Dumping Him for His Uncle (Natasha and Zachary)

Chapter 93

Once the balance of the situation tipped, an overwhelming turn of events followed.

"Just take it as me begging you," Matthew pleaded. He realized now that his fate was entirely in Natasha's hands. His tone softened noticeably.

Natasha let out a cold laugh. "Now, that's a surprise. This is the first time I've ever seen you beg."

"Don't push it, Natasha. I'll give you a million dollars," he offered again.

Natasha had never seen that much money in her life. But she knew that if she agreed to his offer, there was no telling if she would be killed one day.

"I never intended to blackmail you. So, take your money back," she responded coldly.

As she spoke, she walked toward the door and gestured for him to leave.

Her response left Matthew completely confused. What was her reason for doing all of this if it wasn't for money?

He couldn't figure it out no matter how hard he thought about it. That said, it was clear that she had lost her patience with him. He had no choice but to leave for

now.

Although her mood had soured from the encounter, she still had to go to campus.

Returning to campus felt oddly comforting. As she walked along a familiar path, she ran into someone she knew.

"Congratulations. I didn't think you would make it back here to pursue your PhD," Faye said with a tone filled with envy.noveldrama

With her intelligence, Natasha was sure Faye could have pursued a PhD. Unfortunately, Faye was forced to give up on her studies due to her family situation.

"Are you here just to see me?" Natasha questioned. She took a deep breath and turned to face Faye directly.

Faye had left her a business card last time. Natasha hadn't rushed to contact her because she wasn't sure whether to trust Faye.

"You could say that. I do need something from you," Faye answered with an uneasy expression on her face. She looked visibly exhausted.

"I really need your help right now. If you don't believe me, you can come with me to the hospital," Faye pleaded. She wasn't sure what she had done wrong or why Natasha seemed upset with her.

"It's not that I don't believe you. I'm just wondering if it's worth it," Natasha replied.

Even if Faye managed to extort something from Nicole, she wouldn't dare report it to the police. After all, Natasha was the one who encouraged her in the first place.

"If you had actually discovered anything useful, you wouldn't still be in the dark," Faye replied, her eyes flickering with something unreadable. What she said wasn't wrong.

"So if you really want to know the truth, I'm always around," she added. With that, Faye quickly shoved another business card into Natasha's hand and hurried off.

Natasha glanced down at the card. Then, she looked up at Faye's retreating figure, and her mood grew heavy.

"What are you doing here? Professor Stone's waiting for you in the office."

Zachary suddenly appeared behind her. Natasha was surprised to see him.

"Why are you here?" she asked curiously.

Zachary smiled at her question and replied, "I bet you didn't know that I graduated from here too."

The two of them walked side by side to the administrative building. They looked like a perfect pair. Passersby couldn't help but gossip a little.

"You graduated from here too? That makes you my senior, doesn't it?"

Zachary smiled and didn't deny it.

Now that she thought about it, she was six years younger than him. He had already graduated a year before she enrolled.

"But I didn't spend much time on campus. Once I got my degree, I never really came back."
