Noticing that Tony was approaching, Spencer averted his gaze and shifted his focus to the boy instead. He could sense a peculiar aura emanating from Tony, one that was not typical of children his age.
There was a certain confidence in Tony’s eyes, devoid of any fear or timidity, as he drew nearer. Spencer couldn’t help but feel intrigued. It was clear that Tony was not an ordinary child, considering his lineage as the child of Alpha Kilian and Nelly.
“So, you’re Mommy’s friend?” Tony inquired boldly.
Spencer’s reaction was hardly surprising, given that he had encountered the boy before. In fact, it was exactly what he had anticipated from Alpha Kilian and Nelly’s child.
“Yes, I am,” Spencer answered confidently.
The boy fell silent for a moment, pondering his next words carefully. “I don’t know the nature of your relationship with Thalia, nor do I know what transpired between the two of you. However, as Mommy’s friend, I advise you to tread carefully. I will hold you accountable if anything happens to Thalia,” Tony warned sternly, each word enunciated clearly.
Spencer narrowed his eyes at the boy, his curiosity piqued. “Are you close to her?”This belongs © NôvelDra/ma.Org.
“Yes,” Tony responded without hesitation.
Ever since Thalia had come to his aid at the hospital, Tony considered her a friend. If anything were to happen to her, he would readily step in and offer his assistance. Witnessing Tony’s imposing demeanor despite his young age, Spencer couldn’t help but admire his protective nature, much like that of Nelly.
“Alright, duly noted,” Spencer finally replied after a brief pause.
As Tony was about to depart, Spencer called out to him suddenly. Tony turned to face him. “Anything else?”
Taking out a vial of medication, Spencer extended it towards Tony. “Here. It’s for her.”
Tony displayed no intention of accepting the vial. “I’m sure she won’t seek medical attention. But this medication can help with her wound,” Spencer explained.
Tony could discern that Spencer and Thalia’s relationship went beyond the ordinary. He could even perceive the worry in the man’s eyes. Although Tony’s earlier warning had carried a severe tone, it had also served as a test for Spencer.
After a moment of hesitation, Tony finally took the vial from him.
“Don’t mention that it’s from me,” Spencer reminded him.
“Why?” Tony questioned.
“She won’t use it if she knows it’s from me. She might even shatter the vial,” Spencer replied, offering his explanation.
“Do you truly know her that well?” Tony inquired further.
Spencer smiled slightly, looking at the boy. “Perhaps. Just give it to her. Thank you.” With that, Tony glanced at the staircase briefly before departing.
Observing Tony’s departure, a frown creased his brows. Despite his young age, Tony understood that love was intertwined within this complex situation. Thalia and… him? Feeling helpless, Tony turned around and retraced his steps.
Upon his return, he found Thalia drinking. To his surprise, Ben not only failed to discourage her from drinking but also aided her in opening the bottles. The sight deepened Tony’s frown even further.
“What are you doing, Ben?” he questioned upon entering.
“I’m here because Thalia isn’t feeling well and wanted a drink,” Ben replied with a smile.
“You-” Tony began, but Thalia interrupted his words.
“I asked him to. Don’t blame him,” Thalia interjected.
Tony’s frown intensified at the sight, witnessing just how broken Thalia appeared. Then, Ben whispered into his ear, “She’s feeling down right now, so some alcohol will cheer her up. If you try to stop her, she’ll only want it more. Let her have her way for now. We can replace it with water once she’s drunk.”
Hmm, he has a point.
“You certainly have plenty of ideas,” Tony remarked, glancing at his brother.
“Well, not really,” Ben replied with a smile.
“Where were you?” Thalia suddenly inquired, looking up at Tony.
Taking out the vial, Tony responded, “I noticed your injury, so I went to… get some medication for you!”
Surprised, Thalia glanced at the medication in his hand, her gaze becoming distant.
“What? Is there something wrong with it?” Tony asked, concerned.
Thalia shook her head, averting her gaze as she resumed drinking.
“Do you want me to apply the medication for you?” Tony offered, volunteering his assistance.
“Nah! This is nothing compared to the injuries I sustain during my missions,” Thalia replied with a smile.
“Then-” Tony began, but his words were swiftly interrupted.
“I said no!” Thalia exclaimed, annoyance evident in her voice. “One more word, and I’ll send both of you home. Don’t disturb me here!”
“I didn’t say anything, so don’t chase me away,” Ben argued.
Beside him, Tony rolled his eyes, while Thalia pursed her lips, refusing to engage further.
Understanding Thalia’s stubborn nature all too well, Tony opted to let the matter rest. He placed the vial on the table and directed his attention back to her.
“Fine. I’ll do as you wish. Do you have anything else to say to me?” Tony inquired.
“What is there to say?” Thalia took another gulp of beer, looking away.
“That man. I’ve never seen him before. He’s Nelly’s friend,” Tony divulged.
Thalia’s expression froze.
“I asked Nelly today, and she mentioned that they’ve known each other for years. What occurred today was merely an accident,” Tony explained.
Thalia’s grip tightened around the can, her emotions visibly affected.
“I don’t know the details of your history, but if you’re willing to talk it out, we’re all ears,” Tony continued.
Seeing Ben nod in agreement beside him, Thalia managed to offer a smile in response. “There’s nothing much to say. It’s all in the past.”
“Really? He’s the one who gave me this vial,” Tony revealed.
Thalia was taken aback. Just as she was about to rise, Tony spoke once more. “He didn’t want me to inform you it was from him. He believed that if you knew, you would definitely discard it.”
Thalia froze in her tracks upon hearing this revelation.
As Spencer had predicted, Thalia seethed with anger upon realizing that he was the one who had provided the medication. Ben, who had been observing the scene, silently congratulated Spencer for his accuracy. Spot on, man!
“I can see that he understands you well. He truly cares for your well-being,” Tony remarked.
“Cares for me? Ridiculous!” Thalia scoffed.
“The way he looked at you is exactly how Daddy looks at Mommy. I’m certain of it,” Tony continued.
Thalia regarded Tony with skepticism. “If that’s the case, you should have a proper conversation with your daddy. If his gaze is similar, then I suppose your daddy isn’t any better. Because that man… he only sees me as a sister.”
All men are the same!
“Did he tell you that himself?” Tony inquired.
“Yeah! He said it outright. He even mentioned being in love with someone else!” Thalia exclaimed, a smile playing on her lips as she reached for her can of beer once more.
“Have you ever considered that he said those things deliberately?” Tony questioned further.
Thalia froze, her mind suddenly racing with possibilities.
