CHAPTER 3

NORA.
“Liar!” I screamed at him, getting on my feet.
The rest of the pack gasped in awe, their eyes not leaving me.
My body was shaking but I tried to hide it. The last thing I wanted to do was to appear weak in front of this monster.
“You will not banish me away from my father’s pack, you can reject me and I will let that slide but I will not let you banish me away from a pack that was made for me!” I screamed at the top of my voice.
The night was quiet and only my voice could be heard.
Suddenly, Derrick began to laugh.
“Oh really?” He chuckled, “I knew it was going to come to this one day. But you might have forgotten that I was made Alpha last night. I have taken that throne away from you and whatever I say, stands!” He decreed, the smile on his face vanished.
I clenched my hands in a fist.
“I dare you! Derrick! I fucking dare you to banish me after sleeping with me, do you think that you can toss me out like a filthy rag? Huh?” I yelled at the top of my lungs.
The crowd gasped in shock.
There was a look of fear in Lara’s eyes, she quickly came closer to the crowd.
“She is a lair! The alpha will never do that! My sister has always been a slut and she will do anything to get what she wants even if it includes pinning an accusation on the Alpha.” She said to the crowd as they began to murmur.
Anger shone right from Derrick’s eyes.
“How dare you lay an accusation on me? You came into my chamber last night, an act that was forbidden. You came to me and tried to make me lay with you but I bluntly refused. It was then you confessed that you aren’t a virgin and you threw yourself at me.”
I was stunned.
How can a man I fell deeply in love with lie so good and want nothing but death for me?
I glanced at the faces of the crowd, there was a look of disgust in their eyes as they stared at me, it was at that point that 1 knew that they had chosen Derrick’s words over mine.

My head exploded in fury.
“It’s a lie! He touched me. Yes! I went into his room but I did that because he sent it to me. Please, don’t listen to anything he says, he is a liar and a cheater, you all once knew me, I have been with you all for years even when my father was alive. Everyone here knows what I can do, please believe me, I am saying nothing but the truth.” I cried aloud as I spoke, trying to convince the crowd but it was all in vain.
“I am ashamed of you Princess Nora and I am certain that your father will be restless in his grave.” Maxwell, an elder of the pack, spoke out as he came out of the crowd, his long gray beards strongly distinguishing him.
The Alpha has given his judgment, and there is nothing we the elders can do to change it. You have to leave the pack, right

I couldn’t believe my ens
I was dumbfounded.
Banished?
I glanced at Lara who smirked at me evilly, she went closer to Derrick who held her hand and I closed my eyes at the sight, my tears gushed unendingly.
1 sobbed silently.
I was crushed.
Felt used and deceived.
How foolish was it for me to cut down my father’s lineage by giving my birthright to him?
My heart was bittered as the pain of betrayal and rejection stinged more deadly than that of a poisonous serpent.
I felt the grip of two men who dragged me out of the pack. As I walked out, I turned to look at Derrick, our eyes met and a tear rolled down my face.
“Movel” One of the men pushed me forward and filled me with pain and shame.
Suddenly I let loose of their grip and ran out of the pack and deep into the woods.
Helt my legs wobble at every step I took, the moonlight gave way.
Tears blinded my eyes and I cried loudly, my hair swung in the direction of the wind.
Why?
What did I do to deserve this?
Suddenly, I felt thick dark hairs begin to cover my skin, I was panting loudly, and my vision suddenly became blurry.
“Argh!” I roared as the beast in me made its escape. In my four legs, I ran faster deep into the woods, as I broke down trees. that stood in my path. Content © NôvelDrama.Org.
A heavy rainfall began.
I ran further without any destination, I was soaked but every drop of rain on me infuriated me more and my heart burned.
Suddenly, I felt a sharp pain at the side of my stomach.
“Argh!” I screamed in unbearable anguish.
I halted and quickly transformed back into a human, this time, I was stark naked.
My hands were trembling as I gazed down only to find a sharp knife plunge into my stomach, blood gushed out like an overflowing river.
I was paralyzed by shock and I heard footsteps behind me.
“Die and rot in hell, you bitch!” A familiar voice cursed out in front of me.
With the last strength in me, I gazed up only to find Derrick staring at me with a pleased grin on his face.
I tried to speak but I couldn’t, deep darkness overwhelmed me.

Mon,

An odd smell grabbed my nostrils. My eyes were tightly shut and I tried to move but I couldn’t.
I heard a faint sound not far from me.
I groaned.
The agony I felt was so severe that my eyes flung wide open and stared at a dim light, my heart beating rapidly.
I was frightened to the core as I wondered where I might be.
“Am I dead?”
Suddenly, I heard footsteps behind me.
“Oh, you are finally awake.” An unfamiliar voice said.
I narrowed my gaze.
A figure walked and stood in front of me. An average–height man with short dark hair. In the dark, I could see his blue eyes struck on me and I wondered who this handsome stranger might be.
He smiled.
“I know that you are confused, you have every right to be.” He said and sat beside me.
I watched him bring out some pills and a glass of water.
“You have to take this.” He said to me,
I turned my head away.
He smiled. “You don’t have to be afraid of me, I am here to help you.” He said.
There was this warm assurance in his voice that I couldn’t ignore. He was calm and gentle and the smile on his face was so welcoming but I was done trusting people.
“Who are you?” I asked.
My throat was dry and my voice was hoarse.
He sighed deeply.
“I am sorry for not introducing myself but I am Leo, a doctor and I have been assigned to treat you.”
A part of me believed him but I was still skeptical.
“Treat me?” I asked.
He nodded, “Of course. You were found unconscious lying deep in the wood with a stab in your stomach.” He paused, staring hard at me as his brows furrowed, “You’re a very lucky lady. I am still confused about how you were able to survive such a deep wound.”
Immediately, the scene in the woods came crumbling in.
Derrick!
The evil grin on his face plastered heavily on my mind.
My heart twisted in pain as the horrible memories flooded in.
Tears welled up in my eyes.
“I have to leave,” I said immediately and tried to get up but a string pain whipped me back.
“Argh I groaned in anguish as it felt like my body was on fire.
“You can’t leave! Please, lay down or you will end up causing yourself more pain. The doctor said as he got on his feet and held my hands.
A tear found its way down my cheek and I looked away.
“I don’t know you or whatever you might have passed through to almost be killed. But right now, you are my patient and 1 need you to please relax and let me attend to your wound. You won’t be able to move with such pain. So now, I need you to open up and take these pills, this will help you curb the pain.” Lep said.
I turned to him and nodded. If the pills could take away the physical pain I was in, I would take then even if I was already broken inside.
He placed the pills in my mouth, I swallowed and gushed it down my throat with water.
“Better.” He muttered and gently laid me back on the bed.
I scanned the room.
Where am I?” I implored.
Leo took off his hand gloves. I watched him wash his hands in a sink not too far away from where I lay.
“You are in the Dominant Lycan pack,” he announced.
My eyes widened in shock.
“Lycans?” I mumbled.
I have heard so much about the lycans and how powerful they are.
I was dead–struck by this.
“What am I doing here? Who brought me in here? Are you also a Lycan yourself?” I asked all at once, I couldn’t help but feel
tense.
Leo laughed.
“Easy or you are going to give yourself a heart attack. We are Lydins doesn’t mean we are evil. We are just a different breed unlike you Alphas but you shouldn’t worry, you are in safe hands and I am here to serve you.” He smiled, winking at me.
I was skeptical and couldn’t hide my curiosity.
“Who brought me in here?” I asked.
Suddenly, the door of the room opened and a very tall but breathing man walked in. His hair was as dark as a raven, and the longest I have ever seen on a man’s head. His eyes were sharp green and held so much fierceness. His lips were red as blood that I couldn’t easily see from afar, and his dazzling white skin could not be ignored too.
Our eyes locked and we stared at each other, my heart lea
