Anton Brotherhood

Chapter 40 A Big Change

Chapter 40 A Big Change

For a while, Camille realized what happened and shouted, “Let go, you bitch! Listen, I tell you to let me

go!” Ignored Camille's clamor, Zara took her out of the teaching building, then released her hand, and

silently stood aside.

Anton, thinking Camille was a misunderstanding, ran out with them. He did not know how he could

handle it. Camille, looking at Anton with her eyes full of tears, did not say anything, for she was

aggrieved to speak. Content © copyrighted by NôvelDrama.Org.

Anton sighed and took Camille's hand, saying, “Camille, listen, it’s not what you think! She is…”

Camille didn't wait for Anton to finish his words but shook his hand off, looking at Anton and shouting,

“Anton, remember what happens today!” Camille, wiping her tears, and covering her mouth with her

hands, ran outside the school.

Anton was sad and did not want to let her leave. He ran to throw his arms around Camille, saying,

“Camille, we have done nothing. You think too much. Don't make such a fuss!”

Make a fuss? Anton's words made Camille sadder. She choked, “Well, I’m making a fuss. I'm in the

way of you two. You and I have nothing to do with each other from this day! You can enjoy yourself with

that bitch!”

“You... You...” Anton could not understand what happened to Camille today. Although usually, Camille

behaved like a child, she could not be so irrational as today. Anton was an idiot in terms of affection,

not to mention the girl's thoughts. He was disappointed about Camille's distrust. But he did not know

what women could not stand the most!

Zara came up to Camille and said, “I think you misunderstand my relationship with Boss Williams. I am

his bodyguard!”

Camille was too envious to believe Zara’s words, thinking she was showing off. Without thinking too

much, Camille threw her hands to Zara’s cheek. Zara did not dodge, but quickly grasped Camille's

wrist, threatening, “You’d better watch your behavior. Regardless of who you are, if you do this again, I

will beat you back!” Zara let go of Camille’s hand, with her cold eyes straight at Camille.

Camille could not help but tremble, turning her eyes to Anton. The latter, standing there, did not say

anything. He also thought Camille went too far and it was not bad that Zara gave her a lesson. Seeing

Anton did not do anything, Camille’s tears could not stop but flew down. She felt cold, like something

thawing in her heart, and also felt painful like being stabbed.

Camille watched two people and slowly stepped back, feeling helpless. At this time, from the school

entrance came a young man wearing glasses, 1.8 meters or so tall, fair-skinned, and gentle.

He stood behind Camille and held her shoulder with his hand, asking softly, “Camille, what's wrong with

you?”

Camille heard these words and turned her eyes to the person behind her. Without saying anything, she

threw herself into his arms and burst into tears. A little surprised, he put his hand around the girl whom

he had adored for so long.”

Anton saw everything. He felt a fire in his heart. ‘Camille is thrown into the arms of another man?’ The

fingers of his clenched fist showed white. Taking a deep breath in and out, he constrained the impulse

to kill this man. Anton slowly walked to them, coldly saying, “If you want to live, let go of your dirty

hands!”

The sound seemed to come from hell, making the young man's heart violently pound. He put his hand

down unconsciously from Camille's back, and looked at Anton. Seeing he was also a sixteen- or

seventeen-year-old teenager, with no difference other than the cold eyes, this young man summoned

the courage to ask, “Buddy, who are you? Do you know who I am?”

“Whoever you are, if you dare touch her again, I will give you no chance to regret it!”

Facing the power of Anton, the young man felt the smell of death and stepped back with the scare. He

knew that it was a symbol of power to be so imposing that even his father could not outperform the

young man in front of him. A person suddenly occurred to him. He couldn't help but ask, “Are you

Anton?”

“It’s none of your business. Now fuck off and I can consider leaving you out of it.”

Camille heard what Anton said and exclaimed, “Anton, who do you think you are? Do you think all the

people in the world are afraid of you?”

Anton was extremely angry and stared at Camille.

Camille took the young man's sleeve and said, “Ramon, let's go! Don’t care about him!”

That young man was the son of one gang elder of the Youth Gang. When Camille pulled his sleeve,

Ramon came to react, thinking Anton was no more than a minion of Youth Gang but his father was the

Gang Elder, whom even Stephan had to give way to. Why should he be afraid of him? Thinking of this,

Ramon said, “Anton, I'm sorry. Camille pulls me away. See you later.” Then, he with Camille walked out

of school, putting his hand softly on her waist. Looking back to Anton, Ramon smirked. Distracted,

Camille, did not notice Ramon’s movement.

Anton gritted his teeth and watched the two leave, without moving for a while. Zara stood still behind

him, saying nothing but feeling guilty.

For a long time, Anton sat down on the roadside and punched hard the tree next to him, cursing, “Shit!

Damn it!”

Zara came over and said quietly, “You should chase her, and explain!”

Anton grinned, “Do you think Camille can listen to the explanation now?” Zara did not answer.

“Sorry, it’s my fault...”

Anton waved his hand to stop her apology, shaking his head and saying, “It should happen. It will

happen one day. Camille doesn't trust me, so it will happen sooner or later! I don't trust Ramon, and I

am afraid that he will do something bad to her.” Anton sighed and couldn't go on.

Zara did not speak, waiting next to Anton.

At noon, Dolores heard about what happened to Anton and her sister, so she went to find Anton. Anton

was depressed all morning and finally found the people to confide. Anton and Dolores talked for a long

time. For this matter, Dolores did not know whether to be happy or worried, or both. She never stopped

adoring Anton, but because her sister and he got serious, she had to keep this feeling at the bottom of

her heart. Now they two had a crisis in the relationship, Dolores felt a little happy. But she cared more

about Camille’s feelings and did not want Camille to be sad.

Dolores told Anton a lot, especially about the girl's thoughts. “It's just unbearable for a girl to see her

beloved with another girl, not to mention the boy also asked another girl to rebuke her. Camille has

been pampered since she was a child, and she can't take it when such a thing happens. You know little

about the girl's thoughts!”

Anton, after hearing these, felt regretful and deemed that he went too far, asking, “So what should I do

now?”

Dolores said with a laugh, “You should apologize to Camille! Maybe there is a chance to fix your

mistakes.”

Anton was in a dilemma. On one hand, he wanted to make an apology. On the other hand, when he

remembered Camille to let Ramon put his arms around her waist and left together in front of him, he

burst into anger again. But he did not say this to Dolores, nodding to run around her.

Anton was in a bad mood, so he drank with Carl and Jasper. Carl saw that Anton had something on his

mind and asked him what happened. But Anton never spoke, just drinking without stopping. Sixteen-

year-old as he was, Anton also finally felt the bitterness and helplessness of love.

He did not know how much wine he drank. At last, Anton was totally drunk. It was the first time that he

was drunk so totally and so unconsciously. Carl and Jasper helped him back to the hotel.

Since then, Anton and Camille were in a cold war. Neither of them actively was nice to each other, but

both were concerned about each other. Even if they happened to meet at school, they turned their

heads and pretended not to see each other. Later, Anton felt that always seeing Camille was

embarrassing, so he rarely went to school, and was busy with things in the gang all day.

A lot of things happened in J City during that time. First, the mayor was transferred (of course, a flat

transfer! He went to S. City to serve as the mayor. It was common in the 1990s. A mayor managed one

city badly, so he was flatly transferred to another city to serve as the mayor!) A new mayor was

appointed. Secondly, another important director claimed he was old enough to retire. Thirdly, other

government officials in J City was either transferred or retreated. Half of the government officials left.

Mr. Gilbert was transferred to Atlanta to serve as the director. The big replacement was described as a

big change of J City.

Once the new mayor came into office, he was determined to build J City into a new modern city so he

conducted a lot of construction.

The new mayor, Mr. Baker, learned the lessons of his predecessor and began to work on the

management of gangs in J City. Shortly after he took office, all police officers were dispatched to

conduct a sweeping inspection of the business premises in terms of four issues (to eradicate crime,

pornography, drug, and gambling). During this time, the gangsterdom was panicked, and the number of

battles among gangs was down dramatically. The people of J City were also full of confidence in the

new mayor, feeling that they could finally live a life of peace.”

The Anton Brotherhood was one of the biggest drug dealers in J City. But this time it did not escape the

inspection. One day five places were closed down, and the police took more than 20 people away.

Youth Gang faced an even worse situation for it was involved in pornography, drug, and gambling.

When the new mayor knew Youth Gang was the biggest gang in J City, he was intended to take it as a

demonstration of his determination. Under his leadership, 20 places owned by Youth Gang were

inspected, with hundreds of people captured. Other gangs were also influenced. They were angry,

scolding the new mayor for setting back gangs in J City by at least five years.”
