Dumping Him for His Uncle (Natasha and Zachary)

Natasha's major at university was medicine. Coincidentally, the girl who had recommended her, Trina Clem, had also studied medicine.

Recently, Hawthorn University posted an announcement inviting alumni back for a celebration. The university's medical research lab developed a new patented

invention, which was sold to a major company.

"Are you sure Trina will come back?" Natasha asked.

Natasha thought of the worst-case scenario, but Owen was clearly more optimistic.

"Even if we can't find Trina, we can always ask her classmates. If there's a lead, we'll find it. If we do nothing, the clues won't just fall into our laps," Owen said.

Taking a deep breath, Natasha nodded. "You're right. As long as we have a lead, it's better than having nothing to go on."

She had tried investigating before, but every time, she ended up without any clues. The celebration was in two days, so there was no rush.

They ended up working late into the night, brainstorming and solving many challenges. Natasha threw herself into the work, finishing what would have taken a whole week in just one day.

"Thanks, everyone, for all your hard work. I ordered some smoothie for everyone," she said with a smile.

It was getting late, so Natasha packed up and headed home.

As she reached the entrance of her apartment complex, she saw someone she didn't want to see. Pulling her hat down to cover her face, she tried to slip past unnoticed.

However, Olivia grabbed her arm. "Miss, do you know there's a girl living here who looks just like you? We're her parents, and we wanted to check in with her. Could you help us out?"

Natasha had rented this place partly because the security was strict. Without the property owner's approval, no one could get in.

She shook her head. Olivia could be incredibly persistent.

"We really are her parents. This girl has been so stubborn since she was young, and we're worried about her."

Seeing that she couldn't avoid them, Natasha took off her mask and said, "What are you doing here?"

Olivia's and Henry's expressions changed immediately. "You brat! Were you just waiting to see us embarrass ourselves?"

Olivia raised her hand to strike Natasha on the back of her head, but Henry grabbed her arm. Though he often told her not to hit people, Olivia seemed to have a grudge against Natasha's head.

When Natasha was young, Olivia would always find any excuse to scold and hit her.

Later, Natasha understood. Olivia had always resented that Natasha was sharper than Nicole. She seemed to believe that with enough scolding and control, she could crush that intelligence right out of her.

"Stop wasting time. I don't have time for your nonsense," Natasha said, her patience wearing thin.

She had known they would come for trouble but never expected them to be so shameless.

"We know you have a good relationship with Mr. Foster Senior. Can't you say something on Nicole's behalf? Their wedding didn't happen last time.

"Now that everything's out in the open, it just wouldn't look right if Nicole didn't marry Matthew. It wouldn't make sense-legally or emotionally." Henry spoke as if he were issuing an order, like it was her duty to obey.

Natasha's voice broke as she snapped, "I was the one who got cheated on. Matthew was the one who strayed, and Nicole was the one who seduced him.

"And now you want me, the one who was hurt the most, to plead on their behalf? You don't see how absurd that sounds?"

She had already swallowed her pride once, and they still weren't satisfied.

"Shut your mouth! Don't twist it like Nicole was seducing anyone—they're in love. What's so wrong with helping your sister?"

In Olivia's mind, anything that involved Natasha helping out was never up for discussion. The fact that she was the older sister was reason enough.
