Best Revenge: Being My Ex-Boyfriend’s Aunt

Chapter 2898

Larissa and Charity were utterly shocked by the scene.

It was inconvenient for Chester to walk, yet he was here to send them food.

"You two must've been busy the entire morning and haven't eaten. I've gotten my chef at home to make these." Chester gestured at Ken to place the insulated lunch boxes on the table. Inside them were mushroom soup, lobsters, and vegetables.

Larissa and Charity had been busy, so they were not hungry. They had even forgotten about eating. However, when they saw the food, their stomachs started growling.

"How could we accept this? You even brought them over yourself. We could've settled our meal in the canteen," Larissa said reluctantly.

"Don't say that, Aunt Larissa. I've also had many meals at your place for the past two days. However, I told the chef not to cook something too greasy because it's better to eat light and easily digestible food before surgery." Chester took a lunch box and handed it to Larissa.

He knew he had to please his mother-in-law to win over the woman.

Larissa beamed while Charity sighed and secretly called Chester a scheming man. Nevertheless, she still took a lunch box and started eating.

Any food tasted good when one was hungry.

Meanwhile, Chester consoled Charity and Larissa. "Don't worry. This is just a minor operation, and medicine is so advanced now that we won't use a scalpel but a laser to remove the polyp. The recovery is fast too. A week's rest should be sufficient.

"Aunt Larissa, don't overthink it. Dr. Washington is our hospital's best gynecologist. She has also cured many patients with cervical cancer."

It could be because Chester was a doctor, but Larissa started to feel less anxious as he consoled her.

...

At 4:00 p.m., Larissa insisted on Charity returning to feed the baby, so Charity went downstairs with Chester.

"Thank you so much for today." She walked on Chester's right side, and to match his pace, she walked slower too. "If it weren't for you, I wouldn't have brought my mom to the hospital for a checkup, hospitalized my mom so quickly, and had Dr. Washington be in charge of the surgery."

"Saying thanks isn't good enough." Chester suddenly raised his eyebrows. "You should express it with actions."

Charity was taken aback. "What actions do you want?"

"Treat me to a meal and a movie after your mother is discharged from the hospital," Chester said with anticipation.

The meaning of a single man and woman having a meal and watching a movie together was obvious.

Charity frowned and was in a little bit of a dilemma. However, it was a fact that Chester had helped her.

Besides, the grudges between Chester and her had long been cleared. He did not owe her anything anymore.

"Don't worry. I won't force you to date me." Seemingly having guessed Charity's thoughts, Chester smiled calmly. "I'm satisfied with seeing you every day now, and being able to have a meal and watch a movie with you is like winning a lottery."

"Okay. We'll do it after my mom recovers." Charity nodded.

"You'll most likely be caregiving at the hospital during this period, so just stay here. I'll take care of Cal for you. One of my legs may be disabled, but I still have Ken. Besides, I know whether or not the nanny has been caring for Cal properly. Most importantly, Cal seems to like me a lot."

Chester said with a smile, "He's happy when I carry him."noveldrama

"He's still so young. When isn't he happy whenever someone carries him?" Charity dampened Chester's enthusiasm. "Unless that person looks especially ugly."

Chester choked.

When they exited the elevator, they suddenly heard someone calling, "Chester."

Charity paused, and Chester's expression turned cold. He ignored that voice and continued walking toward the doors.

"Chester. Chester, wait for me."

Madam Jewell caught up to him.
