Dumping Him for His Uncle (Natasha and Zachary)

Chapter 35

It was already past midnight when Natasha woke up again.

The IV drip ticked steadily beside her. She turned and saw Zachary holding onto a

tablet with a frown. "You're awake. Here, eat up," he said.

There were two bowls of porridge on the small table nearby.

"Thanks. Sorry for troubling you again."

Natasha ate the porridge and felt a bit of strength returning to her body.

She thought Zachary would only be staying with her briefly, but it was already close to 1:00 am by then. "It's getting late, Mr. Foster. Are you not going home?"

She suddenly remembered something and picked up her phone to transfer 500 dollars to Zachary. "Sorry, I almost forgot about this. This is for my medical expenses. 500 dollars should be enough, right?"

Zachary looked back at her without saying anything, and she just took it as a silent agreement.

Natasha realized that she must have overestimated herself now that she had passed out all of a sudden.

He remained silent for some time, and she wondered if she had said something that upset him again, only to hear him ask, "Ms. Bradley, are you always this polite to everyone?"

She did not quite understand what he meant and replied, "You and I are just acquaintances, but you brought me to the hospital, bought me food, and even stayed to look after me. It's only normal that I thank you for that, no?"

It was a perfectly reasonable answer, but Zachary did not like it.

Suddenly, the door to the hospital room flew open abruptly, revealing Xavier standing in the doorway. He was still panting for air as he plopped himself down beside her bed. "What happened to you? How did you end up in the hospital?"noveldrama

Zachary could not help but raise his eyebrows slightly.

Natasha relaxed a little in the presence of a friend. "It's nothing serious. It's just my stomach problems flaring up again."

"Didn't you promise me that you wouldn't end up in the hospital because of your stomach again? Or was that just a lie?"

Xavier slapped her angrily, and Natasha kicked him right back.

"Can't you see that I'm on an IV drip? What are you slapping me for?" Natasha shouted.

Zachary just closed his eyes as the two of them started hitting each other.

"By the way, Mr. Foster, you can leave now if there's nothing left. You don't have to stay here with me. Xavier will look after me."

Natasha did not want to disrupt his work schedule, as she could tell that he was busy.

Zachary quickly came up with an excuse. "It's fine. I like how quiet it is here."

She replied, "It's quiet for now, yes. But once Xavier starts playing games on his phone, it'll be anything but quiet."

Natasha did not understand why Zachary was still sticking around. She wondered if it was because she hadn't paid him back enough money.

She then transferred another 200 dollars to him, believing that it would definitely be enough.

She had spent more than what she could earn in a day. It was a loss by all definitions.

In the end, Zachary had no choice but to leave as both Xavier and Natasha stared at him with confusion.

Julian, who was waiting outside the room, had no idea what had happened within. He just followed after Zachary as he left. "Mr. Foster, don't you want to stay here a little longer?"

Xavier grabbed an apple and rubbed it on his shirt before taking a bite. "Is it just me, or is Mr. Foster acting rather weird?"

Natasha realized from how he was eating the apple that he would not be peeling any of them for her. "Having you look after me is probably the worst decision ever!"
