“Where are we going?” I asked but my question was met with silence.
The car finally stopped in front of a hospital and Damian walked out of the car in a hurry. What’s going on?? I didn’t waste time and followed closely behind him.
He entered into the VIP ward and walked into a room. I gasped in shock when I found out who he rushed to meet.
I saw Felix lying motionlessly on the bed with bandages covering most of his body. He had an oxygen tank connected to his face. It seemed like he was taking his last breath because his breath was very shallow. What happened to him??
The door to the room opened and the doctor treating Felix walked in.
“Are you Damian Black, the patient’s guardian?” He asked and Damian nodded.
“What happened to him?” Damian asked.
“He was involved in a car accident. His car crashed head on with a truck. Luckily, he was rushed quickly to the hospital by passers-by that were around at the time. we have performed surgery on him already and it was a success.” The doctor said.
“But why is he still like this?” Damian asked.
“Due to the amount of blood he has lost, his body is in a state of shock. There’s nothing we can do right now other than wait for him to wake up himself.” The doctor answered.
“What nonsense are you saying? Isn’t this you job??” Damian asked angrily.
The doctor was startled, I was too. We didn’t expect that reaction from him.
“It is sir.” The doctor answered.Exclusive © material by Nô(/v)elDrama.Org.
“Then why can’t you even wake him up?” Damian asked again, his nose almost flaring.
“We have already done our best. It is out of our hands now. It’s his choice to wake up or keep lying…..” “Shut up you dimwit!!” Damian cut him off angrily.
“Damian. Calm down.” I said trying to get him to stop harassing the doctor but he wouldn’t listen to me.
“Don’t fucking tell me to calm down.” He suddenly grabbed the doctor by the collar.
“If he doesn’t wake up, you and all the workers here will pay with your miserable lives.” He threatened while the doctor shivered.
“Am I clear??” He asked and the doctor nodded his head frantically.
“Words!!” “Yes sir.” The doctor stuttered out.
“Get out.” Damian said as released the doctor’s collar.
The doctor didn’t waste any time and scampered out of the room like his pants were on fire. If not for the situation we were in, I would have laughed out loud.
This is probably the first time I have seen Damian loose control of his emotions like this. Even though he is angry, he would still remain calm and collected.
I looked over towards Damian. He had a killer look in his eyes so I figured he needed some alone time with Felix. So, I decided to give him and Felix some time alone.
“Excuse me.” I muttered but he didn’t even look my way, so I left the room quietly.
I was feeling thirsty, so I went to get something to drink.

When Selina had finally left, all the pent up tears Damian had been holding fell freely. He touched his tears in shock. It had been a long time since he last cried. The last time he cried was when his parents had died.
Even when he found out Mark and Ana had plotted to kill him and take away his wealth and title, he didn’t even shed a tear for them. He sniffed and scooted closer to Felix.
“Who did this to you?” Damian asked even though he was aware there would be no reply.
That made it hurt the more. Felix, Grey and Selina were the remaining people he had close to him but now, one of them is busy fighting for his life in the hospital bed.
“I can’t lose you too Felix.” He muttered as he sniffed back his tears.
“I promise I’ll make whoever that did this to you regret ever doing so. They will feel the same pain you are passing through before I finally end their pathetic lives. They will regret ever crossing us. I swear on my life that they will pay.” Damian muttered in anger.
The door to the hospital room finally opened again and Grey walked in. Damian quickly wiped his tears before Grey would notice that he was shedding tears.
“Have you found what I asked you to?” Damian asked gruffly, trying to hide his breaking voice.
“Yes boss. You were right, it wasn’t a normal accident. This is the cctv footage of the restaurant along the rood that the accident occurred and the footage from Felix’s car dashboard camera.” Grey said as he gave Damian a tab.
Damian clicked on the video on the screen and a frown appeared on his face as he watched the video.
“As you can see in the video, the truck deliberately ran over Felix’s car even though he tried to avoid it.” Grey said.
“What about the driver, any news on him?” Damian asked.
“No, he escaped after the accident. Right now, I’ve sent some boys to look for him.” Grey answered.
“Does he have any family?” Damian asked.
“Yes. A mother.” Grey answered.
“Good, capture her instead.” Damian answered.
“But…”
“Just do as I say but make sure nothing happens to her. If he finds out I have taken his mother, he’ll come out from where ever he is hiding.” Damian said.
“Okay boss.” Grey answered.
“Good, I hope you will do a more thorough job this time, I want no loopholes.” Damian said.
“Yes boss.” Grey answered before leaving the room.

I came back with two bottles of cold water. I was about to enter the room when Grey walked out. He had a deep frown on his face.
What is wrong? Did he fight with Damian?? I wanted to ask him but I held myself back. It’s not like he would answer me. For some reason best known to him, he was still angry.
The brushed past me like I wasn’t there. I didn’t mind and opened the door to the room before walking in.
I saw Damian seated on the chair beside Felix’s bed. He had a solemn look on. He must have really loved Felix seeing how he lost his control for him.
Thankfully, he had calmed down now. He raised his head to stare at me when he noticed someone had entered the room.
“Where have you been?” He asked.
“I went to get us water>” I said showing him the two bottles of water.
“Here, you must be thirsty.” I said as I gave him one of the bottles.
The collected it from me and finished the contents in one go. He must be really thirsty.
“Thank you.” He muttered.
I nodded my head as I took a sip of my water.
“I’m sorry.” He suddenly said making me surprise.
“For what?” I asked.
“Screaming at you earlier.” He answered.
“It is fine. I understand you. I would do the same if someone close to me is also at the brink of death.” I answered.
“There is no excuse for my behavior. I still shouldn’t have done that to you. I’m so sorry.” He apologized again.
I stood up and walked stood in front on him.
“I understand you, Damian. You don’t have to apologize.” I muttered as I wrapped my hands around him as I engaged him in a warm embrace.
“Thank you, princess.” He muttered as he rested his head on my stomach while I tapped him calmly on his back.
