Chapter 703 A Rookie Mistake
Madelyn was enjoying a plate of pasta while watching the most popular show on the television in the
living room when Skylar put down her luggage.
She, too, was unaware that Skylar would arrive that day. Slurping her pasta hastily, Madelyn said in a
panic, “You should've given me a call before coming home. I didn't prepare any dinner.”
Skylar was still exuding the cold air from outside. Drained of energy, she slumped onto the branded
recliner sofa until her whole body sunk into it.
“There's no need for that. I'm not hungry, anyway. Did Mr. Ford come home these days?”
Madelyn's heart pounded as she wondered if she should tell Skylar the truth. However, she thought
better of it. After all, it was best that she stayed out of Tobias' matters. I'll just tell her what I know.
“Mr. Ford hasn't been home for many days,” she answered.
Skylar had expected that. Tobias rarely stayed in that house whenever she was not around. At that
moment, she felt that it was not a good thing to have many houses as it would be hard to find out
where Tobias was staying at.
Meanwhile, Judy was brought to a private club by Susan. The place was so massive that Judy could
barely take in the entire interior with one glance. It was as beautiful as a palace, the floor was made of
shiny marble tiles, and servers dressed in tuxedos crowded the place. Oddly though, there were few
customers.
Judy, who was walking behind Susan, grabbed the latter's arm. “Hey, pretty lady, why did you bring me
here? Who exactly are you?”
Shrugging Judy's hand off, Susan commented, “You have no idea who I am, yet you followed me here.
You're quite bold, Ms. Judy Varnes.”
Judy shrugged nonchalantly. “You're covered in expensive goods. Even your coat's from Chrome
Hearts. All these things should cost tens of thousands. I figured I'd be safe since criminals wouldn't
dress so lavishly.”
Susan announced, “My boss wants to see you.”
Judy knitted her brows as she thought hard. As far as she remembered, she did not know any rich
businesspeople apart from Sheldon. Then again, Sheldon could never pull off something this grand.
Susan led Judy to the club's billiard room, where Tobias could be seen clearing the billiard table with
one stroke, sending the remaining black ball into a pocket.
Judy was surprised to see Tobias' face as he turned to hand the cue stick to the server.
“Have a seat. What would you like to drink?” asked Tobias, gesturing to the couch.
Still feeling surprised, Judy took a seat with her eyes fixed on Tobias. “Coke with ice.”
When Tobias sat beside her, he stared at her for some time. Although there was nothing unusual about
the way he looked at her, it was so penetrating that even Judy, who had been mingling in society from a
young age, felt uncomfortable.
Feigning nonchalance, she asked, “Why did you want to see me, Mr. Ford? Could you have taken a
liking to me?”
Tobias burst out laughing at how straightforward the woman was. “I'm not interested in little girls.”
His response elicited a pout from Judy. She did not think she was significantly younger than Skylar
since the latter was only two years older than her. The thought of Skylar and Tobias as a couple made
Judy scoff inwardly. They're hiding it quite well, though.
Skylar was currently a sensation in the entertainment industry. Thus, her love life intrigued the media.
Tobias had looked into Judy's history. She stopped studying after graduating from junior high. For the
past few years, she had been working in bars and doing a side business selling medicines to rich heirs
online. She was able to go through hardship while making more than enough to survive. This is from NôvelDrama.Org.
“Truman and I are old friends. That's why I came looking for you.”
When he finished his sentence, he felt the phone in his pocket vibrate. He fished it out and saw
Skylar's name displayed on it.
However, Tobias simply placed his phone aside without bothering to read the text.
Judy stared at Tobias unblinkingly when she heard him mention her father's name. “How would my
penniless father be acquainted with someone as rich as you? Could you have made a mistake, Mr.
Ford?”
“Do you think I'd make such a rookie mistake?”
