Chapter 49.
Chloe left home with lots of anger roaming in her, she was so sad witnessing what she just saw.
“If I had known, I wouldn’t have bothered to go see her in the bakery. Isn’t it better than meeting what I didn’t expect?”
She grimaced her face, her palm kept squeezing the bed covers rumbling it. Tears were rolling down her cheeks uncontrollably.
“But why am I worried? Isn’t ma’am Vanessa old enough to get married… or rather have a lover?” She squeezed the bed cover again.
“Does it mean that I’m jealous or what?” She wiped her face with the back of her left palm.
Her eyes widened and she yawned. “I guess the young man might be her lover, but I don’t like him… I don’t want her to be with another man.” She muttered to herself.
“Maybe I should tell Dad when he’s back he needs to do something about it.”
She sniffed and breathed heavily. “Why should I even tell him that, when he already has a fiance? There is nothing to tell him about… or, no… I will tell him even if he has a fiance.”
She gripped her head like one running insane. “I don’t even know what’s going on with me… the reason this issue should bother me is what I can tell. But…” she sighed. “I’m not just comfortable… I don’t want her with another man… I wish another man would take her away from my dad.” she thought, biting her lips.
“Chloe…” she overheard Tracy calling out her name from the corridor.
Before she could give a response, Tracy had already banged the door open and walked in towards the bed.
“What’s going on with you Chloe? Your facial expression isn’t bright at all.” Tracy held her leg.
She lifted her head to see Tracy who sat on the bed staring at her face that was stained with tears.
“You are crying Chloe… What’s the matter? Did anyone hurt you?” she asked curiously.
She nodded. “Yes! okay.. no, she didn’t hurt me…but it hurts.”
Tracy found that statement so funny that she couldn’t help but laugh out loud.
“Now tell me what’s funny about what I just said. Did I commit a crime to tell you what’s wrong with me huh?” Chloe spluttered.
“Not at all darling, but it’s kind of funny. I can’t even get what you mean. You just said something that sounds silly.” Tracy licked her lips.
“She didn’t hurt you… but it hurts. Now tell me, who is that? Hope it isn’t me.” She bit her lips
Chloe took a deep breath. “It’s ma’am Vanessa, I just left now to see her at the bakery but with a young man though she was almost leaving, maybe to deliver the orders she got.”
Tracy narrowed her eyes. “Are you being serious? You saw her with another man?”
She hissed out loud. “Maybe I’m turning blind, or I don’t even know what I’m doing again.” She looked off. “I repeat myself, I saw ma’am Vanessa with a young man at her bakery just this afternoon.”
Tracy felt hurt within her, now she could see the reason her little sister made that statement.
“But… Why are you worried? Isn’t she grown up enough to get married?”
Chloe stretched her lips. “To be honest Tracy, I don’t even know why I’m worried… but I don’t just want to see her with any other man.”
“Just like me, I don’t wish to see her with another man… but she’s supposed to get married. You know what, let’s keep our eyes off her…her mode of living isn’t our issue.” Tracy suggested.
“That’s for you but not for me, trust me I’m going to tell Dad once he’s back. He needs to talk sense into her head.” The little girl added.
“Talk sense into her head? Do you even know what you’re saying Chloe? That she’s making a mistake by having a lover right?” Tracy threw the question at her.
She shook her head. “I don’t even know, but that’s just what I mean… I don’t know why I feel like she’s losing some senses. Maybe Dad will put some knots in her head again. I hate that man I saw in her bakery today.”
“Chloe, it’s time you mind your business, that she’s your babysitter doesn’t mean you should step into her private matters. Let go of her for goodness sake…her mode of living is none of your business.” She paused and scratched her head. “Don’t you ever tell Dad.”
“Then trust me Tracy, I will do that once Dad is back. I’ll make sure I tell him.” She insisted and laid down.
Tracy stared at her for a while.
“Chloe will never stop being so stubborn.”
She got on her feet and left her room.

Vanessa glanced at Chloe who hasn’t said a word to her since she came. She had recalled her action in the afternoon but was expecting her to ask some questions.
But since she didn’t… she had decided to do that herself.
She moved towards the sofa getting seated beside her. Chloe didn’t bother sparing her a glance.
“What’s going on with you darling?”
“You don’t refer to me as darling…. call me sweetheart.” She replied instantly.
Vanessa smiled. “Okay sweetheartz what’s going on your mind?”
She pouted her lips. “Nothing, I just want to be alone.”
“Why…? You mean I should leave you huh?” Vanessa widened her eyes.
“Not at all…. I’m not talking about you. But nothing is wrong with me, I’m fine.” she responded.
Vanessa herself wasn’t okay with that response, but she couldn’t force words out of her mouth. She got on her feet and left the room.
Chloe began blaming herself for not asking her whom the man she met her with is to her.
She shook her head in anger.
“Gosh! I don’t think I will ever make this mistake again…losing a privilege that should have done much for me.” She shrugged her shoulders and laid her head on the sofa.
Vanessa came back with her dinner, but she insisted she would feed her.
It wasn’t a big deal for Vanessa, she ought you comply with that. She watched Chloe as you bit and swallowed the food.
“I’ll be leaving immediately, I don’t want to stay long today.”
“No problem, I will go to bed when I feel like it.” She replied.
Vanessa loves that statement. Since she has taken her shower already, there is no other thing left.ConTEent bel0ngs to Nôv(e)lD/rama(.)Org .
When she was done with everything, she left the house back home.

So many minutes elapsed after Vanessa left, Chloe stepped down to the sitting room to meet her dad seated on the sofa.
“Welcome dad… Did you meet ma’am Vanessa when coming back?” she asked.
Xavier shook his head. “I didn’t… is there any problem?” he referred to her again.
She didn’t give an answer to the question, rather she got seated beside him.
“Chloe, you aren’t saying anything.”
“Not at all, just that she left some minutes ago and here you are.” She gave a reply.
“Well, I’m just coming back now. There’s nothing much.”
“All right, dad, have you taken your dinner?”
“I will take it when I feel like it,”Xavier replied, very busy with her cell phone.
Chloe ran her fingers in his hair. “I met ma’am Vanessa with a man today at her bakery.” she announced.
Xavier narrowed his eyes, he just believed it to be an imagination.
He pretended to be deaf.
“Are you hearing me dad, I said that I met ma’am Vanessa with a man today at her bakery.”
This time he turned towards her. “You’re trying to be serious huh? Ummm! You saw Vanessa with a man? No, you must be joking.”
“Dad, I left to see her… then I met the man. You wouldn’t believe that I got angry while I shouldn’t be.” Chloe uttered vividly.
His face twisted.
“What the heck? Who is that fucking man that visited Vanessa at her bakery?” The question ran in his mind.
He doesn’t love that, and he wouldn’t keep mute to it. Vanessa must answer that question the next day.
