Chasing Back My Ex-wife

Chapter 53

Chapter 53

"Pfft!" Troy grabbed Lucy's bloodstained hair fiercely. "You b*tch, how could someone like you possibly hate a man a classy woman like Byrd loves? Do you think I'm that naïve?"

He was grabbing her hair very hard, and it should hurt a lot, but Lucy was already numb to the pain. "To be honest, that man is Arthur Johnson."

Troy was so shocked that he immediately let go of her hair!

Ron, who was always calm, jumped to his feet.

Arthur Johnson, as in Mr. Johnson, the CEO of Johnson Group, the king of City A?

To them, Lucy must surely have lost her mind to dare to spew nonsense like that!

"You guys surely don't believe me, do you?" While they were still in shock, Lucy continued, "If you don't, then go ahead and search the web. I was married to him for three years. Five years ago, Arthur killed my baby, that's why I left."

She looked at them with her head tilted, her gaze full of hatred. "Do you guys understand the pain of a mother losing her child? I didn't even have a chance to see my child, and Arthur killed it!"

What she said was half true and half false. 80% of it were the truth while 20% were lies, and it sounded more convincing than the whole truth!

Troy kept quiet and took a few steps backward with a look of disgust. He obviously believed her. This content provided by N(o)velDrama].[Org.

"Why are you going so far away? Just don't f*ck her and you'll be fine!" Ron was angry that such a beautiful woman was right in front of him, but he couldn't f*ck her.

What's more, Byrd had said that she would only pay them after she got the video. They must have lost a hefty sum!

Lucy was afraid that they would find her worthless now and immediately kill her, so she said, "I don't love Arthur, but he loves me. He's been throwing himself at me recently. You guys can make him pay you ten million dollars and let me go!"

"We kidnapped you, how could you be so kind to give us advice?" Ron was always suspicious.

Lucy sneered, her gaze icy. "You guys will get the money, and I'll get my revenge. Two birds with one stone. I won't have to suffer anymore!"

Troy smacked his lips and said, "You're really vicious! But your plan sounds good. How can I get Arthur's phone number?"

He was actually afraid of Arthur, but he loved money!

"You guys took my phone along, didn't you? His number's in there." Lucy didn't think they would release her after getting the money, but every extra minute of her life counted!

What if she really got a chance to escape?

They looked at each other and made up their minds.

Ron locked the window, untied the rope still binding Lucy, and tossed her some ointment. "Apply it yourself and don't even think of escaping!"

"You guys kept the car keys, and my injury is infected. I'd rather stay here obediently rather than running a short way, getting caught, then getting beaten up by you guys." Lucy applied the ointment on her body and said weakly. She sounded like she had given up on escaping.

Ron snorted and did not let down his guard.

Troy brought the fully-charged phone over along with a card. "Ron, let's call him!"

They called Arthur and asked him to transfer ten million dollars into that specific credit card within one and a half hours.

If they didn't receive the money within that timeframe, then all Arthur would get was Lucy's corpse!

Lucy's face paled. "Guys, isn't one and a half hours a little too short?"

She didn't think that Arthur would send any money. She only made them blackmail him to buy time for herself!

"Johnson Group is so successful. What is ten million dollars to them?" Ron felt suspicious. "Why are you so scared? Is it because you're complete strangers with Arthur, and you only asked us to do that to buy yourself time?!"

When he said the last few words, his voice sounded sinister.

Troy watched on alertly.

Lucy tried her best to calm her racing heart and pretended to be unbothered. "Why would I lie to you guys? If I was lying, how would I have Arthur's private number on my phone? Also, when you guys were on the call, couldn't you tell how worried Arthur is?"

She had actually sensed Arthur's worry from his voice, but she couldn't understand why he would be worried.

He used to treat her as somebody else's replacement, and he had feelings for Lizbeth now, so why would he be worried about her?

Ron and Troy thought her words made sense, so they kept their eyes on the phone to see when the money would be transferred.

Troy felt bored from the wait, and he sent Lizbeth a text.

"Hey Byrd, you know this b*tch has a disease, and yet you still wanted us to f*ck her. Do you have a death wish?!"

Lucy was busy thinking of a way to escape, so she did not notice Troy's actions at all.

Sitting on the chair, she looked at the two men who were sitting on either side of her, trapping her in the middle, and glanced at the clock on the wall. A layer of sweat broke out on her forehead.

They had only given Arthur an hour and a half, and from the looks of it, they would guard her until the

money got deposited. It was impossible for her to escape right in front of them!

However, Arthur definitely wouldn't come and save her. The most he would do was feel sorry about losing a replacement. She could only count on herself to escape within that hour and a half!

"Ron, it's been an hour, and the money hasn't reached. Could Arthur not intend to pay up?" Troy's patience was at its limit after waiting patiently for an hour.

Lucy's throat was dry and her legs were weak. "He likes me very much and will definitely pay you the money. Wait a little longer. In fact, the Johnson Group's net worth 10 billion dollars, but they don't have that much liquid assets. To withdraw ten million dollars is still quite difficult."

Was Arthur still not transferring any money yet because he was scared that the kidnappers would kill her after receiving the money?

Or... had he never thought of saving her at all?

She pressed her hands on her knees, trying to make herself look more confident. If she let them sense anything fishy, they would definitely kill her on the spot!

Ron didn't understand what liquid assets were, but he felt that Lucy wouldn't dare to lie to them, so he asked Troy to sit down and wait.

...

Lizbeth felt sad and asked Jenson to drink with her.

It was getting dark, and more and more people entered the bar. However, the hubbub just made her feel more lonely, sad, and miserable.

"Lizbeth, stop drinking. You just came out of surgery, you shouldn't be drinking." Jenson's handsome looks attracted many girls, but he didn't bother about any of them. He only saw Lizbeth.

Lizbeth ignored him and drank another shot. The burning alcohol scorched her throat. "Tell me, what are my flaws? Why...why will Arthur never look at me?"

"He doesn't know how good you are and that's his fault." A hint of sadness filled his gaze. She had done so much, but still failed to make Arthur spare her a single glance.

However, when had she ever spared Jenson a glance?

"Get me another glass of wine!" Lizbeth was obviously tipsy, and she was slurring. "I only said...that Lucy might have gotten tainted by those kidnappers, but Arthur actually...yelled at me...and told me to...get lost!"
