Chapter 36: I have to go back
Chapter 36: I have to go back
It was chaos.
I should have passed by the warriors who would help Xyrus but no one came. And now I know why, the packhouse was under attack as well.
Warriors of this pack are well-known for their strength and agility, they could take down as many opponents in a battle. They were skilled, feared, and specially trained by Xyrus and former Alpha Caden himself to become invisible in a battle.
But the council must have thought of that well, as they got not just the element of surprise but numbers. It was absolutely an unfair fight, one warrior versus a five or more. It was crazy.
Maybe the war was not just because of the treaty being broken, but the council aimed to wipe out the whole pack. They will finish what they had failed to do last time.
"Luna!" Gabbiel shouted, he had just taken down a wolf, his arnis sticks flipping on his hands. "In here."
I followed him through the back until we reached the secret door on the wall leading to the underground room designed for something like this.
"They are in here, now go inside!" He insisted, worry clouding his face.
"I'm a warrior too Gabbiel, I'm staying!"
"We have to keep you safe, the alpha commands it, he will kill me if anything happens to you." He insisted, "Please..."
"Send someone to Xyrus, he needs help." I pleaded.
"I'm on my way." He gestured at the wall with roots loosely hanging onto it. "Please Luna, we can't afford you getting hurt. If you die, alpha will die too."
"Be safe." He nodded and tapped the bricks as a secret door revealed, I went inside and the door closed.
The room was empty, it was like a cozy living room with bookshelves on the side, carpeted floors, and sofas around. It was designed this way to trick outsiders that this is just a common room.
I kneeled on the carpeted floor, revealing a secret door underneath it. Going down, I was greeted by many female young and adults. Worry showed on their face.
"Oh my gosh, Willow!" Callie attacked me in a hug. "Thank goodness you're safe." She was crying, Elony and Heather joined us.
"Where is your twin?" I asked.
"She's hurt." Her eyes are puff and swollen. "The pack's doctor treating her wounds, she got bitten, Willow. Wolves just appeared out of nowhere, it was terrible!" She sobbed.
"Shhhh.." I rubbed her back. "Cassey's going to be okay and so is everyone else."
"Are you hungry?" I nodded at Heather and she went to grab some food on the table.
"Seat here first." Elony guided me into a nearby sofa."The council will gonna pay for this!" She said angrily.
A murmur of yes broke into the group of other females in the room. They all look so worried, some children were crying.
A painful cry came from Cassey at the far end of the room, Callie rushed to her sides. I was about to get up when Elony stopped me. "No, stay there. You have to eat and rest." And she joined Callie.
Heather went back with a plate of sandwich and fruits and a glass of orange juice. I hungrily eat my food and Heather went for another plate to refill mine.
"Hey." a voice called at my side. It was Ehren. She has an uncomfortable smile. "Mind if I seat?"
"Not at all."
"Ahm, are you alright?" She asked after settling in a chair in front of me.
"Yeap." I simply replied.
"Look, Uhm, I just want to say sorry. I, I don't know what I was thinking, I." she stuttered. "I hope we could - you know, patch up things and start anew."
She was nervous, I could tell. I gave her a small smile. "I think it would be wonderful to have a friend like you," I said truthfully.
She smiled as well and get up to hug me. "Thanks, Luna, you really are amazing."
She said and went to join the other girls.
"Looks like she finally stops bitching." Heather commented, giving me another plate of food. Exclusive content from NôvelDrama.Org.
"That's so rude to say, Heather!" I playfully scolded her.
Heather shrugged her shoulders and laughed with me.
"Where's Tash anyway?" I asked, noticing a missing Tasca.
"She's fighting with the warriors along with other skilled female members." A look of worry crossed her face. "There were too many of them Willow, do you think we might stand a chance?"
"I'm sure we do."
I finished my meal and stood up which startled Heather.
"I have to go back," I said with finality in my voice. "There is no way I'm just gonna sit here while Tash and the other warriors are fighting outside."
'And Xyrus.'
