strength in Donna that mirrored her own. How she longed to take them away, to protect them from the dangers of this world.
“Come with me,” Thalia beckoned.
“Where to?” Tony asked.
“To receive your birthday presents, of course!” Thalia exclaimed.
Excitement flickered in Tony’s eyes. He knew that Thalia’s gifts were far from ordinary. “Why are you being so generous?”
Thalia chuckled, her motives hidden beneath her playful facade. “You’ll find out soon enough.”
With a shared understanding, the group sneaked away to a secluded corner.
Meanwhile, Nelly watched Thalia with concern, her troubled expression catching Alpha Kilian’s attention. “What’s wrong?” he inquired.
Unable to explain, Nelly replied, “I need to make a phone call.” She walked away, leaving Alpha Kilian to ponder the enigma that was Thalia.
Nelly dialed Spencer’s number but couldn’t reach him. Frowning, she wondered if their meeting was destined to be.
After a moment’s hesitation, Nelly decided to send Spencer a text message.
The outcome lies in their hands.
In the corner, Thalia presented the children with their gifts.
Inside three elegant boxes lay exquisite watches, each unique in their design and craftsmanship.
The children gazed at the watches, transfixed by their beauty.
“These watches are exclusive to the Darknetz,” Thalia explained. “Only insiders have access to them. They have built-in self-defense mechanisms and can contact the Darknetz directly. Take your time to explore their capabilities.”
Thalia turned to Donna and added, “This watch is especially important for you. It will help protect you in this dangerous world. With it, few would dare to harm you. It’s stronger than Tony’s electric shock watch.”
Donna’s face lit up with gratitude. “Thank you, Thalia. I love it.”
Thalia beamed, pleased with the girl’s reaction.
Tony and Ben examined their watches, their expressions filled with approval.
Noticing their lack of enthusiasm, Thalia teasingly threatened to take the watches back.
Panicking, Tony and Ben quickly retreated.
“How could you ask for something back after giving it as a gift?” Tony retorted.
Ben nodded in agreement, his eyes gleaming with joy as he examined his watch.
Thalia chuckled. “You’re a bunch of softies. It took so much effort to convince Sam to give me these.”
Tony’s sharp mind caught on to something. He stared at Thalia, suspicion etched on his face. “Does Sam know about us?”
Thalia paused, momentarily caught off guard. “Well… not exactly. I wouldn’t dare reveal anything without your consent. But I have a feeling he knows something. There’s no way I could’ve obtained these gifts without his help. So, it’s only a matter of time before he shows up. It’s inevitable.”
As Alpha Kilian observed Thalia surrounded by the children, his wariness grew. Why would someone from the Darknetz be so invested in them? He had doubted her motives at first, but now he couldn’t shake off the feeling that there was something deeper at play.
Meanwhile, Nelly’s message to Spencer hung in the air, the outcome uncertain.
Thalia smiled to herself, satisfied with the events unfolding.
