Arrogant Man VS Unyielding Woman

Chapter 444 Things Have Really Come Full Circle

Chapter 444 Things Have Really Come Full Circle

It was only at that time that Joy was the most vulnerable and least cautious.

Even if she knew that it was going to get her in hell of a lot of trouble of entirely another sort if she told

the truth, she would have had no choice but to agree in order to save Shirley.

As for why Jean didn't threaten her after Shirley was sentenced, especially when it would get her to

agree so much faster?

The answer was simply because it was wrong to do that.

After Shirley was sentenced, Joy would agree to do anything to save her even if it meant doing

whatever Jean asked.

However, Joy was not a total idiot and was sure to make every possible effort and try to hide whatever

evidence had come to light of their deal. And if Jean did not fulfill her promise, she would have exposed

that deal to the media, which would have gotten both Jean and Zed into quite a lot of trouble.

Therefore, it was clearly advisable for Jean to stay cautious and not make any hasty decisions.

Anything was possible before Shirley had been sentenced.

"Why do you doubt the cause of your mother's death?" Joy thought for a long time. Finally she tried to

calm herself down and asked Jean.

"I doubt it thanks to you. Otherwise I would have never come to know that there was even a possibility

of an alternate cause. So, Joy, don't ever try to fool me because you are nothing now!" Jean coldly

ordered.

'Sure enough!'

Joy closed her eyes for a few seconds and suddenly started remembering about how she had totally

lost control of herself and almost strangled Jean in the hospital. It was clearly at that time that Joy had

muttered something about Jean's mother in her fury and Jean had caught on to it.

And only then did Joy realize that Jean has been suspecting her for a long time now and was willing to

find out the truth no matter where it took her.

'If I don't tell her everything today, Shirley is going to be sentenced without doubt and I am bound to

lead a poor life alone.

If I had known that this was going to happen one day, I would have completely ignored Shirley's advice

and actually strangled Jean.

If it weren't for Jean, Shirley would not be in prison right now!'

Joy clenched her fists tightly with a murderous look on her face.

"It's too late for you to regret what you did. From the day I suspected that something else was at play, I

began to closely investigate exactly how my mother died. I certainly won't tell you what I have found out

till now. But Joy, this is a god opportunity for you and if you don't want to seize it, well, it would be my

pleasure to tell you that both Shirley and you are going to spend the rest of your life in prison!"

Jean looked at Joy and warned her with a sneer.

"What did you say?" Joy's murderous look suddenly disappeared. Instead, she started looking at Jean

in shock, and her body began to tremble.

"You heard me clearly! And I for one, am not patient enough to wait around for your answer or repeat

my sentences again and again. Jean said indifferently. "If you don't want to seize this opportunity, then

we will meet again in the police station."

Saying that, Jean turned around majestically and started walking towards the door.

Joy bit her lips and glared at Jean with resentment. A million thoughts were flashing across her mind at

once. 'Is what she said true or not? How much does she know?

It's impossible that she knows everything. I had already taken care of everything the very same year as

I did the deed. And there was no way there were any clues.

Jean may be lying. She just wants to scare me so that I tell her the truth.

No, I can't tell her the truth!

If I tell her, it means I have accepted and confessed to everything I have done and that will get me into

so much trouble.'

"Jean, do not threaten me." Joy glared at Jean's back in anger and shouted furiously,"I really don't

know why your mother died. I just thought there was something wrong with it. But it had nothing to do

with me, you hear me? Nothing!"

"Really?" Hearing Joy's words, Jean turned around like the wind and roared as she stared coldly at Joy

and walked over to her step by step.

Her icy cold stare was making Joy more and more scared by the minute.

"What do you want to do?" Joy could not help stepping back in front of her anger and staring at Jean in

fear.

"What are they doing?" Moore was standing by the window and paying attention to everything that was

going on outside. Seeing Jean slowly walk over to Joy with a murderous look on her face, he could not

help asking Zed nervously. "Jean looks angry. Has Joy done something bad to her?"

"Joy has done a lot of bad things. But I have never seen Jean this angry. And whatever it is, I don't

think Jean wants us to know, which is why she told us to stay in the house and not follow her." Zed

agreed with a frown but he clearly knew Jean's intentions better.

"What should we do? Shall we go out? Is it okay if we leave the two of them alone?" Moore asked with

concern in his voice.

"Look at Joy. She is terrified of Jean, isn't she? So whatever it is, we don't have to worry. Jean can

clearly handle it herself." Zed comforted Moore.

"Zed, you know Jean best." Moore looked at Jean once again and immediately smiled.

"Me?" Zed smiled bitterly. "If I really understood her and cared about her well enough, I would have

figured out what the hell was going on out there, and exactly why the atmosphere is so strange and

tense!"

"You find it strange too? Me too! What should we do?" Moore asked nervously.

"Let's wait and see what happens for the moment! Let Jean put on a show, so to speak... As I said, she

may not want us to know about the situation since she told us to stay in the house." Zed let out a sigh.

Hearing Zed's words, Moore also nodded and looked at Jean and Joy in silence. He was really

confused. Property © NôvelDrama.Org.

'Jean, what are you doing?

Do you still hold some more secrets about the Wens?'

"What do I want to do?" Outside, Jean heard Joy's words, sneered and glared at her in fury. "Do you

even know what I have gone through? What I have felt? What I have experienced? Do you have any

idea what I went through, Joy? DO YOU? After I found out the truth, I wanted to kill you in the cruelest

way possible. I don't know what stayed my hand! So Joy, if you don't do as what I say, you're going to

be in so much trouble from me! I will punish you exactly the way you treated my mother on that fateful

day!"

"You…" Joy immediately stared at Jean in horror, too afraid to say anything now. She was confused,

terrified, and angry at the same time.

"I don't need to know exactly how you murdered my mother in the past. I already found out evidence

about her murder myself. How do you feel now? Do you want to see the evidence, Joy? Even after

twenty years, are you going to have nightmares after seeing it? Will you dream of the scene where my

mother begged you for her life and you didn't listen?" Jean stared at her in fury and uttered every single

word separately in a tone that would have frozen fires in hell.

"Stop blaming me! I know that you are lying…" Joy shouted as if she had gone mad.

"Did you just say that I was lying? Do you know Joy, my mother tore a piece of cloth from your dress as

she struggled from her life. And therein lies the evidence. My grandmother found it and began to doubt

the cause of my mother's death. After investigating secretly, she also found out it was the same dress

you were wearing that day!"

"A piece of broken dress doesn't prove anything. You can't even prove it's mine." Joy's facial

expression quickly changed into total terror, but she still tried to deny the fact.

"Yes, I knew you were gonna say that." Jean gave a cruel smile. "But after you discovered that your

dress had been ripped in the struggle that ensued, you got really anxious to destroy it! Unfortunately,

my mother's maid saw it. When she saw you sneak outside, she secretly followed you and saw you

throw it into a ruin. I have so much evidence now. Do you still want to deny the fact?"

"I sent Kate away and married her to a man in the north. How did you find her?" Joy's eyes suddenly

widened and she enquired in shock.

"She had a deep affection for my mother. And all thanks to you, she married a villain. In the second

year of her marriage, she was almost tortured to death but survived. And the villain she married, well...

He was killed by some other thugs for making troubles. So things have really come full circle, haven't

they? Kate did not know where she should go after her husband died. But every few years, she came

back and visited my mother's grave."
