CHAPTER 33- YOU HAVE ME
CHAPTER 33- YOU HAVE ME
Ryan could feel something piercing down his heart, he was never an apathetic person yet for this little
girl all he felt was an endless pity. She was really young, childhood was said to be the golden age of a
person's entire life- while he was drained off in learning how to survive alone this girl's life too wasn't
much better than him. She too was learning to live alone but sadly, this left a deep scar in her.
Catherine wiped her nose with her palm before looking around the room, casting a smile weaker than
her she said, "You asked, right, why I have so many stuff toys in my room. They are here... To make
me feel a little less lonely. At night, when they are around... I feel a little less by myself. I... During
nightmares, I couldn't call anyone to accompany me; all I can do was..." Catherine hugged her Fiona
doll and closed her beautiful round eyes drowned in sorrow, "hug them and try to find... Warmth in them
which makes me feel... Not alone and... Insecure."
A single tear made its way down her cheeks from her closed eyes as she continued to hug the doll
thinking about all the nights she slept alone. Her daddy would barely be home or even if he was he
would chase her out due to work and she knew the nanny was too tired to comfort her. A hundred pairs
of lifeless eyes somehow managed to make her feel as if she was accompanied by somebody and
thus, she bought so many toys that her room refused to make some space for more.
Ryan had no idea what he was supposed to do, he felt as if something cruel was tugging on his heart
and tearing it apart mercilessly. Ever since he had gain consciousness he hated his life, he had always
had to be alert. Even though his father had everything arranged for his family's security young Ryan
was still failed to feel safe around them and this was the foremost reason he engaged himself in
military training at such a young age.
He knew the world was cruel but what he couldn't accept was the fact that it was even the same to a
pure-hearted girl like the one sitting next to her. At this tender age of five, she was all lonely and
insecure, living by herself which was something really unacceptable for him.
If it was someone else he wouldn't have batted an eyelid but this girl... She meant more than anything
to him. He genuinely cares for her and selfishly wanted to keep her the happiest and flower her with all
the love she deserved.
He gently kept his palm on her head and caressed her, vowing to her with the same tenderness, "It's
alright... You won't be lonely or insecure anymore, I am here now. I will protect you and lay down all the
happiness you deserve beneath your feet."
The girl opened her eyes and looked at the boy, her eyes were red as the result of her crying. Ryan's
heartaches seeing her like this; he wiped off her tears and corrected her hairs. He smiled warmly and
said, "It's ok... I got you." He kept his palm on her small arms and clutched them in his fists; for some
reason, the girl calmed down and got herself at ease. Content provided by NôvelDrama.Org.
He looked straight into her eyes and replied, "You don't have to buy dolls to keep you company
anymore... You have me! I will be here for you whenever you need me."
"R... Really..." Her puppy eyes blinked innocently as she asked; who was he, she was just meeting him
for the second time yet he was more caring towards her than the dances she had been seeing since
she was born.
Warmth and peace crept inside her heart as she looked at her hand that was tightly clutched by him; he
was strong and didn't realize that he was asserting a bit too much force on her weak hands but for
some reason, the girl felt the pain subsiding the pain in her heart.
She smiled at him and wiped her eyes, even though he was unable to accept the fact that someone
was actually vowing to mend her life but she wanted to give her all to him and exper5 how it felt to be
protected.
Ryan kept her company till the girl ate and went to sleep; he even narrated her a bedtime story in his
warm voice. Standing at the door Jack looked at the two and smelled something fishy; the way his
friend was acting was rather strange as he was never this soft, not even made his voice this soothing,
for anyone else.
Seeing her sleeping sweetly he pulled up the blankets for her and turned off the light in the most silent
easy possible lest he woke her up. After he shut the door he was back to his usual cold self, the aura
around.d him drastically turned back to his old self indifferent and unapproachable.
Jack reported, "Your dad has been calling me like crazy, Ryan." He grunted in acknowledgment before
the two young lads made their way down the stairs. After bidding farewell to the nanny they were about
to leave when they saw Mr. Silva walk in through the door, he was finally off work. The man was
surprised to see the boys still around.
"Mr. Silva." Jack greeted politely while the other stood boiling with rage inside, what kind of father he
was. He was returning after she went to sleep; he understood that work was important but neglecting
his family for business was way too much. Ryan's respect for the man went beyond zero and started
ranging in the negative scale.
"Hello, boys. You must be Jack and you must be Ryan." The man guesses them out correctly; Ryan
extended his arms to shake them firmly with the man, "Pleasure to meet you, sir."
"Sir? Ahh... You are my little girl's friend. Call me uncle, it's fine." The businessman insisted. Ryan
looked up at him with his poker face before saying, "We were here to accompany Catherine. She is
already sleeping and thus, we are heading back home."
His tone had a hint of coldness which the man noticed, maybe he was always drained of emotions- the
man said to himself before seeing off the two little guys.
Jack and Ryan rode back home, the intel that they were heading back home was already passed down
to his dad.
Sitting in the back seat the boy looked at the night sky, the moon was shining bright illuminating the
whole city of Barcelona. Jack looked at Ryan, he knew was something was churning in his mind but
was unable to determine what it exactly was, one unpredictable mind he possessed.
While Jack was trying to guess what he was thinking the boy broke the silence, "Jack!"
"What's up?" Jack's curiosity finally found glee seeing that he was finally speaking up but what the boy
next asked took him off the guards.
"Do you think five years age difference is too much?"
