Alpha’s Surrogate Chapter 18
18. Abandoned. Part-1
Xavier had no choice but to take a step back. What the heck had he just heard? Dean had told him that the female in front of him was
his mate. His fated mate. How was it possible that he had been granted a second chance mate, when that female in front of him was
none other than his surrogate?
“Welcome the Alpha and Luna,” the whole pack greeted their Alpha and Luna by showering them with rose petals. Their wolves were overjoyed today since they were experiencing one of the most anticipated days of their lives. Their Alpha and pack were now complete! All of the other guests, including other Alphas, Lunas, and the leaders of the other packs, were staring at Kiara and Xavier.
Stephen smiled proudly as he saw his companions’ and the Alphas of opposing packs astonished, furious, and with jealous expressions. Zander’s dull yet piercing eyes piqued their interest, causing him to smirk. This marking ceremony had been crucial for the Sirius Bright Pack. For the past two years, Xavier’s lack of a mate, as well as the rumor that the Alpha would never let another female become his chosen mate, gave not only competing packs but also ally packs the courage to stand up to them. Despite their alliances, they took advantage of the twin brothers’ being mateless to attack the Sirius Bright Pack at sometime in the near future, even if their odds of victory were lower than they had expected.
When Stephen discovered their secret intentions, he had promptly informed Xavier and Zander. It was a clear scenario. The
werewolf world operated on the premise that a mateless Alpha would be detected and susceptible by others. The new attitude of their old atly packs indicated the presence of a hidden opponent. Someone had been working against them, hiding behind these stupid packs.
Someone agitated their other allies and associate packs, even provoking them to oppose the Sirius Bright Pack, but the marking ceremony had derailed everyone’s intentions. They had come here to see Xavier’s mate, thinking it was all a ruse to show the world, but the she-wolf he had chosen as his mate was truly here! She had to be beautiful, intelligent, and brave enough to confront Alpha
Xavier.
It was a real marking ceremony, and he had truly selected his Luna! He was even more powerful than before! The Alphas of both ally
and rival packs sweated in terror as Zander’s gaze warned them that the repercussions of scheming against them would be severe. This
had also been one of the reasons Xavier consented to this ceremony. He had been willing to go to any length to safeguard his pack, but
the tables had already been turned against him.
There was a lot going on around Xavier and Kiara, the hall was filled with greetings and well wishes, but their gazes were riveted on
one another.
“Mate!” Venus repeated this unbelievable word for what must have been the tenth time and finally gained Kiara’s attention.
“What are you saying, Venus? The male standing in front of us is none other than Alpha Xavier. I am his surrogate, then how… Kiara’s voice shook despite the fact that she had been mind-linking her own wolf.
“This means we are our mate’s surrogate!”
Venus interrupted Kiara. Her wolf was also bewildered and surprised. Kiara shook her
head a little.
· How was that even possible? She had always been anxiously awaiting her mate, even though she had also given up hope of ever finding him when she had been betrothed to that other Alpha. However, her mate turned out to be Alpha Xavier. A male who was her old
pack’s and family’s adversary. He had always been cold and heartless to her. She’d been with him for two days and two nights, during which he kissed her and even saw her naked. The most crucial fact was that she had signed a surrogacy contract with her own mate, which was a strange and bitter pill to swallow.
After this revelation, the young she-wolf remained frozen, unsure of what to do or how to react. Xavier’s eyes and expression were unhelpful. Everything combined to make her simply want to flee as far away as she could, despite the fact that Venus had been longing to
throw herself into her mate’s arms.
“Luna Kiara,” Stephen stepped forward, a big smile on his face. Because Xavier’s father was no longer alive, his Grandfather was in charge of everything. Before continuing, he offered a courteous bow to Xavier and Kiara.
Xavier’s Luna. Fortunately, Grandpa had intervened, otherwise she would have been engulfed by the Alpha’s emerald eyes. He had been standing away from her, but he had not moved his gaze. Kiara noticed the same blank expression in his eyes as he continued to speak
with Dean. Nôvel(D)rama.Org's content.
“The auspicious time for the marking ritual is in 5 minutes. Please allow us all to enjoy a drink with you and Alpha until then,” Stephen suggested.
Xavier and Kiara had been offered a drink. Males took their Alpha to their side to have a drink with him, while Kiara was dragged to the female’s side, causing the two of them to be separated from one another. They needed to chat, but the circumstances were right for it at the moment. Alphas from the other packs had been congratulating Xavier and laughing at their own jokes during their conversations, but the green-eyed Alpha had been just as callous as usual. When a reservoir of molten lava churned inside him, he didn’t
even pretend to smile.
“What’s the matter?” Zander asked as his brother clicked their glasses together. After the other Alphas and their friends had their
congratulatory drinks with Xavier, he took a few shots that had been offered to him. Zander had sensed his brother’s agitated state since
he walked into the wedding hall. He initially assumed he was speechless due to Kiara’s beauty, since she looked like a princess in her
attire, but he soon realized that the true issue was something else. Unexpectedly, Zander had not received a response. Instead, he could
read the tension between his brother and sister-in-law. She was also making an effort to smile. Xavier’s gaze remained fixed on Kiara,
despite the fact that she was surrounded by other Lunas and females who had wanted to drink with her.
“I’m sorry, but I’ve never drunk before,” Kiara made the decision not to drink. She had never tasted wine before, and the wine they
were providing appeared to be very powerful. All of the females appeared to be enjoying themselves, as if it was nothing more than
water. Even though Kiara had her wolf, she couldn’t believe her alcohol tolerance would be high considering it was her first time.
“A little wine won’t hurt, Luna Kiara. Please give us this honor” a pretty Luna asked, holding out a drink. Kiara had seen that her
mate appeared to be a close buddy of twin brothers. After some deliberation, the young she-wolf had to accept it. If Kiara declined her
further, it might give the Luna the impression that Kiara was an insufficient Luna of the pack, who couldn’t even handle herself after a few
shots. Kiara’s gaze had been drawn to Xavier, who had already completed more than 5 shorts and appeared disturbed and enraged.
The young female’s eyes were drawn to the fact that her partner was dressed in the same lovely wedding suit that she had picked for
him. Her lips curved into a small smile. She couldn’t lie, if he had picked a different outfit to wear, it would have made her unhappy.
“All right, gentlemen! It’s time for the ring exchange!” Stephen made the announcement. Jennifer placed Kiara in the middle of the hall, just in front of Xavier. The Beta female encouraged her with a wide smile. It was her day, and she looked magnificent next to her
Alpha. When Kiara discovered her mate was closer, the young she-wolf’s heart beat frantically. It was a very pleasant and uplifting
sensation. It was the first time she felt the mate bond, which had such an impact on her that she couldn’t help but take a step closer to
him. Their mate bond was as pure as his current expression. He was now averting his gaze from hers.
The Alpha, who had been looking at her since she had walked into the room, suddenly disregarded her, despite the fact that they
were standing right in front of one another. Why wasn’t he looking at her? What was going through his mind? Kiara had been asked to
place the ring on her Alpha first after the rings were delivered to them. She raised her gaze to Xavier, holding the wedding ring in her
fingers. He simply extended his hand to her because his gaze was fixed on his own hand. Kiara slowly took his large hand lightly in her
petite palm.
She slid the ring on to his finger while battling the slew of questions in her mind. Were they actually going to marry? She had
discovered her soul mate while also becoming his? How did he feel about this? His wolf must have also warned him that they were fated
mates, but he had still not resisted and had let her do that. Did he desire her? Would they mark each other?
When she extended her hand to Xavier, her cold hands shook as he began to slide the ring onto her finger. What was the deal with
him being so hot? She had the sensation that his body was on fire. She was taken aback by the emotion she was experiencing from him. She could feel his rage, fury, and the sense of suffocation through their mate bond. The entire crowd erupted in applause, but Kiara stared into Xavier’s eyes, perplexed. He didn’t give her a chance to ask, instead he drew her in for a kiss, formally sealing their marriage. The young female was surprised when his lips, which had always been soft and kind to her, became heated and a touch frantic.
The entire pack rejoiced, but Kiara’s heart ached as she learned he was pushing himself for this marriage and marking. She slightly
opened her mouth, enabling him to deepen their heated kiss. She’d been absolutely out of breath even though she hadn’t kissed him
back since their kiss had just one sensation: pressure. He had pushed himself so hard that no one could suspect them, but in the end,
Xavier couldn’t hold himself together.
He quickly broke the kiss, drawing himself back. Kiara was taken aback by his unexpected behavior. As he rushed through the
ceremony hall and pack house.
