Chapter 1162
Chapter 1162:
Liliana was confused. It seemed unlikely anyone would willingly take the blame for them. No one was that naive, unless…
As Liliana pondered, a sudden realization struck her, and her eyebrows arched.
“Are you suggesting we use my grandma?”
“Exactly! It appears you’ve become more competent under Waylon’s protection.” Valentina’s smile bore a trace of pride, and then her expression hardened as she said, “We’ve supported that old woman long enough. It’s time she repaid us.”
After speaking, Valentina sighed and continued, “Liliana, I know I was wrong about sending you to Waylon’s bed, but you have to understand that everything I’ve done is for your own good. We are related by blood. I would never harm you.
Do you understand?”
In the past, when Liliana had lived a sheltered life, she followed Valentina’s guidance dutifully, and they maintained a harmonious mother-daughter relationship.noveldrama
Having experienced life’s trials and matured, Liliana now saw that her mother had always used her as a puppet. No one desired to be manipulated. Liliana was determined not to let Valentina orchestrate her life like she did in the past anymore.
“Mom, go ahead with your plan. I’ll support you in every way I can from behind the scenes.” Liliana dismissed Valentina’s attempt at emotional appeal and steered the conversation back to their plans against Harlee.
“Take your time.
After all, your grandmother and Skyla have had a falling out. It won’t be easy to mend that relationship. They need a moment to cool off.”

As soon as Valentina finished, a loud bang outside jolted her, causing her to crash painfully against the edge of the table.
“Ouch… That hurts…” Valentina groaned, rubbing her bruised area in irritation.
“What’s going on outside?”
Disregarding Valentina’s discomfort, Liliana stepped outside with a frown, muttering to herself, “It sounded like an explosion.
But this is Waylon’s villa. Surely it couldn’t be a bomb…” When informed of the existence of a bomb, Liliana gasped, and her frown deepened.
“A bomb? Here, in the villa?”
The idea that someone had planted a bomb in this villa’s garden had never crossed Liliana’s mind.
Despite bomb experts determining it was an old explosive, buried for at least two or three years and accidentally set off by a gardener, Liliana suspected it was deliberate rather than a mere accident. She found it hard to believe that something so bizarre—and nearly impossible—could happen to her. The only explanation was that Harlee was behind the bomb, using it as a warning to her.
With this thought, Liliana’s fists clenched so tightly that her palms turned white.
“Harlee, you linger like a persistent shadow.
Don’t think I won’t retaliate!”
Meanwhile, inside the villa, Harlee sneezed. She rubbed her nose and muttered, “Who’s cursing me now?”
At that moment, Robbie burst in, brimming with excitement.
“I’ve got fantastic news! Everything’s unfolding perfectly!”
