Billionaire's Pregnant Ex-wife

My husband Ex 112

"For our children, Lily," he replied, looking me straight in the eyes.

For our children... Yeah, for Isabelle and Dylan... But was that enough reason for me to stay? I thought to myself, wanting to actually hear him say that he wanted me to stay with him because he loves me.

Grey continued, "I know if you leave, you will take the children with you, and God only knows how long it will be before you return here so Dylan and Isabelle could be with me again. I know I could visit them anytime if you're in Europe, but it wouldn't be enough for me because I want to be with them all the time... I want them to have a complete family, which I never experienced in my life." His eyes filled with even more emotion as he said those words.

Even though I never experienced having an absentee father and an abusive stepmother

raising me, I knew that it wasn't easy. To say it was hard was an understatement. Perhaps

'hell' would be the right word to describe the situation.

Grey had the luxury that everyone wanted, but he never experienced being loved in the way he yearned to be loved. Elizabeth took his mother's place when she died, yet she always

treated Grey like an outsider. His father was there too, but he was no better than his wife,

Elizabeth. I understood why Grey wanted us to be together for the sake of our children. A

child will never feel complete without a mother and a father guiding them all the time. He

did not want Isabelle and Dylan to experience what had happened to him as a child.

"I will think about it, Grey. I know staying with you is the best decision for our children's sake, but please give me time to think about this," I replied softly. I couldn't say yes on a

whim. I had to consider a few things first, and my feelings were at the top of that list.

Having him with me always and living in the same home would only make me fall for him

even more. I didn't want to stay with a man who wanted me just because we had children. It

would create an unhealthy relationship that was destined to end in failure.

"I don't want you to think," he blurted out loud, jerking me out of my thoughts.

"Bu-"

"Marry me again," he said.

My breath hitched in my throat, and I stared at him wide-eyed. My mouth parted open in surprise and disbelief. He actually just told me to marry him again. Could it be? Could it mean he loves me too?

"We are already married, Grey," I replied instead. "The divorce wasn't legally processed, so it's null and invalid."

"I know... But I want to marry you again. I want you to be a part of my life again. I want you to be with me all the time. After what happened tonight, I realized I could not afford to lose you twice. Please say yes."

I was taken aback even more as he took a ring from his pocket and knelt in front of me. "I've been planning to give this to you, but I was scared to ask because I knew you would say no. But after being on the verge of losing you and seeing someone point a gun at your head, I realized I have to swallow my fear and ask you the question now, or else I may never have the chance to ask you again. It's way scarier losing you than hearing rejections coming from your lips."

I swallowed the lump in my throat. When my gaze fell on the ring he was holding in his hand, tears welled in my eyes.

"Why are you asking to marry me again?” It was a stupid question, and yet those were the words that came out of my lips.

"Do I need to explain why? I just feel that it's the right thing to do because I love you," he whispered, his eyes welling with tears too.

The tears I'd been trying to suppress broke free and slipped down my cheeks. The words 'I love you' were something I never expected to hear from his lips.

"Is this a dream? Did I actually die and go to heaven?" The words escaped my lips before I could stop myself.noveldrama

Something that resembled a groan and a laugh emerged from him. Grey took my hand, but he did not put the ring on my finger. Instead, he gently squeezed my hand as though he was trying to tell me that this was not a dream at all.

"This is real, my love. I said it a while ago, and I will say it again: I love you. If I have to say it a million times just for you to believe me, I will say it over and over again until I lose my voice." A gentle smile tugged at the corners of his lips as he wiped the tears from my

cheeks.

"When did you realize you love me?"

His eyes sparkled as he recalled a particular memory. "The first time I met you in the hotel and saw you pushing a trolley in the hallway. At that very moment, I knew that you were

the woman for me."

"But why didn't you ever tell me you loved me while we were married?" I asked him.

"I told you almost every day how much I love you, Lily. But I chose to say it when you were asleep because that way, I didn't have to fear you would reject me." Grey paused. "At that

time, I thought you were in love with my brother, so I kept my feelings to myself."

"I never had any feelings for Ash," I told him.

He pressed a finger to my lips to silence me. “I know. I realized how foolish I was

for

assuming that."

He took a deep breath and then continued, "So will you marry me?" he repeated.

I was silent for a moment while I contemplated my answer. In the gentlest way possible, I replied, "No... I mean not yet... You have to wait until I'm ready to marry you again."

"I will wait as long as it takes as long as you will say yes, my love." He slid the diamond solitaire onto my finger, and it fit perfectly like a glove. The ring was so bright and beautiful, yet it couldn't surpass the glow in my eyes.

"This ring is a sign of my love and devotion. I promise you that I will never let you go again, and I will make you happy for the rest of my life." After saying those words, he got up from

kneeling on the floor and pulled me into his arms. He then sealed his promise with

a kiss that expressed how he truly felt deep within.

After a long, winding journey, we finally found our happy ending.
