An Understated Dominance

Chapter 2168

Miles eagerly explained, “Don’t let the thin yellow paper fool you because it holds immense power. Once it latches onto someone, they’ll feel like they’re being crushed by a massive boulder.

“As long as this talisman remains intact, that person won’t be able to move a muscle for the rest of their life!”

“Wow, really that incredible?” Ruby widened her eyes in astonishment.

“Absolutely! Though I’ve only heard of it and never seen one. After all, there are very few who can wield the Summit Shift Divine Talisman,” Miles said.

“Should we help?” Ruby asked.

“If even Mr. Rhys can’t budge it, our efforts would be in vain. Let’s just wait and see.” Crystal shook her head.

They hadn’t reached grandmaster level, so they weren’t qualified for this kind of confrontation.

“Mr. Rhys, how about letting the two of us give it a try?”

Laurel and Willow stepped forward, offering themselves up for the task.

Wary of the potential for deception, they decided to take the initiative and offer to go first before Dustin.

“Sure.” Dustin nodded and didn’t refuse their offer. With three attempts at their disposal, he was not in a hurry.

Laurel and Willow exchanged glances, then walked straight to Predator. He lay motionless, his gaze had become vacant. He even looked like a corpse.

After confirming there was no threat, Laurel grabbed its arms, while Willow grabbed its legs.

“One, two, three! Lift!”

They exerted force simultaneously as they tried to lift Predator out of the pit. But soon, they were surprised to find that their combined strength had no effect.

Not only could they not lift the Predator out of the pit, they couldn’t even move its limbs.

Despite Predator’s imposing frame- weighing only around 440 pounds lifting him should have been easy with their strength. Hence, they concluded that it wasn’t his weight that hindered them from lifting him.

Soon, Laurel and Willow fixed their gaze on the yellow talisman behind Predator. They figured the problem was the talisman.

“Remove the talisman!”

Laurel and Willow shared a quick glance before both reached out to tear it apart.

But the moment Laurel’s fingers brushed the talisman, it flashed. It unleashed a powerful shockwave that sent her staggering back several steps as if she’d been struck by lightning.

“Let me try!” Willow, unwilling to be outdone, also made an attempt.

But the outcome remained unchanged. The moment her fingers grazed the talisman, she jerked back as if jolted by electricity, and her entire body trembled.

“What’s going on?”

Laurel and Willow frowned in concern. They hadn’t expected to be unable to tear a piece of paper.Property © of NôvelDrama.Org.

“It’s no use. Unless you know your way around Divine talisman techniques, you won’t be able to break Master Caleb’s Summit Shift Divine talisman,” the Sacred Wrym Summit disciple cautioned.

Tearing the talisman forcefully would trigger a powerful backlash. The more force applied, the more intense the repercussions. A single misstep could cost them their lives.
