Chapter 1 The ceremony
Susan turned around and watched Chandler come with a fierce look.
She froze and watched in disbelief as he approached.
Chandler came up and yanked her wrist, then grabbed her out without a word.
“What are you doing?” Susan was confused, her wrist was raw from his tugging, and she grunted in a small voice, “It hurts …”
“Where are you taking me?” She was thrown into the car, and her head hit the window.
Chandler was no longer silent and asked her with a snort, “Do you know what day it is?”
“What day?” She traced the question again, and suddenly, she went as white as a sheet.
Chandler saw her like this and smiled coldly, “now you know.”
Susan turned to open the car door on her side.
Today was the day of her sister’s funeral.
How could she not know?
The car door was already locked, and no matter how much she struggled, she couldn’t get it open.
“I’m not going.” The moment she thought of that, Chandler’s purpose came along with it. She couldn’t go there, absolutely not.
Susan thought of the way her mother had almost gotten down on her knees the other day, and how her parents would be angry if she went there today.
“Open the door!” There is no way to do it herself, she can only beg the person in front of her, “let me out, OK?”All text © NôvelD(r)a'ma.Org.
“I’ll let you go if you can make Karen come alive.” He returned expressionlessly.
Susan paused, knowing that it was useless to beg him, so she could only be quiet.
Chandler glanced behind him and snickered.
Susan’s face turned white at the sound.
After arriving at the place, Chandler pulled her and went straight to the church.
She peeked around and was temporarily relieved to see that there were no her parents.
He sneered, “What, are you so happy to see that she’s dead?”
“No, I’m also very sad … about the death of Karen.”
“Sad?” Chandler interrupted her unconcernedly and questioned in front of Karen’s coffin: “What you mean by sad is that you didn’t even come to her funeral, don’t forget, she died for you.”
Susan frowned and denied, “It’s not true.”
“Then you’re saying Karen’s will is also a fake?” Chandler sneered, and the hatred in his eyes grew worse.
The surrounding people were unsure, but listening to Chandler’s words, they also looked at Susan with contempt.
Susan looked at him, confused, and asked, “Why don’t you trust me either?”
“Because you’re not trustworthy,” Chandler said without blinking an eye.
The people around them were already talking. The shame of being stripped naked and thrown out on the street for people to see came over her. “It’s not me.” She frowned, “I didn’t get her killed, I didn’t do anything.”
Chandler almost wanted to choke her to death, but in the end, he suppressed it and said angrily, “You didn’t do anything and you let her die because of you, Susan, shame on you!”
And then he said in a cold voice, “Let’s get a divorce.”
Susan stared at the man in front of her in disbelief, “a divorce?”
“Yes.” He gave her a cold glance and then looked away.
The people around him were also disdainfully mocked.
The chaotic sounds kept irritating her ears, and Susan desperately wanted to run away.
“I said it’s not me!” Susan couldn’t help but yell out, and her eyes reddened.
“No… It’s not supposed to be like this. It’s her… is…..” Susan was dazed and her voice trailed off.
Chandler didn’t expect her to pass out either. He had seen many excuses, but it was the first time he had seen such. He hated her more than ever, and he didn’t understand how she could still be alive.
Everything that happened before seemed like a dream. Was it a dream? she asked herself.
When Susan’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gray, came in and saw her awake, Mrs. Gray accused, “It’s not enough that you got Karen killed, you had to make a scene at her funeral, how much you hated her!”
“I… I didn’t mean to.” Susan’s lips trembled slightly as she hurriedly argued.
Mrs. Gray’s eyes were red and she said angrily, “Not on purpose? I clearly said not to go there before, and now you’re telling me it wasn’t on purpose?”
“I …”
Before she could explain, there was another knock on the door and the doctor came in,
“Excuse me,” he said in a warm voice to Susan, “Congratulations Mrs. Walker, you are now two months pregnant.”
As soon as the words came out, several people were shocked.
Chandler, who had been standing in a corner, came out and said very coldly, “Get rid of the baby.”
