Blood Oath: Forever Yours

Chapter 18: Someone Like Me Was Not Worth It

Chapter 18: Someone Like Me Was Not Worth It

Screech!

The deafening squeal resulting from the friction between the tires and the ground had almost

perforated Charlotte’s eardrums, and the car halted steadily right in front of her knees in the next

second!

Her legs had given way due to the overwhelming fright after a close encounter with death as she

slumped down on the ground while shaking in her shoes.

Bang!

Lawrence slammed the door on his side after getting down from the car, and he had reached her in just

a few large strides with a sinister look on his face. He dragged her violently and pressed her against

the enclosure wall of the courtyard as he rebuked her, “Are you here to harass my mother when you

know that you failed persuading me, Charlotte? Don’t you want to live anymore or continue trouble my

family?!”

His eyes were brimming with deadly coldness and undisguised revulsion towards her when he had

uttered those cruel words.

Charlotte’s heart was pricked as she shook her head desperately to deny his claim, “I wasn’t trying to

harass your mother. The only reason that we’re together is due to…”

Victoria had trotted out from the courtyard right at that moment after hearing some stir with shards of

the broken ceramic bowl in her hands. When her eyes were laid on the scene unfolding in front of her,

she gasped in horror while exclaiming, “Lance!”

She immediately sprinted towards them and pulled Lawrence away from Charlotte, and she proceeded

to grab Charlotte by the hand and hide the poor girl behind her while giving her son a cold look, “Don’t

browbeat Lotta. She didn’t do anything wrong.”

“How in the world could you treat her like that? The old you used to be so distressed even when Lotta

had just frowned or shed a drop of tear back then.”

Lawrence sneered as his frosty eyes swept across Charlotte, “You do know that it’s in the past, don’t

you, Mom? She used to be a princess whom was cherished by everyone, but now she was just a

shameless prostitute. Do you think I still care about her?” Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.

Charlotte’s face turned ghastly as her heart was pierced through by his ruthless remarks, and it turned

out that his feelings for her was all there was to it.

She wondered how much he had loathed her for him to be able to humiliate her in front of his own

mother.

“Cut it out, Lance!” Victoria berated him in a forbidding manner as she could not bear to hear him

spitting out malicious remarks at Charlotte anymore.

“Your remarks are out of line! Do you have any idea how hurtful that is?”

Allison had witnessed the happenings firsthand from inside the car through the half-rolled down

window. She narrowed her eyes while staring at Charlotte, and it took her just one glance to imprint

Charlotte’s face on her mind.

That woman, Charlotte Garcia, turned out to be Lawrence’s ex.

Allison retracted her sight on Charlotte and proceeded to get down from the car, and after she had

slowly walked over to them, she beamed brightly at Victoria while calling out to her, “Nice to meet you,

my dear Ms. Harris.”

Victoria was taken aback by her sudden appearance, “You are…”

“I’m Allison Miller.” Allison reached out her hands to hold onto Lawrence’s arm as she quirked up the

corner of her beautiful lips into a charming smile, “I’m Lawrence’s fiancée, your future daughter-in-law.”

Fiancée?

Charlotte looked up in a startled manner to see the girl snuggling up to Lawrence in an intimate

manner.

It turned out that he had not gotten married in the past few years, but he was soon about to…

A stunning and elegant woman like her was probably the only one whom could be a good match for

Lawrence whom was such an outstanding man himself.

Charlotte instantly felt that her presence here was such an eyesore and uncalled for.

“Victoria.” Her head was drooped in a lowly manner when she had called out to her softly, “Don’t get so

worked up over someone like me. It’s not worth it.”

Lawrence’s callous voice instantly struck her from behind when she had just finished her sentence,

“Who do you think you are to call my mother’s name, Charlotte? To what exactly you owe the right to

do that?”

Charlotte’s body wobbled as she tightened both her hands which were hanging by her sides, and she

soon let out a light laugh, “You’re right, Mr. Harris. I don’t deserve to.”

She suddenly took a step backward after responding to him and bowed unexpectedly towards Victoria

as she uttered, “I’m sorry, Mrs. Harris. It’s me whom have crossed the line. Thank you so much for

yesterday.”

Victoria was caught off guard by her action, and she swiftly stepped forward to try to grab hold of her

hand again while saying, “Please don’t be like that, Lotta.”

Charlotte dodged her reach instead and proceeded to turn and stare straight at Lawrence whom was

still wearing a horrifying look on his face, “Similarly, I’m sorry too, Mr. Harris. I have bitten off more than

I can chew, and I should be damned for disturbing the precious time of your reunion with your family

and fiancée. I promise that it won’t happen again.”

As soon as she had apologized, she bowed again towards Lawrence…
