Alpha’s Predestined Bride

EPISODE 12 Will you find me?

MOON STONE PACK

“Come on taste the tart,” he picked up her spoon and place the tart to her mouth in a bid to feed her. “It tastes really good.” He added still holding the spoon to her lips.

Her gaze met with his and she let him feed her. “How is it?” He asked, his voice low but deep.

“Hmm.. it tastes very good.” She commented.

“Enjoy it.” He said still looking into her her eyes. He touched his fingertips to the corners of her mouth to wipe the spilled food.

Meagan felt the contact sending tingles through her system again. With his face closer to her lips, she could feel his intense gaze on her. This shouldn’t be happening. She wasn’t ready for such reaction but her body kept betraying her at every touch from this man. Meagan moved away from him.

“Warlord Baron, are you trying to flirt with me?” She asked with a raised eyebrows.

He repositioned himself and a rich laughter erupted from him. Meagan was a bit embarrassed by the laughter as a response to her question. Meagan thought she had sounded so old.

The laughter faded soon, his gaze locking hers. “If that’s how you see it, Allison.” He replied.

Meagan avoided his gaze. “Relax, I don’t mean any harm. And by the way my name is Carl.” He introduced.

Now she knows his name and without thinking over her earlier decision she said. “Meagan.”

Carl grinned to acknowledge the fact that they are now one step ahead. “It’s nice to meet you, Meagan.”

“Likewise.” She set her plate aside and sipped from the drink.

Meagan concluded that she should get back to the party to find Hazel before she threatens to take off her head again for not participating in games she has planned for the bridesmaids. Hazel was already wondering about her best friend’s whereabouts.

Meagan stood up to leave. “I should get back inside.”

Carl looked up at her. “Do I make you feel uncomfortable?” He asked.

She looked down at him through her long lashes. “No.. no.. don’t get me wrong.” She didn’t want to disclose it to him that she was associated with the bride so he won’t come finding her again after tonight.

She was still on her mask so he would have a bit of a problem recognizing her if perhaps they meet again. But Meagan didn’t know that Carl knew her. He has heard so much about her from her best friend who tagged her as the best human in the world. He would have met her before now when Julius suggested it but he had declined. He saw her sliding out of the car the first day Julius drove her into the pack but she didn’t see him. Carl hasn’t seen her for days until tonight because he has been too busy preparing for the week. And the first thing he did when he came to the ballroom was looking for her. Carl couldn’t find her until he saw Hazel, Julius asked of her and his bride said she was somewhere around then he knew she was present for the Halloween party.

“You don’t make me uncomfortable.” Meagan said.

“So if I don’t make you feel I comfortable then stay extra time with me. You can read my palms to tell my future.” He didn’t want her to leave just yet.

Meagan enjoyed his company but she doesn’t want anything else with him. “Alright. I am just going to read your palm.” She sat back on the bench and stretched his hand towards her.

Meagan traced her fingertips on his large palms pretending to see his future.

“I can see more wars to be conquered, Warlord Baron. And your enemies shall fall at your feet. I see success too.” She said.Content © provided by NôvelDrama.Org.

Carl’s lips twitched as he studied her closely. He wished she could take off the mask. But he knew beneath the mask was a beautiful face.

“I have survived many wars.” He replied.

“I can see that you are a great man and you will always succeed in whatever challenges you take on.” She assured him depicting her favorite icon.

Actually Carl knew she was right about everything. He has never been defeated by his enemies since he became the alpha. Ten years reigning as the alpha of moon stone pack, Carl has been victorious. He looked pleased by her words.

“Allison’s traits looks good on you.” He joked.

Meagan let out a giggle at his words. “I just read out few lines from her history to you. The story of how Allison fell in love with a warlord, those are the words she said to him on their first meeting.” She said.

Maybe Allison’s traits really suits her because the same story was about to repeat itself. And they have an understanding of it. Allison didn’t end up with the warlord although they had a fling together for some nights. But the warlord left for his kingdom again and Allison went her way too because none of them could give up their paths of survival to be with the other.

“So how about a dance with me?” Carl asked in a light tone after some seconds of absolute silence.

A cool breeze toyed with her hair. Meagan would have loved the idea of being held in those strong arms and nestling against his broad chest but she wasn’t going to back down on her decision. She wasn’t going to let her built up walls crumble down because of this man.

“I don’t-” she was about rejecting him but was cut off when the doors opened up.

An alligator and peacock walked into the garden. Meagan had seen them earlier and it was obvious they were out here to make out.

“Allison-“The drunk peacock recognized the costume even in the dark with moonlight providing brightness. She rushed towards Meagan. “I.. I.. can recognize this costume.. anywhere.” She said drunkly lstil holding a glass in her hand.

The alligator tried to caution her on seeing the alpha but she didn’t pay attention to him. She was focused on Meagan. “Read my future.. please.. do I have a chance with this alligator?” She giggled and stuck out both palms towards Meagan.

“No.. I can’t read-” And before she completed her words the peacock missed a step and ended up pouring her drink over Meagan.

“Helen!” The alligator tried to help her up. He felt embarrassed in front of the alpha because he wasn’t a member of moon stone pack. As a visitors in the pack, they shouldn’t go about causing a mess.

Meagan stood up while Carl grabbed a napkin to help her wipe her dress.

“I am sorry…” the alligator apologized bowing his head as he dragged the peacock away.

“Sorry… Allison!” The peacock screamed. She was drunk.

Meagan caught Carl’s wrist when he tried to wipe her exposed skin. “Thank you.” She looked down at the mess. “I’ll get it off.. myself in the ladies toilet.”

Carl realized that he has been too touchy with her. “I am sorry.” He apologized.

“It’s alright. I’ll go ahead now.” Meagan walked away.

“Meagan-” he called and she stopped at the door.

“Will you find me when you are done?” Carl asked.

He definitely won’t be out here sitting around waiting for her right? Meagan has no plans of seeing him again tonight.

She didn’t look at him. “I’ll try.” She replied.

Carl grinned. “Alright. Please go ahead.”

Meagan continued and went back into the ballroom. She made her way through the crowd again and she asked a vampire for direction to the ladies toilet. When Meagan finished cleaning herself up in the toilet, she find her way back to the ballroom concluding that she doesn’t want to see Carl anymore. But she has to look for Hazel to let her know she was heading back to the guest house reserved for some bridesmaids who didn’t have a home in the pack. Although Meagan also has a chance of sleeping over at her best friend’s home. A studio apartment was given out to some iotas working at the pack infirmary.

Tonight Meagan preferred to sleep at the guest house because she wanted to be alone. And soon she bumped into Hazel when she almost gave up on the search.

“Hey Meagan!” Hazel screamed.

“Hazel.”

“Where have you been? I looked everywhere for you.” Hazel complained.

“I.. I have just been around.. enjoying the view. Lovely and colorful costumes everywhere.” Meagan smiled.

Hazel’s eyes drifted down to her chest. “What happened to your dress?” She pointed to the wet spot on the outfit.

“Oh this.. a drunk peacock spilled drink on me. Don’t worry I have cleaned it off.” Meagan answered.

“Come with me, I want to introduce you to some of my friends and we still have so much games to play.” Hazel grabbed Meagan’s wrist almost dragging her away but Meagan stopped her.

“Can you spare me tonight?” Meagan’s eyes pleaded with her best friend.

“You are tired right?” Hazel asked with concern in her face.

“Yes.. I am starting to feel a slight pain in my head plus this heels are making my ankles weak.” Meagan replied.

“Should I get you medications?” Hazel reached forward to touch her forehead. “You are burning up.”

“No, I’ll be fine after having enough rest.” Meagan countered.

“Okay if you insist, just go ahead and rest at the guesthouse. I’ll check on you when the party is over.” Hazel pushed her best friend gently towards the door.

“Alright. Bye Hazel.” Meagan smiled at her friend before slipping out of the ballroom.
