Betrayed 13
Chapter 13
3RD POV
Alpha Derek stopped what he was doing and rushed down to the east wing passage along with Head Omega Beatrice and Omega Sim. When he caught sight of Lady Annabelle and her maid, his heart twisted in knots.
“Annabelle…” he called out to her, noticing how weak she was. He touched her neck, checking her temperature and finding her forehead burning hot.
“Fxck!” He immediately carried her bridal style to his room while assigning Head Omega Beatrice to take care of Omega May.
However, when Lady Emily saw Alpha Derek carrying Annabelle in such a passionate manner, her heart squeezed, and she felt tears falling from her eyes.
Luna Sandra couldn’t bear to see her crying, so she comforted her.
“He will come back to you soon. You know that’s how he usually is. Once he’s done with her, he will return to your arms,” the Luna reassured her. Emily found herself agreeing with the Luna, even though what had transpired today wasn’t how she had planned it.
Nonetheless, she was determined to have Derek back in her arms, by hook or by crook. She wouldn’t allow anyone to take her man from her and would do anything to make sure that happened, even if it meant eliminating Annabelle from the surface of the earth.
Alpha Derek stared at the sleeping beauty before him while awaiting the arrival of his personal doctor, who he had sent his guard to call.
She was beautiful.
He couldn’t help but notice the gentle rise and fall of her chest as she slept. Her peaceful face, her closed eyes, and her slow, steady breathing. Her skin was smooth and pale, her hair dark and a bit messy, and her lips looked so soft and kissable. She appeared fragile and vulnerable, and Alpha Derek felt a surge of protectiveness towards her. He wanted to keep her safe and make sure she was okay.

Her eyes suddenly fluttered open, and he felt his heart jump slightly in his chest.
“Gosh, you’re beautiful…” he said, making a blush creep onto Annabelle’s face as she smiled weakly.
“Where am I?” she whispered, her voice soft and barely audible.
“You’re in my room.”
“Your room?!” she exclaimed with a faint, shaky tone.
“Yes, my room.”
“How… How so? I was… I was locked up in-“She coughed, her voice not allowing her to complete her statement.
“Shhhh… You’ll explain everything to me when you’re okay. For now, I just want you to rest until my doctor arrives,” he told her, patting her chest softly.
At that moment, a knock sounded at his door!
“Alpha, it’s Doctor Park,” his guard informed him from outside.
“Fine, let him in,” Derek replied. The door to his room opened, and a middle–aged man with a stethoscope around his neck and a bag in his right hand entered the room.
“Alpha,” he bowed slightly.
“Great. Doctor Park, please give her a check–up. She was suddenly found in the east wing passage of this castle, weak and undonscious, along with her maid. I would like to know what is wrong with her.”
“Okay…” The doctor took out his stethoscope, wore it, and checked Annabelle’s pulse. Then he carefully lifted her eyelid, shining a small light into her eyes. Next, he carefully examined her neck and arms, checking for any signs of injury.
“I see…” he muttered, his voice barely audible.
“What happened, Doctor Park?”
“Wolfsbane poisoning.”
“What?!”

Yes, Alpha. From the look of things, she inhaled quite a large amount of wolfsbane, which made her weak”
“Wolfsbane? How? Where?”
“My lady, do you remember where you were earlier?”
“Yes…” Annabelle nodded.
“Cool.”
“Where was that, Anne?”
“I don’t know the room in particular, but I know it was dark and-” She coughed, her voice not allowing her to complete her statement again.
“It’s fine. You’re still affected by the wolfsbane. I’ll administer a drug to you and inject
you
with an antidote to clear it out.” He dipped his hand into his bag and brought out a tiny glass container containing the antidote and a syringe. This belongs © NôvelDra/ma.Org.
He plunged the syringe into the tiny bottle, drawing out a desired amount of antidote, and then he carefully administered it to Annabelle.
After checking her one more time, he straightened up and turned to Alpha Derek.
“She’ll be fine, Alpha. She just needs some rest and care.”
“Great. Thanks a lot, Doctor Park.”
“Anything for
you, my Alpha.” He bowed once more and turned to leave, but as if remembering something, he stopped in his tracks.
“I’m glad she was able to make you talk again, my Alpha,” he said and left the room, leaving Derek quite confused as to how he knew, but that wasn’t his main concern for
now.
Again, he watched in amazement as Annabelle slept peacefully. He checked his watch and saw that he had an hour and five minutes before his so–called party, prepared an organized by his mother, would begin.
Truth be told, he did not want to attend the party without the presence of Annabelle and he was willing to wait until she woke up before he started preparing for it.

A slight frown grew on his face when he heard another knock on his door. He wondered who dared disrupt his moment with his beloved, and when the door opened and Lady Emily entered, his frown deepened.
“Derek…”
“Get out!”
“Derek! I want to talk to you.”
“Do not make me repeat myself, Emily. Get the fxck out of my room!” he yelled, waking Annabelle.
When Annabelle saw the look on both their faces, she began to get up from the bed, but Derek held her still.
“You’re not going anywhere, Anne.”
“Anne? You even have a nickname for her now, huh?!”
“Emily, get out!”
“I won’t! Derek, this isn’t fair. She’s all but a slav-”
“Shut it!” Derek snapped, his eyes blazing with anger. “Zach, take this lady out of my room this instant!” he commanded his guard standing outside the door.
When his guard heard the instruction, he immediately entered the room to carry out his orders.
“And Zach, never allow her to enter my room without my permission. Understood?” “Yes, Alpha.”
“Derek, you shouldn’t be doing this to me…” Lady Emily cried as she was mercilessly thrown out of Alpha Derek’s room.
