Chapter 454 What's Wrong With You
Chapter 454 What's Wrong With You
Both of us are abandoned by fate. I don't want you to live with hatred in the future. As far as I know,
Moore is quite cheerful and lively. He has such a beautiful and bright smile."
Moore looked at Jean affectionately and nodded. He had a little hoarse voice as he said,"OK, I promise
you. When I'm ready, I'll seriously talk to him."
"Well, this is the Moore that I always knew," Jean said as she smiled. She felt a little nervous as she
saw Zed and Ian get off the coach. She said,"It looks like they are almost done talking."
Moore looked into the room and found Zed and Ian going out together.
"Let's go there then!" Jean said to Moore.
Moore nodded and then the two of them went towards the door.
Just as they reached the gate, Jean saw Ian had held Zed's hand to bid him goodbye.
"Ian, please stay for dinner," Jean asked Ian to stay until dinner.
"Thank you, Mrs. Jean! But I have to go back to the police station to deal with some things." Ian looked
at her and refused her invitation.
"As you are quite busy, I won't keep you for much longer. Please stay for dinner the next time you come
over." Jean smiled at him.
"Okay! I'm afraid I must say goodbye now." Ian looked at Zed and nodded as he turned around to
leave.
As Jean saw Ian leave, she hurried up to Zed and asked,"How did it go?"
Zed looked up to Jean. He had no emotions on his face and he said,"Why don't you guess?"
"What? I asked you about it and you are asking me to guess?" Jean stamped her feet and pouted,
pretending to be angry.
Moore smiled as he had a smile on his face. He sighed in relief.
'Since Zed is in such a good mood, the matter must have been settled satisfactorily.' thought Moore.
"Well, don't stand outside. Zelda had been waiting for us in the dining room," Zed reached out and held
Jean's hand, then he said in a low voice,"Let's talk while we eat."
As Jean heard that, she nodded and said to Moore,"Moore, let's go have dinner!"
"Okay!" Moore smiled and nodded as he followed the couple to the dining room.
Many delicious foods were seen on the table which aroused their hunger.
But this time, Jean was not concerned about the food. Instead, she was quite eager to hear Zed's
answer.
"Let's have dinner first!" Zed saw that Jean was not interested in eating so he said,"I won't tell you until
you are full."
As soon as Jean heard that, her heart hitched. She looked at Zed and asked,"Are you implying that you
didn't succeed in persuading Ian? And you are afraid that I will lose appetite after I hear the news?"
"You will lose appetite?" Zed looked at Jean with a strange expression on his face. "Jean, when did you
start caring whether Shirley lived or died?"
"I've always been caring about her, okay?" Jean rolled her eyes and said,"Shirley and I are enemies
but we are related by blood. She bullied me during my childhood, and I had always wanted to bully her
too. But that doesn't mean I want her to die! Besides, we have promised Joy. We must try our best to
do what we promised."
Zed and Moore heard what Jean said and exchanged a glance. They both were at a loss of words.
Moore felt helpless and he shrugged.
Zed sighed and said,"I know you are very kind, but I didn't realize you cared so much for Shirley. Even
if she killed Winner, you still don't want her to get what she deserves?"
"I..." Jean felt a deep sense of helplessness. "Maybe you both won't believe what I say. I was bullied by
Shirley and Winner in my whole childhood, but without them in the picture, I would have been a lonely
kid. I know you both won't understand this! Even though I hate them with all my heart but there is some
part of me that appreciates them. It's just the gratitude that I never show."
Zed and Moore were shocked, but they understood what Jean meant.
It was quite impossible for Henry and Joy to care for Jean, or show any concern for her.
So the only affection that Jean remembered was actually when Shirley and Winner bullied her.
Jean did not only have hatred in her heart when she was a child. That was why she grew up to be quite
kind.
Jean was not how people saw her, kind and lovely. She was in fact a dumb blonde.
Even when she was bullied, she felt affection towards her relatives. She surely had a sad life.
It was Jean's optimistic attitude towards life that made her happy with what she had.
At the moment, Zed and Moore felt pity for her.
Especially Moore as his eyes became red.
Now he knew what Jean meant when she comforted him in the garden earlier.
If you looked at the bad things positively, you would be happier even if the outcome was not good.
If you were happy, everything would turn out to be all right.
Such an attitude towards life was what made people think more about life.
Moore felt a little ashamed, he raised his glass and said,"Jean, I misunderstood you earlier. I thought Belongs to NôvelDrama.Org - All rights reserved.
you were convincing me just because you didn't want me to look for an escape all the time. Now I
finally understand what you meant back then. A toast to you!"
Jean looked at Moore in surprise, picked up her glass and clinked it with Moore's. "It's great that you
finally understand. If you don't think too much, you won't have to pay much attention to what you gain
and what you lose."
"Yeah, you're right!" Moore nodded immediately.
Zed sat in the corner. He didn't understand what they were talking about, but when he saw them
smiling, he could not help but smile too.
"Well, I won't keep you in suspense any more. I succeeded and finally persuaded Ian. So as long as
Shirley wakes up, no matter what her charges are, there will only be one result which we all expect,"
Zed announced and smiled.
"Really?" Jean asked happily.
"Of course it's true! Is there anything I can't do?" Zed said proudly.
Jean was so excited that she poured herself another glass of red wine. She then raised her glass to
Zed. "Zed, I salute you!"
"Why is this toast for me? Because of Shirley's case?" Zed asked her intentionally.
