Chapter 92
As she was about to respond to his question her phone pinged notifying her that there was a message.
“There is a message for all the staff to meet up for the new proposal for the product, and I have got to go,” she said as she turned and made her way out of the corridor.
As she went out of the corridor she could hear him curse under his breath but she didn’t care about that at the moment.
“Look Sydney I am sorry for the way I behaved” he started but she didn’t look at him she couldn’t handle his heat at the moment.
“Your cousin even greeted you but you didn’t respond because you wanted to come will you think I am into your brother?”
“Jaxton shame on you and trust me you would regret your behaviour if you do not curb your stupid anger ” she continued as she turned and began to make her way to her office.
He felt like a jerk for making her feel that way he knew he was way out of line.
And he didn’t even know why he has been angry that day.
Or maybe it was because Paxton didn’t return home last night and when he tried Sydney’s number it rang nonstop and she didn’t pick up he had assumed they were together.
Also assuming that because when he had come to the office he noticed that both of them were not at the office and looking from his window the moment Paxton entered the office minutes later, Sydney followed so he beloved something was going on the low and he has no idea about it.
Jax was scared of getting hurt after he had hurt a lot of women from his cassava days and now that he has finally decided to focus on Sydney she seemed to be playing the same game on him.
When Sydney got into her office to get the files she realised that Lydia had gone already.
“Thanks to Jax, his cousin has left ” she scolded herself as she walked through the corridors to the assembly spot thinking of what they were going to discuss on the project.
“Okay so as you all know we have a new project ongoing what are the suggestions you all want to give for this?” Paxton asked and his team looked from one person to another.
The way Paxton looked and sounded she hoped the company funds were in check and they were not going to get into bankruptcy.
As she entered the office she heard Paxton talking to the others.
“Oh yeah, Ms Sydney, you brought the idea for this project don’t was thinking maybe you should be the one to enlighten us more about every other thing in the book,” he said.
After about an hour of back-and-forth talking and suggestions as to how to make the project a success.
Everyone had dispersed as they took into consideration what they had written down and then she walked out of the company when she heard Jaxton calling her.
“Sydney can we please talk?
She stopped and took a deep breath before she finally turned with a fake smile on her face.
She just wanted to hear what he had to say but she wasn’t going to let him continue annoying her with the words he spewed because she had finally realised that his jealousy was going to be the path that was going to make them have more clashes than normal.
” I am exhausted Jaxton I need to rest as you can see we have had. a long meeting which had me thinking and I doing want any of your tantrums now” she said.
“Yeah yeah, I understand that you don’t have to remind me Sydney but I just want to make up for what happened this afternoon can we have dinner and I could drive you home to be sure you are safe,” he said trying to be on her good side.
Unfortunately, she knew the damage he had caused this afternoon as always in front of people she had been dragged by him into the corridor as though she was a little child.
And as if that wasn’t enough he had ordered her to stay away from his brother as if he was some plague and had some sickness she had to be wary of.
“No, I would have to decline that I haven’t had time with
my girls and I wish to have a good time with them ” she said and then she tried her best not to show that she was angry with him.
She got on her tiptoe and landed a kiss on his cheek as she walked to her car and drove off.
He stood there and watched as she drove off he began to think about why all the time she always had to decline his need to either take her out or not.
It was either he got the excuse of her being tired and wanting to rest and or she didn’t want to have company and she wanted to be left alone.
He just finally began to think he had always been the one to force her.
And also he could count the number of times he got invited by her willfully. This text is property of Nô/velD/rama.Org.
And even when he wanted to be a gentle boyfriend she was always somehow subtly busy.
Maybe what he said about her liking his brother was true.
As he stood there thinking he remembered Lyida had come to the office and he had been a total jerk to her and so he had to make sure that he went home and apologised to her.
He knew he was a jerk and he knew he had to behave poorly but what could he do when he seemed to be so much in love with Sydney and she was not reciprocating the amount of love and energy he had put into what he thought they had?
