Luca’s pov
Me claiming to be feeling relieved about the fact that Sofia and I are now back to the way we once used
to be, would be a really big understatement.
I had felt my heart swell countless times at the realization that it was no longer weird and tense
between Sofia and I. I knew I had been the one between the entire thing, and for that, I greatly regret.
But, now that we’re good, I’m prepared to do whatever it takes to make her extremely happy, keep her
safe and all to myself.
Not like anyone is actually trying to take her away from me?
Who would even dare?
Aside from the bunch of dummies who had decided to attempt catching me off guard on the day of her
arts exhibitions.
I rolled out from bed moments ago, and I’m currently standing in the bathroom, before the mirror,
regarding my reflection with a brooding look.
Last night was the first night I actually had more than two hours sleep in weeks, which once again, is
no one’s faults but mine.
I exited the bathroom after spilling some water over my face. My eyes lingered on Sofia’s sleeping
form. Her head was pillowed in the spot where my arm had previously been in, but I had slipped a
pillow beneath her head after waking up.
I exited the bedroom, heading into the gym, and then I proceeded to work out thoroughly for thirty
minutes.
After that, I made my way back into the bathroom and took a long shower. After getting dressed, I
couldn’t help it; I slid back into bed, just so I could stare at Sofia’s sleeping face some more.
A distant memory filled my head moments later, of when I had been in this same position, watching as
Sofia slept while still looking like this most stunning person to ever be created. RêAd lat𝙚St chapters at Novel(D)ra/ma.Org Only
Moments later, as if sensing my gaze, Sofia’s eyes fluttered open, making the spot in my chest thump
even harder against the front of my chest as I kept watching as color filled up her cheeks, and in that
moment, I promised myself to never, ever hurt her again.

The drive to work was very chaotic.
Firstly, an accident occurred on the road, stalling everyone in a particular spot for over an hour, which
got on every last nerves that I had.
Armani had said he might drop by the office today to come and have lunch with me, but I have a feeling
he wouldn’t actually be coming, although I'll be keeping a very open mind about today.
I have a lot on my schedule today, being the start of a week, and this delay which I’m currently facing is
undoubtedly going to affect my entire schedule today, and I absolutely detest when this happens.
On arriving at the office, I was greeted by a bunch of paparazzis all in my faces, asking me a bunch of
questions which I barely grasped before they all got shooed away like chickens while my guards led me
into the company’s premises. I wasn’t sure of what prompted the press’ presence this morning, seeing
as they actually aren’t interested in my boring daily routine except when I was attending some sort of
gathering, or back then whereby I usually had different women on my arm for every occasion I made an
appearance in.
As I got to my floor, I barked out a few orders at my three secretaries who have definitely been here
since about an hour ago.
In my office, I got to work instantly, knowing I needed to rush things up, because my secretaries are
already rescheduling my entire day, and rescheduling appointments, while pushing things to tomorrow
if they weren’t as important as the rest of the things left on the list.
And so, I allowed myself to get lost in work.
Six hours later and I felt like taking a three day long sleep without waking up InBetween, due to how
drained I currently feel. I was feeling relieved about the fact that I didn’t have any other meetings to
attend or host today, and it was obvious that James shared in that feeling, telling from the lax look on
his face.
We’re currently in his office, and I couldn’t help but stare around the interior design, realizing that it’s
been ages since I’ve been in here, because it’s completely different from what I remember it looking
like.
It also called the interior design of my own office ‘ugly’ in so many languages at once.
As soon as I made him aware of that, he was quick to remind me that he had pestered me to have the
interior of my office redesigned, and how I’ve always declined the offer, claiming that it’s unimportant.
“So,” James mused, legs folded atop his table which was very neatly arranged compared to mine. “You
and your wife are back-back together?”
I nodded, a small smile tugging at the sides of my lips. James let out a small snort and rolled his eyes a
little. “I mean, that was pretty obvious and the fact that you didn’t have to mention it for me to figure it
out, says a lot about you, just so you know.”
As James spoke, I felt a scowl grow on my face. “Fuck you, James.”
“What? I’ll pass. And just remember that I’m happy for you guys. I like seeing you happy, and you know
your wife does it so… effortlessly. You’ve been so low for weeks, and then as soon as you made things
right with your wife, your spirits just became automatically lifted.” James chuckled a little.
“Don’t mess this up again. Sofia is such a wonderful soul and I believe she deserves nothing but the
best.”
“I plan on giving her nothing but the best, and thank you, of course.” I responded with a small nod.
A few seconds passed before James broke the silence.
“What about… Lola? Is she gone for good?”
I leaned back into my seat as I spoke, mouth thinning in annoyance. “Oh… she had better, for her own
good.”
About five minutes passed after that, before I recollected that there was a particular thing that James
was supposed to discuss with me, but it had seemed like the timing had never been right the entire
time, and I reminded him of it immediately.
James sobered up instantly, sitting up and dropping his legs from the table, which got me even more
intrigued.
Moments later, James began to speak.
“Well… you see, there’s this girl…”
