Chapter 15 You're Bleeding
"Mr. Yates, I like you very much." At that time, she saw that he drank a lot and his eyes were blurred, so she said this to him in a low voice.
She wasn't even sure if he had heard her, so she confessed her love for him so tremblingly. She had never dared to expect anything to happen between them. After all, the status gap was too great.
Her family of three lived in the Yates family. To put it mildly, her mother was a nutritionist. To put it bluntly, she was just a maid who took care of Mr. Yates's three meals a day.
Such an identity made Edison as unreachable as a star in the sky.
She had fallen in love with Edison at the age of fifteen and had a crush on him for three full years.
If Edison hadn't gotten drunk, she would never have had the courage to confess her love to him.
But then Edison did something she hadn't expected.
He put the bracelet he had bought her on her wrist, hugged her, and kissed her.
He was so drunk that he couldn't walk steadily, but he picked her up, brought her to his room, and put her on the bed.
...
At this moment, she was a little confused, afraid that she still had a love for Edison.
When she moved out of the Yates family, she had seriously warned herself not to expect to have someone who did not belong to her in the first place.
Later, when she and her family were in desperate need of money, she took the bracelet that Edison had given her to a pawnshop and pawned it. The bracelet was handmade and made of unknown material, but it was not cheap anyway.
But the owner of the pawnshop was a profiteer. Seeing that she was young and desperate for money, he offered her 10,000.
She still had the receipt issued by the pawnshop owner. She thought that if she had enough money one day, she would get that bracelet back as a memory.
"Are you done? Can you stop acting?" Nancy's yell pulled her back from her thoughts.
Out of the corner of her eye, she caught sight of Nancy coming towards them, and she gave Edison a hard push on the shoulder.
He propped his hands on both sides of her body, and smiled slightly, "Are you afraid I'm serious?"
His voice was so soft that Nancy probably didn't hear it.
"Get up quickly." She turned her face away without meeting his eyes.
He straightened up. As soon as he stood still, Nancy hugged him from behind.
"Eddie, have you had enough fun? It's enough. Stop messing around. If you provoke me again, I really can't stand it." Nancy sobbed.
Edison took her arm away from him and turned to look at her with cold eyes, "I'm not messing around."
"I just want you to give me a moment."
Edison was tired of hearing that.
He frowned, and said coldly, "Get out."
"Eddie..."

Gwenyth was lying on the sofa to calm down. She sat up, put her hands on her chest, and pressed the bath towel.
"Why can she stay here? What the hell is she?!" Nancy pointed at her angrily, as if she wanted to vent her anger on her, "She's just a slut who wants to take the opportunity to climb into your bed."
Edison looked gloomy and warned her word by word, "When I tell you to get out, you'd better get out immediately. Don't force me to ask someone to carry you out."
Nancy knew his temper well. Seeing his gloomy face, she didn't dare to continue to argue with him.
She walked towards the entrance in high heels, and complained in a low voice, "I'm going to visit Grandpa tomorrow, and let him know what you have done these days."
Her voice was not loud, but Edison heard it.
He quickly followed, pressed her shoulders, and pressed her against the door without much effort.
She bumped her nose against the door so hard that she was about to shed tears, "I live by my face. Can you be gentle?"
Edison suppressed his anger and pinched her chin with one hand. He pinched her face so hard that it deformed a little, "I'm warning you, if you irritate my grandpa, I will kill you."
"I... what I just said was just angry words." Nancy didn't dare to piss him off.
He was ruthless, and she was no match.
"I was wrong. Can you let me go? You're hurting me." Her tone softened, and tears fell down her face, looking very pitiful.
Edison let go, opened the door, and pushed her out of the room.
Gwenyth heard the door slam shut.
She looked at Edison. He looked gloomy and cold, which was a little scary.
She held her breath, walked into the bathroom on tiptoe, and changed back into the previous dress.
When she came out, she found Edison sitting on the sofa smoking a cigarette. She froze in place, hesitating whether to go over and let him make room.
"You can go." Edison suddenly raised his head and looked at her. With that, he snuffed out his cigarette, got up, and went upstairs.
He didn't offer to arrange a car to take her home, but just told her to go.
Her clothes, shoes, and bag were still in his car. Could it be that she was going to walk back in this dress in high heels?
"My bag..."
"Don't talk nonsense. Hurry up and get out." Edison was very annoyed. He quickened his pace and disappeared down the stairs in no time.
When he brought her here, he had said that he was going to the racecourse early in the morning, as if tomorrow's business was very important. Now he asked her to go like this.
He didn't even let her take her clothes and bag and just drove her away.
With anger in her chest, she sat on the sofa, put on her high heels, and walked out with her phone.
Edison's car was parked in the yard. She got closer, leaned over the car window, and looked in. She found that her things were in the back.
She looked around, found a brick, and smashed it against the window glass.
The car beeped harshly.
Her nerves were tense. She smashed it hard several times, and the window glass finally shattered.
She carefully pushed aside the broken glass by the window, leaned half her body in, and reached for her clothes and bag on the back seat.
Her belly was pressed against the window, and she was stabbed by the broken glass that hadn't been cleaned up. She gritted her teeth, grabbed the things, and was about to get out of the car when Edison came out of the house.
"What are you doing?" He frowned and strode down the steps.
Seeing her smashing the window of his car to get her clothes and bag, he became angry, "Are you insane?"
"You're insane."
He should have given her things back before he told her to go.
What did he do?
He didn't even give her a chance to finish her sentence and told her to go.
She didn't provoke him. Tonight, he had taken advantage of her. She had cooperated with him in putting on a show in front of Nancy without complaining.
She had done enough.
"Don't worry. I will pay for your glass." She took out her clothes from the bag, picked up the bag, and was about to leave.
Edison caught up with her quickly and pulled her back.
"You're bleeding." His gaze swept across her face, looking down.
She felt a faint pain in her belly. When she lowered her head, she realized that her dress had been soaked in blood.
"I accidentally cut it with the glass. There is no need to make a fuss." She wanted to shake off his hand, but he held her hand tightly and dragged her back into the room.
"What are you doing?"
Didn't he tell her to go?
Why did he pull her back now?!
