Chapter 638 One More Dinner Guest
Skylar did a lot of reading up on Beskary online. The languages spoken there were Hawenian,
Ferropenese and Granatan...
She knew none of them and she feared that if she got separated from the crew, she would get into
trouble.
Cross-legged, she sat in front of the computer, her face nestled in her palms. Her neck was fair and her
profile gentle and delicate. If she was wearing a school uniform, she would be mistaken for a high
school student doing homework on her desktop.
She put down her ballpoint pen and asked Tobias, “Should I get a temporary language teacher and
learn some Ferropenese? Then, I would be able to show off what a brilliant person I am in front of the
camera.” Owned by NôvelDrama.Org.
He thought she was just kidding but when she seemed serious, he said, “With your level of intelligence,
you shouldn't think of showing off. You might end up being embarrassed by putting your foot in your
mouth. Within such a short time, you wouldn't learn the correct pronunciation or accent and it would be
very embarrassing.”
Skylar sighed softly. Tobias was just too straightforward, not knowing how to mince his words.
She searched for Saorise's images on the web. Among the search results, there were news articles
about Saorise and Tobias.
Saorise spends the night in the mansion of Ford Group CEO and leaves early in the morning.
The caption was a bit shocking, so Skylar clicked into the website. There are no pictures in it, just a
fictional account of the scandal.
She turned her chair around, facing Tobias and looked into his deep dark eyes. “I just remembered a
short story. A man went to buy cigarettes while his girlfriend was sleeping upstairs. On the way, he met
a few men, all of whom had slept with his girlfriend before.”
Tobias put one hand on his knee, looked up at Skylar, smiled and said, “Are you sneering and saying
that I am too promiscuous?”
She liked how smart he was in reading her mind. Changing the font of the webpage to the largest size,
she let him read the headlines.
Tobias had read all kinds of news, most of which he dismissed with a sneer. “How can you believe the
nonsense that people write? I do not have a relationship with her. As a spokesperson, there is just
mutual benefit. We barely speak even when we meet, much less communicate in bed.”
Since Tobias had already said that there was no relationship between them, Skylar would seem so
stupid if she continued to question him.
Probably because of the jealous nature of women, Skylar just could not accept Saorise. She was just
incredibly gorgeous and lovely. When she acted in costume dramas, there was no male lead who could
match her. She was just too beautiful.
She could only act in movies featuring a strong heroine.
Madelyn had taken three days off because her daughter-in-law had given birth. She had to go home
immediately without delay as this was her first grandson.
In her absence, food became a problem.
Skylar's culinary skills were limited to the food being well-cooked and not raw. The taste was rather odd
when dishes that should be salty were not. At the same time, dishes that should not be salty contained
too much salt. In short, she was a bad cook.
Furthermore, she would pour in tons of cooking oil as if it was free of charge.
As far as Tobias was concerned, Skylar was good company and pleasing to the eyes. He had no
expectations of her to be an award-winning chef. When the housekeepers were not around, it was fine
as long as she could come up with something edible.
Together, Skylar and Tobias went to a nearby restaurant where private rooms were available. He had
already booked one in advance.
Since Skylar did not want to be photographed when they went out for meals, it was like playing hide
and seek.
Halfway through, while Skylar was eating fried chicken quietly, Tobias answered a phone call.
After hanging up, he lit a cigarette and asked Skylar, “Do you mind if someone joins us? My friend is
coming over, later.”
