Chapter 2900
Chester sighed with an innocent-looking face. "It feels like you're under the impression that I'm expecting you to do something in return for my help. Forget it. I'll take a taxi, so I don't disturb Ken on his date. He's over 30 years old, but he doesn't even have a girlfriend because he was taking care of me. Poor Ken."
As he spoke, he opened the car door and looked like he was about to get down.
Charity was speechless. "Alright. I was joking. Just stay put. We're heading in the same direction anyway."
"I just don't want you to think of me badly," Chester said seriously. "I didn't mean it that way."
Charity did not say a word.
'I won't believe you didn't mean it that way.'
Charity scolded Chester mentally. However, she did not say anything else because she realized that no one could outspeak a shameless person.
That was how Chester was behaving.
His words were indirect and had hidden meanings to them.
"I'm going to start driving."noveldrama
Charity started the car. "By the way, will Cindy and your mother investigate my mother being hospitalized after seeing you in the hospital just now? Does my
mom have to transfer to another hospital?"
"Are you scared they'll bother your mother?"
"Yeah." Charity did not conceal her suspicions.
Larissa grew up in a small place, so she did not have a strong heart.
"I'll have Director Ashby assign a few bodyguards to that level so that no one disturbs Aunt Larissa," Chester said calmly. "Do you think transferring hospitals is that easy? Hospitals have the best business now. When you go to another hospital, you'll have to conduct a checkup and get in the queue to be hospitalized and operated on. It'll take at least a week for Aunt Larissa to get her turn. Of course, if you want a better doctor to conduct the operation, you might even have to wait for a month or two."
Charity was speechless.
Her scalp tingled. When she brought Larissa to get a checkup in the morning, she recalled a patient's family complaining that they had to wait three days before getting an endoscopy. There were even ticket scalpers selling queue numbers.
Chester reminded Charity, "Do you know how many people from other states come to Dr. Washington? Her appointment slots are full up till next month." Charity was speechless. After some time, she said, "Will your slots for the next half of the year be filled if you were the one on duty?"
"Our hospital only accepts appointments up to two months in advance."
Charity glanced at the man beside her. "I think your days have been pretty free and easy."
"I'm not." Chester denied it. Since she went to work in the mornings while Larissa stayed at home, he could take the chance to go to her house and visit his son.
Tsk. He did not mind nannying the baby at home every day.
Once the baby learned to walk and talk, he would regard Chester as his biological father. Well, Chester was the baby's father anyway.
As long as Chester won his son's heart, no pursuers could even have to think about wooing Charity.
Charity pouted. "Aren't you free? You're even planting vegetables in your garden. I remember it was my mom who plowed the soil, right? Well, now she can't help you with it anymore. She'll have to rest after the surgery."
"I can plant the vegetables and fruit trees myself. By the time Cal can eat solids next year, he might even have the chance to eat the fruits and vegetables I planted."
Charity scoffed. "Thank you, but my son doesn't lack that little bit of fruits and vegetables."
Chester stared at her quietly. "I planted them for Cal, not for you."
Charity had the urge to kick him out of the car at that moment. However, she
gritted her teeth and said, "Why don't you return to the hospital and be a doctor? It'll be a waste of your superb medical skills if you don't treat any patients."
"Do you want me to go back?" Chester asked all of a sudden.
What do you think?
