Chapter 2119
Chapter 2119
Estelle spun around abruptly, her eyes catching a menacing figure charging toward her in the dim light. In each hand, they brandished a bottle of sulfuric acid, one after the other, flinging them viciously at Estelle and her friends.
"Ella!"
Jonathan sprang into action, rushing forward to pull Estelle into his arms, wrapping her protectively with his heavy coat.
Almost simultaneously, Gabriel's towering frame reached them. Seeing Estelle yanked away by Jonathan, he grabbed Sylvia's hand and spun, embracing her tightly and shielding her with his body.
Evelyn was left alone, her eyes widening in horror as a bottle of acid hurtled toward her face.
"Evelyn!" Original from NôvelDrama.Org.
Estelle shoved Jonathan aside and leapt forward, kicking the bottle away and tackling Evelyn to the ground beneath her.
The last acid bottle grazed the tops of their heads, smashing against Jonathan's car with a loud "bang," its corrosive contents splattering all over.
Estelle clung to Evelyn, her back hand singed by the acid, a searing pain coursing through her skin.
All of this happened in a flash—a mere moment from the bottles being thrown to their explosive impact.
Antonia, seeing her attack miss Estelle, drew a knife and charged at her.
Jonathan's foot lashed out, sending Antonia's knife flying, and kicked the bottle shards directly onto Antonia's face.
Antonia staggered backward, clutching her face, screaming in agony.
Sylvia broke free from Gabriel's embrace, sprinting to Estelle's aid, pulling her up and frantically wiping her hand with snow. She turned to Gabriel, who had followed, and yelled, "Get some water, quick."
Gabriel returned with a bottle of water from his car and began rinsing Estelle's burned hand.
Evelyn also rose and rushed over, crying in fright, "Estelle, are you okay?"
Jonathan held Estelle's hand in his, his heart pounding furiously, his handsome face tense with concern, "Are you hurt anywhere else?"
"No. I'm fine," Estelle replied calmly, shaking her head.
Antonia, her face a patchwork from the acid burns, picked up the knife in a desperate attempt to approach again, but Sylvia spun and kicked her away.
Sylvia advanced, delivering two sharp slaps to Antonia's face, leaving her howling in pain.
Years spent at Gabriel's side had taught Sylvia differently than Estelle, but that didn't mean she lacked the ability to defend herself. Handling a fight with another woman was well within her capabilities.
Antonia continued to retreat, her features twisted in a gruesome snarl, shrieking hysterically, "Estelle, you damn wretch! You ruined my father, destroyed my family—I'll never let you go, I swear I'll kill you!"
"You act all high and mighty with the Lamont family backing you. Why don't you face me one-on- one!"
"If anything happens to my father, I'll haunt you as a ghost and never forgive you!"
A ruthless glint crossed Sylvia's face as she kicked Antonia squarely in the chest. Antonia fell to the ground, finally in too much pain to utter another word.
Eugene, who had gone to fetch his car, ran over, protecting Sylvia, "What happened? Why the fight?"
In his eyes, Sylvia was always elegant and beautiful—it was his first time witnessing her brawl.
Sylvia spoke softly, "Sorry you had to see that."
Eugene immediately shook his head, his eyes full of concern, "I'm just worried about you getting hurt. Are you okay?"
Gabriel glanced over at the pair and turned to Jonathan, "Should we call the cops?"
Jonathan himself made the call, and within five minutes, the local police arrived, took photos for evidence, and apprehended Antonia.
Antonia attempted to resist, only to be subdued by a stun baton from a junior officer, collapsing limply to the ground.
Estelle's hand wasn't seriously injured; just a few scattered drops of acid that had been quickly washed away with water.
Evelyn, on the other hand, was visibly shaken, her complexion pale as a ghost.
Jonathan said to Gabriel, "I'll handle this. You take Evelyn home, and I'll take Ella."
Evelyn immediately clung to Gabriel, "Gabriel!"
Sylvia, hearing her, glanced toward Evelyn with a subtle arch of her brow. Gabriel, huh?
