Chapter 77
"Sophia, your sister isn't lying against you right?" William asked, looking at the pale looking Sophia.
"It was a mistake, father. I forgot to Inform sister when I was leaving." Sophia replied, since she was caught off guard by Rose, she didn't know which excuse to come up with and just admitted it.
"How can you do that, Sophia? You know something bad could have happened to your sister, she was your responsibility at that moment and you should have taken better care of her. Now I understand why your sister wants her own car." William readily scolded Sophia. Even though he didn't mean it he had because Rose was sitting with them.
Sophia couldn't help but lower her head when she heard her father. She just clenched her fist under the table and blamed everything on Rose.
"Honey, don't blame Sophia. She is still young and isn't used to both her and Rose going out." Unable to watch her daughter being scolded by her husband, she quickly interrupts them.
"Um..... father. Mother is right, and since I came back home safely there isn't need to scold Sophia. And I'm not mad at her. I didn't request for a car because of that but if it's about getting me a car as a gift that might cause a problem, I can just ask for other things." Rose also added, since she had already gotten what she wanted.
After hearing Rose, William calmed down and everything went back to normal. Before everyone was done eating, Rose dropped her spoon saying she was full and headed to her room. Everyone could tell that she had barely touched her food but said nothing. Somewhere in Los Angeles.
The Anderson family mansion which was located almost in the outskirts of the city.
In a spacious and large study room of the Anderson mansion. An elderly old man in his seventies was sitting on the black leather chair behind. He had a complete dark expression on his face as he stared at the image on his computer. Earlier today, his men had called and informed him about something that was going on at the Gray mansion.
The image he was staring at was none other than the image of Roseline walking out of R's Boutique she had visited today. The old man was not too bothered about the fact that she was walking out of the boutique, instead he had his attention focused on the face of the little girl that looked so much like dead niece- Ruby Walker.
Just as he was staring at the laptop screen, the door to his study room opened and an old man dressed in butler suit with a tray on his hand walked in, he looked to be around the same age as the old man sitting behind the desk walked in.
"Master Anderson, Madam asked me to inform you about your drugs." The old man said as he walked towards the desk and placed the tray beside him.
"I've told you to alway address me
normally anytime we are alone, Anthony." The old man who was none other than Frank Anderson, the patriarch of the great Anderson family, the second most powerful and influential family in California. After speaking he turned to look at the other old man. Even though he was a butler, Anthony has been working in the Anderson family for a long time and despite Anthony having a family that was also influential in California, he had gave his son to run the family while he remained in the Anderson family.
Frank and Anthony had been friends since they young thanks to the fact that both their family were friends since the beginning of time. Most of all the heir from Anthony family were either a butler or assistant to the heir of Anderson family and Anthony chooses to be a butler in the Anderson mansion despite he could run his own family.
"I'm just use calling you that already, Frank. It's hard to not address you that way we are alone." Anthony finally replied with a small smile on his face and looked at his childhood friend.
"If you don't mind me asking why you had a frown on your face when I walked in?" He asked noticing the look Frank had when he walked in.
"Take a seat, I want you to take a look at this and tell who does she look like." Instead of replying to Anthony's question, Frank turned the laptop around to face Anthony who had taken his seat.Property © of NôvelDrama.Org.
"This young lady.....she look so much like Miss Ruby. Where was this picture taken?" Anthony creased his brow immediately he saw Rose.
"The men I planted to be monitoring the Gray family told me that young girl is living currently at the Gray mansion." Frank replied.
"Are you thinking she is Miss Ruby's daughter? They both so much alike except for the color of their hair." Anthony said as he glanced at Rose's black hair.
"There isn't a doubt that she is Ruby's daughter. She is living with the Gray family means she is my niece daughter and my great-niece. That cunning William bastard have been keeping her from us all this years." Frank said, he was sure Rose was Ruby daughter who is his niece. There was an obvious distain and anger in his voice when he mentioned William's name.
Ever since Ruby died in the car
accident years ago, he had secretly order his men to do some
investigation about it. The Anderson family are the only family Ruby had left after her parent died. As Ruby uncle, he was obligated to find out what had caused his favorite niece death. However, when his men
would give him a report, it was said that Ruby accident wasn't as natural as the police said, it was a planned accident but they were unable to find out who did it.
It was only four months after Ruby died did he heard that William had brought home his mistress and two children. In rage he felt for William actions, he sent message to William and told him to hand over Rose guardianship to the Anderson family. However, William had refused and before he knew it, Rose
was no longer in the country. His
men were unable to dig out where
Rose was as well. Ever since then he had planted his men to watch William every move.
