Chapter 30
David gave Natasha a big thumbs up before informing the rest of the staff that work had finished for the day.
Everyone cheered out loud, "Working for Natasha is the best! We get to get off on time every day!"
The entire recording studio was in a cheerful atmosphere. Natasha, too, had also vented most of her anger through working on her voice recordings.
Amelia was the only person who noticed that something was off with Natasha. "Did something happen, Natasha? I could tell that something was off the moment you walked in."
Natasha didn't bother explaining much about what had happened.
Amelia continued to tease Natasha. "Oh, forget it. I won't force you to talk if you don't want to. By the way, there's some good news that I'm sure you'd want to hear."noveldrama
"What, don't tell me Jack is coming?" Natasha asked casually.
She almost choked on her drink when she saw that Amelia was not denying her question. She coughed hard a few times before asking the question again in disbelief.
Amelia replied, "But he came pretty suddenly this time. There's a chance to catch a glimpse of him, but I can't promise anything."
Natasha grabbed Amelia's arms with both hands. "It doesn't matter if I can't see him face to face! Just being able to see him from afar would be enough for me!"
Jack was every voice actor's idol. He became a legend in the industry from the very moment he made his debut.
His deep and alluring voice instantly gathered himself a massive following of fangirls, with Natasha being one of them.
Natasha was not swayed by his voice in particular. She just felt that his first voice acting work was also the perfect fit for the male lead in her opinion.
His voice was filled with layers of longing and reluctance while still displaying a hint of rationality. It fit the image of a devoted man who stood silently in the corner and watched from afar.
Natasha herself was also part of the project that Jack debuted in, but she was only voicing a minor role.
She was a newcomer in the industry back then. In the blink of an eye, she had already made it to where she was now.
Amelia explained, "He'll be coming through our company's staff-only passage in a bit. That will be your chance if you want to see him."
With that, Natasha jumped on her electric scooter and sped off without hesitation.
She had only managed to catch a glimpse of him every time she tried to look for him because his crazed fans would always shove her to the very edge.
But this time, no one should be left to compete with her within the company's staff-only passage.
But when she arrived, Natasha finally understood the power of a huge fanbase. She saw that the entrance to the passage was already swarmed with Jack's fans.
A woman wearing an employee badge whispered to Natasha as she led her down another route to the passage. "You're Natasha, right? Ms. Brown had told me about you in advance. Please come with me."
She continued, "We can't really stop the fans from gathering here, so please be careful not to get hurt in the crowd."
Natasha just smiled and nodded.
The stairwell soon fell silent. Although it was noon, the lack of sunlight made the place look rather eerie.
Natasha did not know when Jack would appear, so she had no choice but to wait quietly in the corner.
About 40 to 50 minutes later, footsteps finally echoed from above her.
She could not tell who it was, but she still looked up the stairs with anticipation.
Suddenly, a boy in basketball shorts with a basketball in his hands appeared.
The moment their eyes met, the light in Natasha's eyes faded away.
The boy chuckled and waved upstairs. He then continued down the stairs and glanced back at Natasha once after passing by her.
Natasha found the scene rather odd but said nothing about it.
What do you think?
