Chapter 4
Nadine.
“What?”
A scowl appeared on my face, and I paused for a moment.
“I said-”
“I fucking heard what you said,” I blurted. “And I will not do it.”
My hazel eyes looked around in disbelief. I shoved out the tons of cash I had in my dress. “Here’s your money, all of it.”
“Doesn’t change the fact that you stole it,” he reminded me.
“What are you going to do?” I asked, taking a step forward, my eyes hardened in disgust. “Report me to my boss or what? Lock me up?” I paused and took a deep breath. “I don’t give a fuck. The last thing I’ll do is let you touch me.”
His coffee-brown hair fell to his sides, and the way he narrowed his eyes made me step back.
“Don’t dare me,” he warned, but I walked out before he could say another word.
When I reached the door, I pulled it open.
“Your job is in my hands,” he threatened, but I didn’t look back.
I hurriedly left the room and ran to the counter where Naomi was. By the time I got there, I was panting hard.
“Nadine?” She called. “What’s wrong? What happened to you?”
I kept turning back to see if he was after me, and I couldn’t stop the breathing pattern.
“I’m in trouble, Naomi.”
That was all I managed to say, but she kept asking for more details. This wasn’t how I planned to reveal this to her, but I couldn’t keep it to myself any longer.
“Clayton Rocco,” I whispered. “He’s after me.”
“I don’t get it. How?”
I breathed out. “I took his money, he caught me and-”
“Holy shit,” she cussed. “Nobody steals from Clayton.”
I scoffed.
“How the fuck am I supposed to know that? He’s threatening that I’ll lose my job if I don’t sleep with him.”
“What?”
“Yeah. He’s such a fucking-”
Her hands reached mine and squeezed it gently. “What are you going to do now?” She asked.
I rubbed my head which was about to explode.
How did I get into such a mess?
“I don’t know what to do, but I can’t afford to lose my job. It’s everything I have, if I lose it, I’ll never be able to fulfill my dreams. Anna Moore won’t have a life either.”
“You have to save your job then.”
“But how? He’s friends with the Boss. Just a word and I’ll be sacked.”
“The only way out is to do what he has asked. Sleep with him Nadine, it’s just for a night.”
“What?”
I couldn’t believe this was the advice I was getting from my friend. I swallowed the lump in my throat as I thought of all the things that would happen if I lose my job.
“Sleep with him?”
“Of course, you are not a virgin, we all fuck”
I swallowed hard.
“I’ll do it,” I muttered and looked at her. “I will. But I don’t know how to reach him- I think he has left the hotel.”
“I’ll check for his details and give you his card.”
She turned to the system, and her fingers tapped on the system repeatedly.
“Here,” she said. “Please be safe and know you’re doing this for a reason.”
I gave a nod and left.

When I dialed the number, it went to voicemail at first.
I dropped the phone for a second and thought about this. I had no option so I called him again, and this time he picked up.
“Meet me at Club Pavilion by 11.”
“But-”
The call ended before I could protest how far the distance was.
I stared at the card and realized it was one of his investments, and it was closer to his workplace.
When I got there, his sultry eyes looked at me, and a smirk appeared on his face.
“You sounded too fierce to accept this,” he mocked.NôvelDrama.Org holds text © rights.
I swallowed hard but didn’t utter a word.
“Here, have a drink or two.”
I took the glass from him and drank. I started feeling tipsy, but it was okay. It was the only way I could come to terms with a stranger touching my body.
The last thing I could remember before passing out was my hands on his shoulder being led to the bedroom.

The midnight sun flickered against my eyes, and I turned them open. For a second, I was unaware of my environment till it dawned on me.
I quickly took the blanket away from my body, but I realized I was still wearing my shirt from last night.
I glanced at a nearby table, and there was a ton of cash there.
Confused, I swallowed hard and reached for the note beside the bed.
LEAVE WHEN YOU’RE UP.
A wave of anger swept through me, I squeezed the paper just the way my ego was being tortured.
I felt humiliated on the spot. What the hell was this? Did I look like someone he could pay off or buy?
I quickly stood up and sprawled out. I wasn’t sure of the directions, but I needed to see him.
I got a cab and read out the address of his office. I paid the driver some bucks and angrily walked into the building.
“Good day ma, how may I help you?” A lady asked looking over her computer.
“I’m here to see Clayton.”
“Oh, do you have an appointment?”
“What fucking appointment?” I cussed. “Listen, I need you to get me Clayton, or I’ll make you regret delaying me.”
“I’m sorry Ma’am, but we have orders.”
“To hell with your orders!” I yelled and hit the table. “Get Clayton here, or I’ll go in and there’s nothing you can do about it.”
“Stop it! You can’t go in,” she said in an attempt to calm me, but I was fucking pissed.
“What’s going on here?” Clayton asked as he walked out of his office.
“Sir, it’s this young lady.”
“You fucking bastard!” I yelled and walked closer to him.
I hit him hard across his face before he could say anything.
A loud gasp erupted from behind.
“You’re a fucking piece of shit,” I threw the cash on his face and stormed out of the building with a content heart.
