Chapter 317
Chet sat up straight like he'd thought of something.
"Kieran is somewhat capable. The Randolph family is on the verge of bankruptcy, but he's still splurging away! Do you think he has other ways of making money?"
Frederick gave him a sidelong glance and said coldly, "Since when did you become such a busybody? You're indeed the encyclopedia of the business world!"
As he said this, Frederick was pondering. If he wanted to turn his fortune around through shares, he didn't mind helping him. This was his expertise. In recent years, he had done his research, so it was not difficult for him to make a profit of around ten million in a short time.
He would do it for Danica's sake!
Seeing that he was being looked down upon again, Chet shook his head speechlessly, "If I knew nothing about the things happening around us, would you still keep me?"
Chet had been trained by Frederick and had suffered a lot through the process. Now he was used to it! He would always pay attention to anything related to business. This was the result of learning from Frederick. He had become sensitive to business opportunities because he was smart, daring and had attention to details.
Chet felt a great sense of accomplishment, being able to remain by his side.
"Frederick, do you want to give him a hand? Kieran doesn't seem sincere. He didn't even show up when asking for help. What did he mean by sending his daughter? Looks like he's trying to order you around like a donkey."
Since he wasn't the one who actually asked for help, he wouldn't be the one owing the favor! And if he really managed to turn his fortune around, he'd probably backstab them and say that they were the ones who owed him a favor instead! What a sly fox!
"What did you say?" Chet was becoming more daring by the day. How dare he call him a donkey?
Chet snapped back to reality. He laughed dryly and said, "Just a slip of the tongue! It's just an analogy! I'm just making a metaphor!"
What was wrong with Frederick that day? He was being so picky. From the moment he came in, Chet could feel like he was shooting daggers at him! Chet reminded himself to be careful with his words after.
A thought passed through his mind. Subconsciously, his lips moved, but he did not say anything.
The next second, a cold voice came from the front, "Speak!"
"Frederick, I have ordered someone to clear out two villas in Lavender Garden. I went to take a look and found out that the environment was quiet and the location was good. It has two floors with a total size of about 360 square meters. It's fully renovated with its own garage. The price is about 43 million dollars! One of the villas is located deeper inside the community, which makes it quieter. As for the other villa, it's closer to the main road and more convenient. Both villas have an adjacent neighbor. One of the neighbors is from Casterwich City and only stays there occasionally. The other house is bought by a rich man for his mother. The old lady lives with a daughter. I've done a background check and everything is fine. Besides that, I have already placed the booking for a 50 square meter shop lot near Lavender Garden shopping mall. It's good enough to set up a small business there."
Frederick nodded.
He said, "I'll go for the one near the main road! Move in first and we'll decorate it later! Check and see if any basic amenities needed to be replaced! Pay all the bills in advance under my name. They were panicking the last time there was a power shortage."
"I understand. I'll take care of it!"
"Okay. As for the new product..."
As the two of them were talking, there was a sudden knock on the door. They looked at each other and Chet got up and stood to one side on his own accord.
"Come in!"
Giselle entered with trepidation and asked, "President, you wanted to see me?"
As soon as she received the secretary's phone call, her nerves were tight.
"Yes. You don't have to be nervous. It's just a simple procedure. I want to know more about each department. The International Department has always performed well! Do you have enough staff lately? How are the employees doing?"
Frederick was thinking about how to make her understand she shouldn't put too much pressure on Alicia. She was so busy that she would go to work early and come home late Sometimes, she was so busy that she didn't even have the time to answer his calls!
Although newcomers were supposed to work extra in order to catch up, no one was allowed to bully her!
As soon as something happened to Alicia, Giselle was summoned. No matter how stupid she was, she knew that this was the reason the President had ordered her to appear there.
She didn't understand the relationship between the two. Judging by Frederick's tone and the complaints from her staff, she had a slight prejudice against Alicia. She sorted out her thoughts before replying respectfully,
"Yes, President! The past two months have been relatively slow, so we've had more free time. Recently, most of the employees have been proactively handling the after-sales service as well as familiarising themselves with the new products... except for the new girl, Miss Blanchard. She's not experienced enough, so her performance isn't really up to scratch. Everyone else, though, is performing over and beyond our expectations!"
The implication was that the employees that Frederick ran into were chatting because there wasn't much to do. It was a special case. The others were all elites.
"Slow season? Are you talking about Alicia Blanchard?"
Frederick's tone was slightly questioning.
Standing to one side, Chet shot a glance at the woman in front of him, his eyebrow twitching.
Had he heard her wrongly? Alicia was not experienced?
As far as he knew, she was the most
talented person in the translation industry, and was a little famous. She could speak many languages. Though Russian was her specialty and she might not be as proficient in other languages, rumor had it that she'd once handled a tough client and had made it out alive. They'd gone through four different translators in a day, and even three at once. Apparently she hadn't stopped talking for a whole day. It was after that client that her worth had shot up! She was one of the highest paid translators in the industry, and there were a few
others that could compare.

Alicia could handle a group of picky nobles in different languages, but couldn't perform well in the International Affairs Department?
Was she joking?
At this time, Frederick was even more confused. This was totally different from what he had expected.
At this moment, he couldn't help but start to doubt whether they were bullying her. If it was the slow season, why was she so busy?
Seeing Frederick's face, Giselle thought that he was angry, so she quickly added fuel to the fire.
"Yes! It's possible that Alicia is unable to keep up because she has yet to undergo professional training and assessments, which is why we haven't passed anything important to her to handle yet."
Frederick's brows became even more tightly furrowed. "Then what's she doing every day?"
