Chapter 14 Looking For A Job
Chapter 14 Looking For A Job
Under her repeated questioning, I could only admit that the man I indulged in that night was Brandon.
"Hollie, I think that Brandon is pretty good. If you can be with him, it will definitely be much better than
being with that scumbag Vaughn." Têxt belongs to NôvelDrama.Org.
She was probably trying to help me move on from the break up, so she began giving me bad ideas.
I shook my head helplessly and sighed inwardly. Her imagination was too active. There was nothing
between me and Brandon except for that one night stand. We were from two completely different
worlds.
What kind of person was Brandon? He was someone who had immense influence in City A. His
business was spread throughout the country. Although he was a low-key person, everyone knew that
he was a rich man.
"It's impossible for me and Brandon to be together. You'd better not come up with any bad ideas."
I threw these words at her and went back to my room to rest.
"He is Vaughn's immediate superior. When you saw him today, he was so scared and respectful. If you
could become his immediate superior's boss, it would be great."
Evie's words made me stop. For a moment, I was really tempted. I admitted that I wanted to take
revenge on Vaughn, and I also admit that I was angry and resentful when I saw him with Laney!
But this idea only flashed in my mind for a second. Brandon and I had no relationship at all. As for why
he appeared in the bar that day, I didn't know. Maybe it was because rich people had their own
troubles, but this was not what I need to worry about.
The most important thing for me now was to adjust my mentality and find a job to feed myself.
The place where I worked before was too far away from Vaughn's company, so I quit my job. I had
planned to find another job closer to him after we got married.
The problem was that we did not get married, and now I was unemployed. There was probably no
woman in this world who was worse off than me. I gave up everything for a jerk...
Two more days passed. After receiving Evie's guidance every day, I gradually moved on from the break
up. I thought it through. There was no need for me to feel sad for a scumbag who betrayed me.
In the past few days, my life had returned to peace. I felt that my new life was about to begin.
Early in the morning, I got up and cleaned myself up. I was going to an interview, so I changed into a
professional suit and put on a simple light makeup, making myself look much more delicate and
capable.
I majored in graphic design, so I applied to advertisement companies.
I came to the largest advertising company in City A and looked at the towering building. I felt dizzy
gazing upwards from the ground.
My old company was a small advertising company. Even if I had an outstanding performance, I didn't
get much in bonuses. I knew that my abilities would only improve if I went to a bigger company, which
was why I chose this company.
The only bad thing was that Vaughn was also in this company. Originally, I didn't want to choose this
company, but for my future, I forced myself to work through my disgust for working in the same
company as a jerk, and applied for the interview.
