Darling, Please Love Me Again! (Gisele Meyer)

Chapter 20

Chapter 20

Her l*ps curved up into a smile.

“Aren’t you the one who’s unwilling?” she asked hoarsely,

Shocked by her words, Dorian’s hand, which had been holding her, sl*pped for a brief

moment.

However, he immediately tightened his grip once again as soon as he noticed her body sl*pping down.

“Hmm.” He shot her a vague respon150,

“Dorian…” Gisele opened her m*uth. Then, she fell entirely unconscious.

His eyebrows knitted together, and he urged Jon, saying, “Paster!”

“Yes, sir.” Jon sped up. Fortunately for them, there were barely any cars on the road at night. Hence, they reached the manor in about half an hour.

Dorian carried Gisele into the room. The family doctor, Eric Thompson, was already waiting for them inside.

Gisele was laid on the huge bed. Her ch*eks were slightly red and puffy. She curled up into a ball obediently. The wounds on her body were incredibly ghastly.

Eric dressed her wounds first. Then, he gave her a checkup with a machine.

Upon noticing how weak her body was, he instinctively furrowed his brows. Why was she in such a fragile state?

“Mr. Jefferson, Mrs. Jefferson was dosed with an aphrodisiac. On top of that, she has a high fever from the shock she had received,” Eric explained honestly.

He hung up a bag of fluids and swiftly sterilized her arm before inserting the needle into it. Content (C) Nôv/elDra/ma.Org.

Dorian’s brows furrowed. What had happened had been extremely dangerous. Could she have orchestrated all of this to trick him?

It would be just like their third anniversary. She had lied and said burglars had snuck into the manor to get him to come home.

Eric stood at the side, awaiting instructions.

After a while, Dorian spoke again. “I understand. Just stay here for the time being.”

He glanced at Gisele, who was covered in wounds. All the sympathy he had for her immediately disappeared when he found out that this was just an elaborate ploy.

The lengths she could go to were unbelievable!

He returned to his study in a foul mood. Then, he took out his phone, only to realize that it had run out of battery.

He charged his phone for a while before turning it back on. His phone screen was bombarded with a dozen missed calls and almost 100 unread messages.

Most of them were from Bernard and Sierra.

Dorian didn’t open the texts and immediately called Sierra back.

“Don.” Her hoarse and tired voice came from the other end of the line.

His heart immediately sank.

“Why are you up so early?” he asked worriedly. It was about 5:30 am. On normal occasions, Sierra didn’t wake up until 6:30 am.

“Did you not see my messages, Don?” She got a bit worked up, but she soon reverted back to

her usual, sweet voice.

She then continued, “Where did you and Gisele go? She… killed someone. The police want to interrogate her at the station.”

Sierra gripped her phone tightly. She didn’t dare to breathe as she waited for his reply.

Dorian furrowed his eyebrows and questioned, “How is that possible? Michael passed out because I kicked the door down, but that wasn’t enough to get him killed.”

Upon noticing how her question about their whereabouts got ignored, Sierra’s heart fell

even further.

She knew better than anyone how strong that poison was. In order to avoid repeating her mistakes, she had made sure to use a special incense too.

Had all of it worked out in Gisele’s favor instead?

“I’m not too sure either. I think you should get her to make a trip down to the police station,

Don.”

She didn’t want to dwell on this matter. So, she forced a cough and tried to sound weaker than she was.

“Don, could you accompany me to the hospital?” she asked before coughing again. “My

lungs feel really uncomfortable.” “Alright, I’ll drop by in a while.”
