Chapter 8
Still, in a confused state, the secretary called out to her,
“Miss shepherd? Come take your appointment letter” lost beyond measure, she managed to get herself a stand then walked towards the counter,
“You’re quite lucky, it wasn’t the CEO themselves who interviewed you. They’re both quite picky and have different expectations when it comes to hiring a new member.” The lady smiled, signed on the paper then gives her to put her signature.
“They’re twins?” She inquired, the lady looked at her,
“Haven’t you heard of the white brothers? They’re the heirs of the White household and both have a share of the company too” her mouth widened agape.
“Don’t tell me you’ve not heard of them before?” Her brows twitched, looking intently at Sydney,
“What? How am I possibly supposed to meet them?” She faked a small laugh before signing her name.
“See you.” The lady walked out just before She realize she didn’t get to know her name.
Walking out of the building, Paxton stood close to the window, watching her board a taxi,
“what was she doing here of all places?” He thought deeply, she looked quite sober than the other night, he could tell just by a single look, she was pretty.
“Paxton?” His voice startled him bringing him out of his thoughts,
“Have you by any chance met her before? Jaxton sat comfortably, he knew she must have by chance mistook him for Jaxton.
“Why would I? We have virtually nothing in common” he defended, then he recalled the weird moment he saw them both, in the elevator,
“You know her? What kind of girl is she?” Paxton knew the girls who often hang around his brother were all nothing but touts, was she one of his bedroom chicks? He frowned at the thought of this,
“Yes, I know her but not what you’re thinking.” He smirked, standing up, Paxton’s eyes immediately followed him,
“Where are you going to? We have a meeting with the Taiwan investors?” Jaxton turned swiftly to him,
“You’re good at this stuff, I am not.” And with that, he walked out.
“That son of a …..” He held his breath, then took a deep breath. He turned his gaze to the window when she had successfully flagged down a taxi and was getting into it,
“What’s your identity really, Sydney Shepherd?” He asked no one in particular watching the taxi driver out of the company driveway.
The door opened, Dana walked in,
“Sir, the Taiwan investors have arrived. And they are waiting for you in the conference room.” Paxton sighs, his brother has yet again missed another potential meeting.
“Ok then, tell the human resources to gather all the files and head there, take this with you” he hands over the blue spiral bounded file to her,
“I’ll then soon, give me a few minutes.” He says she walks out closing the door behind him, and he falls his back to the chair, sighing.
Sydney walked into her apartment, the still and quiet aura hugged her, she throws her purse onto the small couch and walked to the kitchen to grab a glass of water.
Opening the fridge, the water was not at all chill, she felt others but nothing, it was then she realized her electricity had been cut off from her apartment. She sighs removing her shoes, and slides into her flip-flop, entering her room, she removed her clothes and went to have her shower,
“Jaxton and Paxton? Dammn! You’re screwed, Sydney?” She ran her hands through her head.
Coming out of the bathroom, it then occurred to her that she could search them up on social media, sitting on her bed in the flora-designed nightgown, she rammed through the internet, another world that seems to know everyone,
“There it is!” She clicked on a blog and read within herself,
” Paxton and his younger twin brother, Paxton had agreed to run their company together as co-CEOs after their father passed away and handed it to them but it was Paxton who took care of most of the office business while Jaxton usually traveled around for business but had fun while he was at it.” She gasped,
“They’re so identical to tell them apart, how do I know?” She sighs, searching all night made her quite sleepy, and soon the darkness hovered over her.
Next morning……
She stood at the front door taking deep breaths, she walked in approached the counter,
“Hey there, you’re quite early, very impressive” the lady smiled,
“Yes, sorry didn’t get to know your name,” returning the smile Sydney asked.
“Dana Adams. But you can call me Dana.” Dana beamed.
“So where’s the marketing department? ” Looking around, the front door opened and both CEOs walked in, the room though silent, the squealing from other females could be heard, and their dazzling walking step as a duo made them more attractive, Paxton’s gaze jammed with hers, and she immediately broke off the contact, she swiftly turned to Miss Dana
“I’ll locate the Marketing department” she rushed to the elevator, as soon as she sensed them approaching Dana’s table. Inside the elevator, she heaved a deep sigh of relief.
The elevator immediately opened, she walked out, marveled at how pretty the building looked upstairs,
“Excuse me!” in split seconds she was out of the way of the guy carrying a box filled with files, he turned to her,
“Are you Sydney Shepherd?”
“Yes sir,” wondering how he got to her name,
He laughs,” your resume was submitted to me yesterday,” he dropped the box on the table behind her,
“Follow me,” she Instantly followed him,
“This is your table, that’s your ID which you must have on at all times, there’s a penalty that comes with it when you don’t have it on. But first, am your supervisor, James.”
“Good morning Mr. James” she squeal, he was quite friendly to be her supervisor,Content © copyrighted by NôvelDrama.Org.
“Take this, and photocopy it, after you’re done, meet me in my office. Chop chop!” He claps,
“This early?” She grunts, he turned his eyes to her, and she smiles,
“On it!” Walking back to the elevator, as soon as the elevator opens, about to walk out when her head bumped into someone’s hard chest, causing her to lose her balance, but caught before her butt met with the ground, closing her eyes tight, she slowly opened them to meet the charming eyes, she could head heels over,
“Sir Jax-Paxton?” Words messed up in her head,
“What’s all this?” Her subconscious screamed.
