Chapter 127
Chapter 127
60 I Am Not Yours
Simone POV
I stand in my living room staring at the door where I have the four prisoners. I have no use for the other three. I suppose I could sell the brother and sister off as slaves to the coven. I’ll keep Calliope’s mother for a while to keep her compliant. I can’t keep giving her wolfsbane if I want to use her wolf. Once I’m done using her, I’ll kill them both. Why haven’t I heard any noise coming from that room yet? That kid didn’t shut up for five seconds before I left. Maybe bringing his sister back finally calmed him down. My mind starts to wonder if they are planning something stupid. If they think they can ambush me they are sadly mistaken. There is no way they could have gotten out of that room, so I know they are in there. I walk down the hallway and soon as I reach the door, I start to chant. I reach for the handle but before I pull the door open, I feel unsettled. I turn the handle and slowly open the door. My eyes search the room until they find two figures standing by the window. What the f**? “Let me make the introductions” a woman with long black hair says as she looks into my eyes. “My name is Lily and I’m the Gamma of the Nightfire pack. I’m a blessed witch and you tried to f**k with my family. I may be a light witch, but that doesn’t mean that I will allow people to hurt those that I love.” My eyes move to the woman standing next to her. “I’m sorry that was rude of me. This is Selma and she is another witch in my family. She is as powerful and pissed as I am, which is not good for you. You’re about to find out why dark will never beat light.”
“This isn’t possible. I would have known if I didn’t have her. I would have sensed your power.” She laughs and a feeling of fear settles in me. It’s not a feeling I often have and I really don’t like it. I focus on getting myself the f**k out of here. I need to regroup and make a new plan. The minute I try to teleport, I can’t reach my magic. “What the f**k have you done to me?” She smirks and I turn rushing for the door. I don’t make it two steps before I’m frozen in place. They begin to chant and my body
starts to feel hot like I’m on fire. I can’t even move my mouth to scream. The pain that passes through my body is like nothing I have ever felt before. I collapse to the floor and feel myself losing the battle to remain conscious. Before the darkness completely consumes me, I see the face of the dark-haired witch again. “As much as I would like to be the one that ends your pathetic existence, I have an Alpha waiting for you.” I’m left in darkness and honestly, I pray that I don’t wake up from this. I can’t feel my magic, so I will have no way to fight an Alpha wolf. This is all Grant’s f**king fault. I should have killed him instead of just rejecting his a**.
Evelyn POV
My eyes flutter open and I look around a room that I had hoped I would never see again. I’m grateful when I don’t see Grant lying next to me. I would hope he wouldn’t take me without consent, but I’m not sure what he is capable of after all he has done. I would never want Hudson to feel the pain of betrayal even if I wasn’t a willing participant. I know he would love me no matter what, but I still wouldn’t want that to taint our future. I sit up and slide from the bed. I can feel Sadie but she hasn’t answered me yet. I walk to the door even though I’m sure he has locked me in this f**king room. I jiggle the handle and of course, I’m right. I move to the window and I see a handful of wolves that I’ve never seen before guarding the grounds. The smell of rotting meat is prominent and it makes my stomach rebel. What the hell has he done? He sent the pack to the slaughter and he has rogue wolves guarding the pack house. Before I can give it any more thought, the lock disengaging gets my attention. I turn to face a man that isn’t a man at all. He is a monster that fooled me for years. As soon as he sees I’m standing next to the bed, he smiles at me. He can’t really believe that I am happy to be here. He is truly delusional to believe that I want to be anywhere near him. The only man I will ever want is Hudson. “I’m glad to see you’re awake so we can finally talk”, Grant says, like this is a normal conversation. “Alright Grant, you want to talk, let’s talk. Let’s talk about how you made me believe that you were my second chance mate. That you and my father conspired against me to form some fake bond. Better yet, let’s talk about you taking my pups away from me. Watching me suffer while I believed they were dead for the last eighteen years. My pups suffered because you want a mate that was never yours to have. I
hate you, Grant. I don’t know what you thought was going to happen here, but I hate you. I am not yours.”
“I know you are angry with me but I need you to see I did all of this for us. I have always been a good mate to you, Evelyn. I have treated you like a queen. I couldn’t raise someone else’s pups. I wanted to have pups with you. It just never happened,” he says. I can’t help the sick laugh that crawls up my throat. “Thank the goddess, we never had pups. I would never want to bring pups into this world that were a part of a monster like you. You think I’m angry with you. Grant, I want to watch you breathe your last breath. Angry is not the word for what I feel. I loathe you and I don’t want to breathe the same air as you.” I can see his eyes flash between his and his wolf’s. “Evelyn, I’m here with you” Sadie says. I’m so happy to hear her voice in my mind. I couldn’t be more grateful for Selma in this moment. She was worried that if Grant somehow got me, he would give me wolfsbane. She placed a spell on me to help me process it quicker. He starts to move toward me and Sadie pushes forward. I take him by surprise when I swipe my claw across his chest. He roars and reaches out to grab me. I move to the left and kick my leg out, catching him in the stomach. I need to get out of this room so I can shift.
I reach the door grabbing the handle before I feel myself being pulled back by my hair. Instead of fighting against the pull I step back. I turn coming face to face with Grant. His eyes are black as night now. “I loved you even if you weren’t my fated mate”, Thiago says. “Neither of you know what love is. You had a mate and you threw her away. You took me away from mine.” He whimpers and I watch as his eyes shift back to Grant’s brown color. “This is it Sadie, it’s time to end this”, I say as I extend my claw again. He slams me against the wall, but I stay focused on what I need to do. He has lost his patience with me and grips my throat with his left hand. I see something flash in his eyes and his gaze drops to my stomach. “Fine Evelyn, if I can’t have you than neither can that f**king disgusting werebear. You and his pup can die by my hand.” With those words the rage takes over. I reach up with my hand and force my claw into his chest. His eyes go wide, I’m sure from the shock and pain. “I hope
the goddess makes you relive this moment for all eternity.” My hand is wrapped around his heart and I squeeze until it stops beating. His grip loosens and his body drops to the ground. Content © provided by NôvelDrama.Org.
Blood drips from my fingers as I make my way out the door and downstairs. I regret nothing that just happened, but it’s still hard to believe that it’s over. Grant’s words play over in my mind. He had no reason to talk about a pup, but it doesn’t seem possible. “It is true, Evelyn. You were right about the goddess not wanting Grant to have a pup. We are pregnant with our real mate’s pup”, Sadie says. The front door to the pack house slams open and my eyes land on the man that the goddess made for me. He is covered in blood but he still looks amazing. He sweeps me into his arms. I bury my head in his neck and he does the same to me. “Grant is dead” I say and he relaxes further. “Hey, I would like to hug my mom too, dad.” We both freeze and pick up our heads. Cayden just called Hudson dad. My heart squeezes in my chest. Hudson sets me down, but before Cayden can hug me, Hudson pulls him into his arms. “Thank you, Cayden”, Hudson says. “You are my son.” He releases Cayden, who wraps me in a hug. “Don’t scare me like that again mom.” “I promise I won’t. I’m just glad it’s over.” We start for the door and Cayden stops walking. I turn to look at him and I can’t read his expression. “Cayden, what’s wrong?” “Mom, you killed the Alpha of the pack. Doesn’t that make you the Alpha?”
