Chapter 2 Counterattack
Chapter 2 Counterattack
Anton did not know how many he walked, and he finally went home. When he opened the door, his
parents were at home. They saw a bruise on Anton’s face and rushed to ask, “Anton, what’s wrong?”
Out of self-esteem, he could not tell that he was hit by others and said, “It’s raining outside, and I
slipped.”
Mom asked out of care, “Is everything ok? Anton, do you need to go to the hospital to check?”
“Mom, it’s fine. Leave me alone.” Anton answered and then went back to his room. He shut the door
and did not want to see anyone in a bad mood.
Dad knocked on his room door and said, “Anton, eating something before you get inside!”
“Dad, I had a meal outside,” Anton answered impatiently. Dad looked at his wife and said, “I feel like
there is a growing generational gap between us and our kid. Now Anton rarely talks with us.”
“Well, our kid….” Mom said with worry.
Until it was over ten o 'clock, Anton heard his parents get back in the room for sleep. And he came out
of his room. He went to the bathroom to clean his body. Then he went to the balcony to find the toolbox
in the home. And he took a flick knife back to his room.
In his own room, Anton stripped himself naked and stood in front of the mirror with a flick knife in his
hand. Looking at the mirror, he said coldly, “Anton, bear in mind that from now on, no one can bully
you!”
Then he pushed out the blade of the knife, stretched out his left hand, and cut his palm. The knife cut
his hand and left a three-inch-long wound. The blood gushed out instantaneously. Anton clenched his
teeth to let himself not cry out, looking at his face twisted in the mirror, and said with his teeth
clenching, “Anton Williams, if you can’t even bear such pain, how can you have the hope that you will
not let other bully you?” The pain in his palm stimulated his every nerve, and his mouth involuntarily
emitted the sound of “hum.”
Perhaps he was just too painful, or he bled too much, Anton felt a burst of dizziness, but still, hang on
the knife in his hand. Anton’s parents heard noises in Anton’s room, and the voice sounded like Anton’s
moan. Not knowing what happened, they opened Anton’s door and were shocked by what they saw.
There was blood on Anton’s hand and on the floor. Anton was lying naked on the ground and making a
faint sound.
Anton’s father quickly wrapped his son with a blanket and walked outside toward the hospital. His mom
followed them to the hospital.
A week later, Anton went to school as usual except his left hand wrapped with white gauze.
He went into the classroom, ignoring others’ curious gazes, and sat on his seat silently. All his
classmates found he had become a little different, but they could not tell it clearly as it was a strange
feeling.
Looking at Anton, Joey asked carefully, “Anton, I heard that you were sick and in hospital. What’s going
on?”
“Nothing,” Anton smiled, “Just accidentally cut my hand.”
Joey looked at the gauze in Anton’s hand, nodded, and said angrily, “Why you are so careless!”
Anton answered with a smile, “Got it. I will pay more attention next time.” Seeing Anton with a smile,
Joey felt he was changed, at least he was more cheerful.
“What made you laugh? Anton, did you run to the hospital to hide? Come on!” Jasper laughed at Anton
and walked toward him.
Seeing Jasper bullying Anton, Joey got angry immediately and shouted at Jasper, “Jasper, are you
mad? Can’t you see that Anton was injured?”
“Gee, is he your boyfriend that you help him this way? Did you have dated?” Jasper asked.
Joey blushed with anger and scolded, “You... You sucker.” Anton pushed Joey and said to her, “Ignore
him. He is just an annoying fly. Why wasting time on him?” Joey laughed out and looked at Jasper
without saying anything.
Jasper thought he misheard and gazed at Anton, “Damn it. What did you say?”
Anton stood up and walked to Jasper. When he was only half a foot away to Jasper, he stopped and
said word by word, “I say you are a fly!”
Everyone stared at Anton with incredible looks. Jasper was shocked like he saw a volcanic eruption in
front of him. He said with eye-red, “Anton Williams, don’t you fucking think that you have become
stronger after you had been in hospital. Fucking you!” and he hit Anton’s face immediately.
There was blood bleeding from Anton’s mouth. However, this time Anton laughed rather than cry.
Looking at Jasper’s laughing, he put his hand in his pocket. When Jasper and other people thought
something wrong with Anton, Anton put the flick knife out and all the laughter disappeared. Jasper saw
a new flick knife in front of his eyes.
Anton pushed the blade out slowly. There was silence in the classroom. Only “tok-tok” sound made by
the flick knife spread around the classroom.
Jasper suppressed the fear in his mind. He could not believe that Anton, the one who was beaten hard
by him last week, dared to fight with him this time. “Fuck you. Do you think you can scare me just with a
knife? The rubbish will always be rubbish and it will not change anything.” Seeing Anton standing there
without moving, Jasper was confirmed that he was bluffing him. And then he pushed Anton’s head and
said, “Disgusting. Get away from me.”
Anton was waiting for him to finish his word and cut Jasper’s face suddenly. Jasper only felt that there
was a chilly feeling on his face. And then students standing next to him screamed. A sweet and salty
liquid flowed into Jasper’s mouth. Jasper stretched out his hand to touch his face and felt it was sticky.
Then he found his hand was covered with blood.
“Ah!” Jasper covered his face and shouted. Anton walked in front of Jasper and grabbed Jasper’s hair,
pulled Jasper to watch him, “You know that? This is the result of your bullying!” Jasper looked at
Anton’s indifferent eyes and instantly felt that his eye expression was so ferocious like a beast’s. He
was extremely scared right now and for the first time, he thought of death. Not due to the wound in his
face, or the knife in Anton’s hand, but because of the one who stood in front of him and seemed he
knew him well while he knew nothing about him.
After all, hobbledehoy was still young and never saw such a scene. A timid girl wept with fear. A boy
run out of the classroom and strode to the head teacher’s office without knocking on the door. The
teacher was reading the teaching reference materials when a student run in a panic. The teacher
asked, “Adam, what’s going on that made you entry without knocking on the door?”
Adam gasped and said, “Mr., bad news. Anton cut Jasper’s face and there are lots of blood!”
The headteacher was a male teacher who liked Anton very well. He thought Anton not only a talented
hardworking student but also was clever. No matter how difficult the question was, he could figure it out
after his teaching. He was only a little shy. He did not believe in what Adam said. How could a good
boy like Anton cut another’s faces? But it seemed that Adam wasn’t lying. With curiosity, he walked to
the classroom with Adam.
When he was at the door of the classroom, he found that there was silence in the classroom. The
teacher looked at Adam strangely said, “You nuisance. You’d better not lie to me; otherwise, see how I
punish you.” Adam was scared by the teacher’s staring and stood still. The teacher pushed the door
and went into the classroom. All the students in the class sat in their seats. He looked at Anton, who
was on his desk reading. Then he looked at Jasper, who covered his face with a handkerchief, but the
bright red blood had turned the handkerchief in red as well and the blood fell on the table.
The teacher shouted, “Jasper, who cut your face?”
Jasper looked up and sneaked to look at Anton, finding Anton was looking at him like a monster. It
made him feel like that as soon as he told the truth, he would be torn apart. He thrived and then stood
up, said loudly, “Mr., it is I that accidentally hurt myself, and it’s none of others’ business.”
Students like Jasper were annoying. When the teacher heard what Jasper said, he relieved his nerve
and said, “Why are you still sitting here? Peter, take him to the school infirmary.” He took a glance at
Jasper and muttered, “What a nuisance! Let the ground with blood!” Content from NôvelDr(a)ma.Org.
Then, the teacher pointed at Adam and said, “How can you say that Jasper’s face was hurt by Anton?”
Adam said, “I have just seen that Anton….” And he saw Anton gazing at him that he was afraid to
continue his words, and turned to the teacher and said, “Sorry…I’m sorry that I should not lie to you.
Jasper’s face was cut by himself.”
“Don’t lie to me next time.” The teacher said to Adam and then turned to Anton, “Anton, it’s close to
mid-term examination. Are your prepared well?”
Anton stood up and replied respectfully, “Mr., don’t worry that, I’m confident that I will still rank first this
time.”
It was a pleasure to have such a student like Anton. As a teacher, with an excellent teacher like Anton
in his class, he thought he was better than other teachers when he stood next to them. He was
satisfied with Anton’s reply, patted Anton’s shoulder, and said, “Anton, it’s nice to see you work so hard.
However, pay more attention to your health. Don’t be too tired. Got it?”
Anton nodded, “Thank you, Mr., I will pay more attention!”
The teacher asked Anton to sit down and said to Adam, “You go to get a mop and wipe the blood on
the ground.” Adam was willing to offend the teacher rather than telling truth. He considered Anton was
more horrible than the teacher now. The teacher stood in the classroom for a while and left until he saw
the floor was clear after Adam mopped it. The classroom was in an eerie silence. Everyone sat in their
seats as if there was a heavy stone on themselves and they could not breathe. It was Joey who broke
the silence. She looked at her desk mate and asked, “Why did you become so fierce?”
Anton said coldly, “Because I know that only then can I not be bullied by others.”
“Although Jasper was a bad guy. You beat him too hard. Such a big cut would leave a scar on the
face.” Joey thought he had done too much this time.
Anton smiled and spoke out baffling words, “People’s fate was predestined by God. No matter how
hard you try, you can’t change your destiny.” Then Anton laid on the desk and ignored Joey’s
questions.
After a while, Jasper and Peter came back from the school infirmary. There was a four-inch-long gauze
on Jasper’s nose and there were some blood spots. When Jasper walked by Anton, Jasper stopped
and bowed respectfully. “Anton, from now on, you are my boss. I’d like to follow you!”
The guy who often bullies Anton, Jasper, became the most faithful bodyguard to Anton now. The scars
all over Jasper’s were out of his protection for Anton. By the way, it was the latter of the story.
