Back in Time: Unshackling From Love (Mikayla Davidson)

Chapter 32

Chapter 32

Upon mentioning Lumina, Mikayla counted the time and suddenly realized something.

“Celeste, why didn’t you take a leave and accompany Dr. Chance abroad?”

“I’m not free. The maid at my mother–in–law’s house took leave, so I had to clean and cook for them every day. I also have to do exercises with my mother–in–law at night.”

“Find a temporary maid then. You should go to Lammina with Dr. Chance,” Mikayla continued, “You haven’t had a honeymoon. It’s a perfect opportunity to make up for it.”

Celeste was tempted but still refused. “Forget it. My visa has expired. I’ll think about it next time.”

“You can renew the visa or find a travel agency for a tour. It’s a great opportunity! Don’t you want to have some private time with Dr. Chance?”

Celeste was swayed. “Should I give it a try?”

“Do it right away!” Mikayla prompted.

Celeste found it strange. “You rarely ask about my husband and me. Why are you suddenly so concerned about us today?”

Mikayla responded calmly, “My marriage was a failure, so I hope my friend won’t follow in my footsteps. Is that wrong?”

Celeste remained silent.

Even though Mikayla wasn’t usually emotional, Celeste was convinced. “You’re right. I’ll check on my visa.

“Okay.”

After hanging up the phone, Mikayla sighed in relief.

If her memory served her right, Nolan Chance encountered his ex–girlfriend when he went on a business trip to Lumina in the previous life.

Nolan’s ex–girlfriend got transferred to his hospital. Celeste and Nolan quarreled since

then.

Mikayla hoped Celeste’s trip abroad could change the trajectory of certain events.

Now that she was done with all the talking, Mikayla continued to refine the investment

proposal.

She aimed to finish and hand it over to Taylor soon.

Data analysis might seem dull, but it provides insights into a company’s operational development. It was exciting and fulfilling to take a company public.

Mikayla finally completed the proposal after pulling an all–nighter.

As she looked up, she realized the sky was brightening up.

Perhaps the fatigue had worn off, but Mikayla found herself unable to sleep.

On a whim, she grabbed her camera and headed to the rooftop to capture the sunrise.

There was a small garden, pool, and lounge on the rooftop. Mikayla settled into a chair.

There was still a bit of time until the sun would rise. The morning breeze was refreshingly cool. Mikayla leaned back comfortably, and before she knew it, she dozed

off.

When she opened her eyes again, sunlight bathed her entire body.

Rubbing her eyes and stretching lazily, Mikayla noticed a piece of clothing on the ground. She lowered her eyes and saw a black suit.

The meticulous fabric and fine craftsmanship revealed the owner’s status.

Mikayla carried the camera and the suit down to the living room. Amy was watering the

plants.

Noticing Mikayla, Amy said, “Madam, why did you sleep on the rooftop? I went to call you for breakfast but couldn’t find you. I was shocked.”

“I wanted to capture the sunrise but accidentally fell asleep.“.

Mikayla tossed the suit jacket onto the sofa. “Mrs. Amy, did you cover me with this?” Property of Nô)(velDr(a)ma.Org.

“I think Mr. Miller did that,” Amy continued, “I told him that I couldn’t find you, and he saw your phone was still there. Since you didn’t change your shoes, he thought you must be home and asked me to keep searching.”

“I searched for a while, and he told me you were sleeping on the rooftop.”

Did Jerome come back last night?

Mikayla was too immersed in her work to notice.

But she wondered why Jerome didn’t wake her after seeing her sleeping on the rooftop. Instead, he had covered her with his suit jacket.

“Madam, your oatmeal and bagel are still warm. You can eat them anytime you want,” Amy said.

“Okay, I’ll freshen up first.”
