You and me now
Nathan’s eyes softened, and he took a step closer to her. “I don’t want to lose you, Demelza. I promise, I’ve taken Silver back to her apartment. It’s just you and me now. Please, come home.”
Demelza hesitated, her mind racing with conflicting thoughts.
She knew her parents had warned her about moving in with Nathan, and going back to them would mean admitting they were right. But she also couldn’t deny the love she felt for Nathan.
“I can’t go back home,” she finally said, her voice filled with sadness. “My parents warned me about this, and I ignored them. I can’t face them now.”
Nathan’s expression softened further, regret etched on his face. “I’m sorry, Demelza. I never wanted to put you in this position. I’ll do whatever it takes to make it right, I promise.”
Demelza walked back to the bed and sat down, her eyes filled with tears. Nathan followed her, sitting beside her and taking her hand in his. “Please, don’t make me tell you to choose, Nathan. I can’t bear it.”
Nathan’s grip tightened on her hand, his voice filled with determination. “I won’t make you choose, Demelza. I choose you. I’ll do whatever it takes to make things right between us.”
Demelza looked into his eyes, searching for sincerity. After a moment of silence, she nodded slowly.
Nathan also nodded, relief washing over his face. “I promise, Demelza. From now on, it’s just you and me, facing whatever comes our way.”
Demelza sat on the edge of the hotel bed, her tired eyes fixed on Nathan.
She had grown weary of his empty promises, but she couldn’t deny the flicker of hope that still burned within her. “I’ll come back home tomorrow,” she said, her voice tinged with a mix of resignation and determination.
Nathan’s face lit up with a mischievous grin as he bounced onto the bed, causing the mattress to dip beneath his weight. “Why wait until tomorrow?” he suggested, his voice filled with a playful tone. “We might as well spend the night here together.”
A small smile tugged at the corners of Demelza’s lips, and she couldn’t help but chuckle as Nathan grabbed a nearby pillow and tossed it in her direction.
Instinctively, she caught it and retaliated, launching the pillow back at him.
The room filled with laughter as they began a pillow fight, their playful banter echoing through the air.
And soon their laughter gradually subsided, replaced by a charged silence.
Nathan’s eyes locked with Demelza’s, a mix of desire and longing evident in his gaze. Slowly, he closed the distance between them, his lips finding hers in a passionate kiss.
The intensity of their connection grew, their bodies entwined in desire.
But just as things began to escalate, Demelza pulled back, her breath ragged. Nathan’s hurt expression mirrored the confusion in his voice as he asked, “What happened?”
Demelza’s eyes darted away, her fingers fumbling to find the bedside lamp. With a click, the room was cast into darkness, save for the soft glow of the moonlight filtering through the curtains. She pulled the covers up to her chin, creating a barrier between them.
“I’m sorry,” she whispered, her voice barely audible. “I’m just not in the mood.”
Nathan’s hurt turned to concern as he reached out, his hand gently brushing against her arm. “Is everything okay?” he asked, his voice filled with genuine worry.
Demelza sighed, her eyes meeting him in the dim light. “It’s not you,” she reassured him. “I’m just tired, emotionally drained.”
Understanding washed over Nathan’s face, and he nodded, his arms wrapping around her in a comforting embrace. “I’m here for you,” he murmured, his voice filled with tenderness. ” Let’s just sleep.”
With those words, they settled into each other’s arms, finding solace in the warmth of their embrace. The room grew quiet, their breathing synchronized as they drifted off to sleep, their dreams intertwined with the promise of a new day.
Demelza woke up to the sound of her alarm clock, stretching her limbs and blinking away the remnants of sleep.
She turned to her side, facing Nathan, who was still fast asleep. With a mischievous smile, she leaned over and gently shook him.
“Hey, sleepyhead,” she whispered, her voice filled with amusement. “Time to wake up.”
Nathan grumbled, burying his face deeper into the pillow. “I’m not in the mood to go to work today,” he mumbled, his words slightly muffled.
Demelza chuckled, her eyes sparkling with playfulness. “Well, you’re the boss, aren’t you? If you don’t go, how will your employees follow suit?”
Nathan let out another grumble, but a small smile tugged at the corners of his lips. “You have a point,” he admitted, reluctantly sitting up in bed. “But I need to go home and change first.”
Demelza nodded, leaning in to give him a quick kiss. “Alright, I’ll see you at the office then.”
As Nathan got out of bed and made his way home, he couldn’t help but think about the day ahead.
He stepped into the shower, the warm water pouring over his tired body, making him feel alive and ready for the day.
While he was showering, his phone buzzed with a message. He quickly grabbed it, water droplets splattering against the screen. It was Demelza.
“Hey, don’t forget to grab some coffee on your way,” the message read, accompanied by a winking emoji.
Nathan chuckled, typing a quick reply. ” I am supposed to be the boss and not the other way…. But anything for her highness”
After finishing his shower, Nathan got dressed in a fine tailored suit as usual, he meticulously selected a tie to match. He glanced at himself in the mirror, adjusting his collar before grabbing his car keys and heading out the door.
As he walked into the office, holding two cups in her hands. He smiled warmly as he handed one to her.
“Good morning, boss,” she greeted, a playful glint in her eyes.
Nathan grinned, taking a sip of the coffee. “Good morning, baby girl,” he replied, his voice filled with affection. “Ready for another day of conquering the world?”NôvelDrama.Org © content.
Nathan settled into his office chair, ready to tackle the day’s tasks.
Just as he was about to delve into his work, a text notification chimed on his phone.
He glanced at the screen and saw that it was from Silver.
The message was urgent, asking him to come immediately as something had happened.
Curiosity and concern gnawed at Nathan’s mind, and he quickly stood up, leaving his office.
Demelza noticed his sudden departure and called out to him. “Nathan, what happened? Is everything alright?”
He turned to face her, a sense of urgency in his eyes. “I’m not sure, but I need to go. I’ll be back soon, I promise.” With that, he rushed out of the office, leaving Demelza puzzled and worried.
Nathan hurriedly made his way to Silver’s apartment, his mind racing with thoughts of what could have gone wrong.
As he reached the door, he punched in the passcode and entered.
To his surprise, he found Silver standing before him, clad in seductive lingerie. Anger welled up inside him, and he couldn’t help but question her intentions.
“What the hell is this, Silver?” he demanded, his voice laced with fury. “Do you realize it’s a Monday morning? I was at the office!”
Silver’s eyes flickered with a mischievous glint, and she took a step closer, attempting to seduce him. “Oh, Nathy baby, don’t be so uptight. I thought we could have some fun. You know, spice things up a bit.”
His anger intensified, and he shook his head in disbelief. “This is not the time or the place for your games, Silver. I have responsibilities, and you need to respect that.”
Frustrated and disappointed, Nathan turned on his heels and stormed out of the apartment. He quickly made his way back to his car and started driving towards the office, hoping to salvage what was left of the workday.
However, as he drove onto the highway, he was met with heavy traffic, causing his frustration to grow.
Cursing under his breath, Nathan found himself stuck in a sea of cars.
Impatience filled the air, and he rolled down his window, hoping to catch a glimpse of what was causing the delay.
As the minutes ticked by, Nathan realized that he might be stuck in traffic for a while.
He sighed heavily, his mind replaying the events at Silver’s apartment. Regret and anger mingled within him, and he couldn’t help but wonder how he would handle her.
