Chapter 1598 It’s Much Worse When Living Is More Suffering Than Dying

The second he saw Olivia, Davon knew they met before. He remembered that he found her during a

mission before.

Back then, she was hiding in a grave and looked terrified. He was trying to save her but he was on a

mission and couldn’t get her out of there. He gave her a phone number to call for help and told her his

name was Davon. After the mission was accomplished, he asked his friends if they had gotten any

calls, only to find out none of them got a call from her. Then Davon realized Olivia might not have a

phone on her at all.

If she had one, how could she not call for help herself?

But he was too busy to think this through.

So she got sick after that?

If so, he owed her once.

He looked at the unknown components in the blood test result and frowned.

This was not a disease. It was poison!

A slow poison.

Who poisoned her?

Her husband?

Davon kept frowning and went out of the room.

“Davon.”

Nicole was waiting outside. She stood up and looked nervous as Davon walked out. But Olivia just

glanced at him and scrolled through her phone, as if she didn’t give a crap about her condition.

Davon kept staring, which finally made her lift her head. She asked, “Something wrong with me?”

“No.”

Davon didn’t tell her the truth.

Nicole felt some tension in the air.

“Really, Davon?” Content rights by NôvelDr//ama.Org.

“Yes. She didn’t sleep well lately and her blood pressure is too low. I’ll give her some medicine and

she’ll be okay.”

Davon patted Nicole’s head, If Samuel saw that, he would get mad. Thinking that, he rubbed her hair

and messed it up.

“Davon!”

Nicole glared at him and Davon burst out laughing.

Seeing these two being so close, Olivia suddenly thought about Booth. She wondered if he was doing

well.

Nicole rolled her eyes at Davon and left with Olivia.

“Let’s find something yummy to eat.”

“Don’t eat too much. Her body can’t take in too much nutrition.”

Davon said that in a flat tone, which made Olivia realize something was up.

“Can we talk?”

“What about your friend?”

“I will take a walk myself.”

Olivia acted like she wasn’t the one who was sick and came up with a solution so quickly. She patted

Nicole’s hand and left.

After she left, Nicole stopped smiling.

“Davon, did you know her before?”

“You caught me.”

Davon took her hand and went into the lab. He locked the door and felt a little relieved.

“Olivia...”

“She’s been poisoned.”

Nicole was terrified and shocked at his words,

“Poisoned? How come?”

“Her blood test result said so. From the look on her face, I think she knows.”

Nicole didn’t agree with him.

“No way! If she knows, why didn’t she say anything?”

“But does she look worried to you?”

Thinking of Olivia’s early behaviors, Nicole froze.

Right, if she didn’t know about this, she wouldn’t be so calm.

What was going on?

“Is the poison strong?”

“Not deadly. It will make her cough blood and suffer from chest tightness. But in a long run, it will do

harm to her body. Also, it was a blessing from disguise,”

He looked at her and continued, “Back then, she couldn’t get pregnant because of inflammation of

uterus. This slow poison accidentally cured the inflammation and she is able to be a mom now after

she recovers.”

“What?”

Nicole was cheered up.

“Are you telling the truth?”

“Do I need to lie to you? But this kind of slow poison is rare and doesn’t do much harm to her body,

which is kind of surprising. Who has she been with lately?”

“I don’t know.”

Davon was sleepy afterwards.

He stretched and yawned, “I wanna go back to my room if there’s nothing else you want to ask me.

Phoenix is about to wake up.”

“Davon, you haven’t told me if you knew Olivia before.”

Thinking of the awkwardness between them, Nicole couldn’t help asking.

Davon told her what happened on that mission and Nicole was astonished.

“You met her when she was stuck in the grave?”

“My mission was urgent and I didn’t think too much. I gave a phone number but I didn’t realize she

didn’t have a phone.”

Davon was actually pretty upset. It had been a few years. But he was still embarrassed now.

Nicole was speechless.

So Olivia was telling the truth when she said she heard of his name before.

It turned out everybody knew each other after all this. Nicole was amazed at the coincidence.

She walked out of the lab and found Olivia was bathing in the sunlight, looking peaceful.

Nicole thought about what Davon said. She took a deep breath and sat beside Olivia.

Noticing someone was sitting next to her, Olivia looked back and smiled beautifully at Nicole.

“You’re here.”

“You know about the poison all along?”

Nicole suddenly felt like she didn’t know her at all.

She had an instinct that maybe Olivia poisoned herself.

After a while, Olivia paused and smiled bitterly, “I see that your cousin has told you everything.”

“Why would you do that? Who gave you the poison?”

Nicole was mad. She dragged Olivia’s arm and yelled, “Do you know that is poison? If you took too

much, you would die! Do you know what death means?!”

“I know! But it’s much worse when living is more suffering than dying.”

Olivia seemed relieved. She looked at Nicole and tears ran down her cheeks.

“Nicole, I know I can’t hide this from you. Ever since you took me to your cousin, I knew I couldn’t lie

anymore. But I didn’t do this to hurt you.”

“I don’t care if you hurt me. But you should never see your own life as a joke! You shouldn’t take your

life as a bet for others! No one is worth it! Not me, not Booth and of course not Jacob!”

Nicole roared and started to cry.

She could tell that Olivia did that for Jacob.
