Chapter 280 The Two Strange Individuals

Daniel shook his head, his voice hoarse, “It’s okay…”

Before he could finish speaking, I raised my hand to touch his forehead. It was frighteningly hot, he was

running a fever.

Daniel was momentarily stunned as I suddenly touched his forehead. He probably had a slow reaction,

but he smiled at me and said, “It’s okay.”

This was a fever, truly dangerous. Looking at Sebastian, I said, “He has a fever.”

Sebastian’s reaction was more nervous than mine. He suddenly stood up, not bothering to say more,

he left the cave. When he came back, he was hurriedly holding a medical kit, squatting next to Daniel

and said, “Sir, I will give you some relief medicine.”

As he spoke, he reached out towards Daniel. C0ntent © 2024 (N/ô)velDrama.Org.

Somehow, Daniel’s face suddenly changed, he opened his hand, his voice coldly saying, “No need.”

I was startled, looking at Daniel and Sebastian in confusion. Sebastian still had a worried look on his

face. Daniel seemed to have realized that his actions were too frightening, and glanced at me, saying,

“I’m fine.”

He then looked at Sebastian and said, “Make a comfortable place for Ms. Conner to rest for a while.”

I frowned, wondering what time it was, and he was still thinking about letting me rest. For a moment, I

looked at him and said, “I’m not tired,

you have a fever, you need to take some medicine quickly!”

Thinking back to when Sebastian said he needed his medication changed, I was taken aback. I noticed

the bandaged area on his face, which was due to a fight with Walter.

Without much thought, I looked at Sebastian and said, “Find the fever reducer, I’ll help him change the

medicine.”

After speaking, I looked at Daniel and said, “I’ll change the bandage on your face.” I wasn’t sure if he

didn’t like being touched by others, which might have been why he reacted so strongly just now.

Daniel paused, a flicker of something different in his eyes, but he still nodded at me.

Sebastian, on the other hand, seemed somewhat hesitant to speak. I wasn’t sure if I was overthinking,

but I always felt that Daniel had glanced at him, giving him a warning look.

The relationship between these two people was truly somewhat inscrutable.

After receiving a warning glance from Daniel, Sebastian furrowed his brows and searched for medicine

in the first aid kit, then handed me the medicine to be replaced.

Daniel’s face injury was not severe, it had almost healed. The swelling caused by Walter’s punch had

subsided, and the originally bruised area had faded. It seemed like it might not need to be bandaged

anymore.

But seeing Sebastian seemed quite worried, I didn’t say much more. I helped Daniel change the

swelling patch that was originally on him.

“Does it still hurt?” It wasn’t that I was being nosy, but the cave was so empty. The three of us were

silent, creating a truly strange atmosphere.

Daniel looked at me, shook his head slightly, “Not painful.”

I smiled faintly as Sebastian handed him the medicine. I casually twisted open a bottle of mineral water,

but before I could hand it to him, I saw him take the medicine and swallow it directly.

This crude way of swallowing pills stunned me for a moment, and I quickly handed him water, saying,

“Drink some water.”

Hearing my words, Daniel finally glanced at me. Seeing the water I was handing him, he cracked a

slight smile, took it and had a sip, uttering a “Thank you!”

He then looked at Sebastian and said, “Make a comfortable place for Ms. Conner, let her have a rest.”

Sebastian still looked at him with worry in his eyes, but seeing no change in his complexion, he could

only say, “Alright.”

He then came out of the cave, took a piece of clothing from the car, which he had prepared during his

time in Dracview, and handed it to me. He said, “Ms. Conner, you should get some sleep. The rain

outside is too heavy, we can’t continue our journey tonight.”

I nodded, seeing Daniel had taken his medicine and was sitting against the wall with his eyes closed to

rest. I didn’t want to disturb him, so I covered him with a piece of clothing. Sensing the movement,

Daniel looked up at me. He noticed the clothing on him and tried to remove it,— but I held it down.

“Don’t move,” I said. “You have a fever and you’ve taken medicine. If you catch a cold again, it will be

troublesome in this wilderness.”

Having a fever was not a trivial matter.

His thin lips curled into a faint smile as he said, “I’m fine, you cover up.”

Holding up another item in my hand, I said, “There’s more.” Sebastian didn’t just sell one item, so there

was no need for all the fuss. Seeing this, he said no more and slightly closed his eyes.

Seeing him appear somewhat tired, I assumed it was due to his fever and didn’t say much more.

Seeing Sebastian still looking at Daniel with worry in his eyes, he couldn’t help but lower his voice and

said to Sebastian, “Don’t worry, it might be because the temperature in the mountains is low and he’s

cold. He’s taken medicine and will sleep for a while. He’ll be fine by tomorrow morning.”

Sebastian frowned, looking at me and said, “This isn’t just about taking medicine…”

“Sebastian!” Daniel suddenly spoke, his voice abruptly turning cold. He looked at Sebastian, his voice

icy as he said, “Get some rest early. We have to continue our journey tomorrow.”
