Chapter 17 I Heard You Did a Good Deed

Tina habitually swallowed her pride in front of Samuel. Even though she only had a thin shirt on, she

still walked over to him.

Fortunately, there was a coffee table between them.

"As soon as you left my place, you spread rumors that I abused you?" Samuel raised his head slightly

and gazed at her coldly.

Tina's jaw tightened. She poured a glass of wine for him, pretending to be calm. "It's a

misunderstanding. Maybe Mr. Carter didn't renew the rent on time. I didn't have a place to go, so I just

stayed with Alice."

As she spoke, she avoided Samuel's gaze and passed the wine glass to him through the coffee table.

Samuel changed his sitting posture on the sofa. He put his elbows on his legs, leaned forward, and got

a lot closer to Tina all of a sudden.

Tina retreated instinctively. Just as soon as her hand moved, he clasped her wrist strongly.

She was flustered and looked up at Samuel. "Mr. Langford..."

Before she finished speaking, Samuel suddenly exerted force and pulled Tina across from the coffee

table.

In the blink of an eye, Tina was pulled into his arms and sat on his lap intimately.

Since she was only wearing a shirt and they were quite close to each other, they could clearly feel each

other's body temperature.

Samuel didn't go further. He just hugged Tina and rested his chin on her shoulder. Content is © 2024 NôvelDrama.Org.

"I heard you did a good deed. Did you tell Ellen about my habits?"

His tone was so flat that it was hard to tell whether he was happy or angry.

Having been with him for five years, Tina knew his temper well. He was not happy and he seemed to

be warning her by saying that.

She didn't move and just looked at the coffee table. Then she calmly replied, "Concerning your

stomach, your work efficiency will be reduced if you don't eat well. Telling her about your habits is what

I should do."

He snorted softly, "Then you are really dedicated." Suddenly, he stretched out his hand to brush Tina's

hair.

He stroked her cheek and gently slid over the place where she had been hit.

He was touching her gently, but she was inexplicably flustered. She felt goosebumps on the places he

touched.

"So dedicated and so good-tempered. You can even swallow everything after being slapped in the

face." He enunciated clearly and listed her strong points one by one as if he was really praising her. But

he suddenly changed the subject, "Women like you are perfect to sell cars and houses."

Tina clenched her hands tightly. She didn't understand what he meant.

He asked again, "Did you sell those cars?"

Tina took a deep breath lightly and replied, "I've sold one."

She couldn't figure out his intention and wondered, "Why did he ask about my performance? Was he

planning to lift my sales target so that my life wouldn't be too easy?"

"Only one? What can you do with that little pay?" He sounded cold and a little bit strange.

Tina felt that his voice was like a feather which had stroked all the sensitive parts of her body lightly.

She almost trembled.

When she was in a daze, Samuel stretched out his hand to hook her hair and swept her cheek with it.

"Do you find it difficult?"

The string in her mind trembled suddenly.

A familiar scene seemed to flash before Tina's eyes. It was five years ago when she was like a babe in

the woods and she was somehow transferred to the president's secretary's office.

And she was also bullied somehow. Samuel suddenly showed up and asked her in the same

affectionate tone, "Are you in trouble?"

The voice passing by her ears, Tina trembled all over and instantly escaped from Samuel's arms.
