Arrogant Man VS Unyielding Woman

Chapter 473 Repeat Your Words

Chapter 473 Repeat Your Words

"What did you say? Please repeat your words!" Henry couldn't help but ask. He shockingly got off the

bed and stopped right in front of Joy. He had his eyes wide open and stared straight into hers.

Watching Henry's reaction, Joy swallowed the bile that was rising on her throat. She had never

expected such a reaction.

She took a look at him and then repeated her words. With fear-stricken face, she explained all her

previous mistakes.

Jean leaned closer to Zed as she couldn't bear hearing those disgusting words spoken again. Sadness

took over her and she wept quietly.

'Mother, did you see that?

I managed to clear your name.

What will the man you loved so deeply think now?

No matter what he thinks, I will never forgive him. He chose not to believe you. Instead, he believed the

lies which Joy fed him. I can never forgive him for that!

Originally I didn't plan to let him know the truth, but I didn't want your name to be stained. Everybody

deserves to know the truth.

Besides, Joy is going to turn herself in tomorrow. It's more persuasive to let Henry hear the truth from

Joy.

Mother, you can rest in peace now, '

Jean thought silently and tried to bring a smile back onto her face. With her head placed on Zed, she

felt better. The weight on her shoulder had just lifted.

Zed supported and comforted Jean by tightly hugging her with his arms. He hated seeing her sad and

wanted to put a full stop to her sorrows.

The silent room suddenly awakened with a sharp noise. Henry had placed a sharp slap on Joy's face. It

echoed in the extremely quiet ward.

Jean was startled with the sound and she looked up. The scene in front of her was that of Joy covering

her red cheek with her hand. Suddenly, Joy let out a loud cry. Humiliation was written all over her face.

It was evident that she didn't expect this slap.

As for Henry, he was standing before Joy and staring at her with his eyes widely opened. He accused

Joy angrily in a cold voice. "I can't believe that the woman who has slept beside me for all these years

is a murderer. Joy, you are so evil. You not only killed Yvette but also ill-treated Jean. How can you be

so vicious!"

Before Henry finished his words, he fell down to the floor. Sitting down, he let out a small cry.

"Henry..."

Joy cried out as she watched him fall.

Everyone present was shocked as it happened all of a sudden.

Without wasting any time, Zed hurried to take care of Henry. Henry was already unconscious and his

eyes were closed tightly.

"Call the doctor," Zed screamed, looking at Jean.

Jean was astonished and it took her a while to make sense of the situation. Zed called her again and

that was when her mind snapped back to reality.

Deep down, guilt overtook Jean. Her intention was to clear her mother's name but she completely

forgot to consider how Henry would take this information.

Although Jean wouldn't forgive Henry, she still didn't hate him. He was her father and that love

remained. She wished him no harm. Nôvel(D)rama.Org's content.

The doctor arrived soon and examined Henry's situation quickly. Then he spoke with a serious

look,"The patient got too excited and fainted. But he will hopefully be alright. The question is whether

he can wake up on time. If he can't, then there's nothing that I can do to help."

As the doctor finished his words, he left the ward.

Upon hearing the doctor's words, Jean was astonished. Finding the news too hard to take, she took a

step back.

'What did the doctor mean by saying there's nothing he can do?

If he won't wake up soon, does that mean that he will never wake up again?'

Realizing the seriousness of the issue, Jean rushed forward and stood close to Henry. She stared at

his pale face and spoke in an exciting voice,"Henry, wake up! You've been a coward for twenty years.

Are you going to stay like that? Don't you think you owe me an apology now? Don't you feel guilty

about blaming my innocent mother?

Henry, you owe it to my mother. If you don't apologize to her, I won't forgive you even if you go to hell. If

you don't want me to torture you, then wake up now. There's no use in running away from me."

Jean got excited and her face flushed red. Watching Jean break down, Zed gave her a tight hug. His

touch instantly soothed her up. "Jean, don't worry. He'll be all right. Don't be too excited."

"How can I be not excited?" Jean cried and covered her face with her hands. "What did I do to deserve

this? I did so much just to hear that he apologizes to my mother. But now he is lying there and won't

even move."

Jean became sadder and sadder. She couldn't stop herself from crying. Tears were running down her

eyes and dripping off her chin.

"I apologize and I will say it to Yvette in person."

A weak voice replied, breaking the quietness of the ward.

Jean was stunned to find that Henry had uttered these words. Slowly, he turned his pale face to Jean.

"Henry, you woke up?" Joy cried out and rushed to his bedside. She was so happy to see Henry wake

up and forgot all about her guilt.

Henry took a look at Joy and felt a piercing pain in his heart. Not wanting to talk to this wretched

woman, he gave a heavy sigh instead.

Noticing Henry's complicated and ambivalent look, Joy put on a bitter smile and said,"I know you won't

forgive me. And I don't deserve your forgiveness. Henry, I love you. That's true. And that's why I did so

much to stay by your side. I'm pleased to have had the honor to keep you company for twenty years. I

just hope that you won't blame Shirley for what I did. It's not her fault.

Henry, she's innocent. Although she did something wrong, it's my fault to not have taught her to behave

right. I hope you can take good care of her after I leave. Please don't let her suffer too much in the jail.

You know our daughter. She has lived a fun-filled life. I'm really worried that she might not survive this

harsh jail atmosphere.

It's all my fault. I'm not a good mother so she ended up like this. Henry, please forgive Shirley for what

she did since I've kept you company for twenty years. This is the least you can do for me,"

Joy begged and begged. Her pleading eyes looking at Henry, she cried.

Henry didn't reply a word to Joy. Feeling nothing but hatred, he moved his eyes away from her face.

Not getting Henry's answer, Joy felt disappointment surge through her.

She took a deep look at Henry and then covered her mouth with her hand as she rushed out of the

ward.

Upon hearing the sound of the door closing, Henry trembled and his face turned even paler.

"You just woke up. Do you need the doctor to check you up?" Zed asked with concern in his voice.

Henry was surprised to hear that and took a look at Zed. Then his pale eyes fixated on Jean's face.

It seemed that Henry held back words deliberately and a hint of sorrow flashed from his eyes.

Jean moved away her eyes quickly as she couldn't bear to meet his eyes. Something about his look

made her feel discomfort.

Although this was not how Jean wanted things to go, she had always waited for this day. Her biggest

wish was to see guilt in his eyes.

Yet now that the day had finally come, it filled her with an uneasy feeling.
